you nailed it. the song describes a young soldier fighting for god country and of course his own life. the ending is regret. we often see in soldiers returning home from a war and having to deal with the pain they have suffered during their time. amazing song and shout out to all that have fought and died and had to do what that must for our freedom we often take for granted
Believe it's also based on PTSD specifically Veterans suffering from it. Also they mention how the people in higher power have no thoughts (cares) for the soldiers who actually fight the politician's wars.
A7X is really a band all to their own…they have always hit me like the Metallica of the new generation. Their songs take you for a ride, a journey, and you don’t get off of it until they say you can. Incredibly deep, and introspective.
