Sir , you are wrong. We can't take L as 5m because slab length is 5 m. We are calculating bar . So we have to diduct side cover (i.e 0.02 ) from both side. 5-2*.02=4.96 . (a)Cutting length of main& distribution bar (b) no of bars (c) unit weight of bar & total weight of bar .

For example, if the 12m bar is used for the distribution bar, it will produce one length of 8m and an off-cut of 4m, Going by your calculation sir, the quantity of rods is underestimated for the slab, therefore, 10% should be added to provide for waste.

Sir, i think the MB and DB lengths were interchanged when you calculate their numbers. MBs length should be 3m, while DB is 5m. I like this lecture.
Is it mandatory to be the spacing c/c is 15cm or it depends on the no. Of floor? Ex: just a two story building is it the same spacing?
