I've collected them sense they came out and have a few years with them now and bring them out occasionally to look at but from what I've experienced with them is the plastic chassis deteriorates at certain places and make sure you replace the 180 motor after so much time used because the micro brushes inside are so thin and fragile they eventually break and short out the FET's rendering it useless but they are some of my old favorites in that scale besides my Mini Z's and ABC's
Hi Peter, I think you’ve got a little gem there. I remember the days of 27mHz radio and the crystals that were used for the Acoms receiver and transmitters used in the 80’s. I did have a selection so that a group of friends and I could all run together (of course, there was always one Herbert! That placed the wrong crystal in their transmitter) and well, you know, the models ends up out of control! You could also use Hobby Wing for batteries, I’ve got a couple of Turnigy batteries for my Orlandoo Hunter 1/32 scale model, they are superb. They also do NiMh too, reasonable priced and quick delivery. The looking forward to the revamp of the Porsche 961, it will be nice to see. Take care, all the best and happy New Year. 😉😊😉
Hi John many thanks for your comment and happy new year to you. I too had a little selection of crystals for 27mHz and sometimes I d have to change crystals between races. When 40mHz came in for cars it was such a revelation, as there were so many crystals on that frequency you could go months without changing. I still have a 35mHz set for aeroplanes, but haven’t used that one in a long time since I got a 2.4 as they’re so much more reliable. Thanks for the info on the batteries John will give them a look up. I’m a bit out of date at present with RC so really glad for any tips, certainly electric stuff. Hope to see your Blitzer Beetle soon take care and best wishes
