    This is so elementary but yet so entertaining. Good job young bucks. Nice boat.

    Just bought the same kit. Going to install it soon. Hoping for some thump! Not expecting much, but a little more would be nice. Nice vid!

    Seems like there were two busses…big one for mains power, and a subpanel for lower amperage (the one with the cover). That should already be protected by a 20ish amp fuse. They make these cool butt connecters that have solder and shrink wrap. Probably really good for stuff like this.

    Thanks for the video, I have a smaller Robalo and your video gave me perfect location for battery switch cut off in the glove box. Was your boat wired that way from dealer? i wondered why glovebox was made very shallow on one side, looks made for that.. My cutoff is under a heavy large door on the stern and its a pain to open just to cut off switch.
    Thanks

    Cool video but was wondering why you didn't install a fuse for the Amp? And you didn't use heatshrink on the main positive connector to the battery switch,

      @thebrowncompound  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Amp has a fuse on the wire that comes out of it already an I ended up wrapped it in some red electrical tape didn’t have heat shrink big enough.

    I want to know how it sounds, and does it rattle the whole boat or console

    Is it advisable to put sealant around the speaker and fiberglass? So it doesn't leak water when it rains/splashes from running the boat?

    Thanks for putting out the video. I need to set up a Yamaha music mixer and hook up some wireless mics etc. They are using DS speakers and amp. They said it runs on 12 Volt battery which is what I am trying to figure out since the power on these items are 120 volt.

    is that the only amp you ran for the boat. are the jl 7 inch mids just running off the head unit?

    Do you need to put any silicone around the speaker before final install?

      i would suggest it on a marine install

    Do you have Amazon affiliate links for this stuff? Looking to buy an amplifier, upgraded speakers and box sub-woofer. Hate to think about cutting a hole in the side of the console.

    i would seal the hole you cut for the sub

    Did you change the settings on the back of the amp? I'm confused as to what I need to do with that.

    • @thebrowncompound
      @thebrowncompound  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes your gonna need to tune it to the sub you have HZ if it’s your first time I’d just mess with it while it’s playing and see what sounds best. Can’t really explain tuning an amp wish I went more in depth on it

    • @nathanyarborough7519
      @nathanyarborough7519 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      audio shop will tune it for 20-30 bucks with SMD controller to maximize hz, freq, and X overs, if u do it by ear, u risk damage voice coil in the sub/ speaker

    Did you need to buy speaker cables?

    • @thebrowncompound
      @thebrowncompound  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That was the wire from amp to speaker. Can buy a role almost anywhere Walmart for example

    Can i put a 10 inch marine sub in my car ? They say they dont need enclosures ?

    • @thebrowncompound
      @thebrowncompound  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No you'll need a box center consol is a "enclosure"

    Seems very thin wire for 300w

  • @wpaul281
    @wpaul281 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    don't think i would let this guy install anything in my boat, the amp for my 6.5's have a bigger power and ground and a fuse, why connect the amp to battery 1 when it should be hook to the ON terminal of the main switch ( no power when main power is off )

    • @thebrowncompound
      @thebrowncompound  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol that is how it’s wired and the power an ground out of amp is the same size as wire I used, low power tiny amp

  • @ericmac564
    @ericmac564 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    14 gauge wire to power the sub? Yikes.

    • @thebrowncompound
      @thebrowncompound  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the sub connections only take that size wire…

    • @thebrowncompound
      @thebrowncompound  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Or should I Of got some 4 gauge and cut half the wire off and shoved it in the sub with frays sticking all out so my positive an negative touch? Lol it’s like 200 watts I’ve ran 14gauge in my truck years back on 3k watts and slammed every day an never burnt a wire.
