It's simply one of the best performances for acoustic fingerstyle I've ever seen and listened to. I really like Andy's "Drifting" but thisone here deserves similar klickrates or more.
Quite the contrary. I was in the audience and I was totally stunned. I had never heard anything like this and just wanted to inhale every single note and concentrate on the music. You should have heard the standing ovation in the end... :-)
Dude you're incredible... I've been playing guitar since 95 and I've never seen someone with such a fresh and unique approach! Bravo and keep it up man... you're a star in the making!
5 years ago, this clip inspired me to record an album. Now, after release of said album, a couple of singles, and a very tumultuous year and a half in which my guitars quietly slumbered in their cases, I'm ready to do it again. Revisiting some old favorites for inspiration, and I realized that I never gave this video a like! So there it is, you're a force for good Petteri!
Hi Daniel! Thank you, happy to hear that the music has inspired you. Best of luck with the new album. I feel you, it's usually quite an effort for me too get a new release out there. Rock on!
Petteri Sariola's music is seriously top class. It's odd how he hasn't achieved more publicity. Compared to Andy Mckee and Eric Mongrain (Search youtube for those names) he's music is as superior as theirs. The way he plays is the result of super hard training. It's like one guitarist from million who can slam a guitar this way.
Wow !! Impressive energy broadcasted by an ACOUSTIC guitar only. Groovy and fresh. GUITAR SUIT UP (at my first glance I thought you were Neil Patrick Harris)
You are the Mark King of guitar! I've been trying to figure out how to mix slap bass with fingerstyle guitar for years and you just put it in my face! Nothing short of awesome. I guess I'll sell my guitar now!
To the folks watching this I have somewhat good news: recently, Don Ross has been contacted and asked to see if he had ever heard Sariola's work and could get him to tour more abroad in Ross's company. Ross responded with "No I haven't...till now. I'll check him out. Who knows?" Here's hoping more folks than those confined to central and northern Europe can get a chance to see and hear what real music is.
thnx guys! the next record (coming out after summer) will be less instrumental fingerstyle and a lot more rock-oriented singersongwriter-stuff. more vocals etc. but guitar is still the spine of everything :) first single should come out before summer. peace. -p
Bet this will be one of those tabs where the tune is printed on just 1 page and the performance notes take up about 20! LOl! Can't wait for this tab though! Should be great!
Petteri is just amazing! we are looking forward to see him live at the guitar fight club in june the 19th! Beside the show it ist even possible to take part on his workshop "how to drum your guitar" --- we will be there!
tää on iha ihmeellist ja mahtavaa, Fuckin' amazing! sä edustat näinki nuores iäs tälläsiä kitarajumaloita jo, mihin oot menos tästä eteenpäin, on vaa mielikuvituksen kysymys. jatka tota kaikkee hommaa, annat kokonaan uuden kuvan soitolle kitaristeille kaikille päin maailmaa.
Hey Petteri, How are you? I just love this tune. I keep coming back to watch you play it. Five stars! Please keep giving us your beautiful guitar music. God bless, - Robert
Yep. Buuuut point is the idea of understanding that limitations don't necessarily need to be taken serious. It can give great motivation. Having fun with boundaries and setting goals beyond them can give great results. I never ever thought I could play something like that. When one's goal is over something that is considered impossible etc., one can achieve something.. emm, really whacky and dope gimmicks!!
This is really, really neat. Its so... New. The Michael Hedges/Don Ross thing is great, and I thought it'd gotten to its limit, but this is just blew me out of the water. More percussively focused, and... its just so refresshing! And a nice guy too ^_^
That's nothing! I should upload here my "Stomp" from that same gig - then you'd know the true meaning of the "dead audience" -syndrome. In the end there's this guy right in front of the camera that sits/lies on the bench like he's without a spine and claps his hand in the end - about one clap per two seconds. He'd be the ultimate champion in the battle of who could care less. -p
i have watched this 15 times in a row i love it. Top 10 best guitar pieces i have heard in my life and i have heard plenty. is it in dadgad? and any chance you have a tab i could buy.
OH YEAH! This is just amazing! Sounds very nice, but you sing also very good, so could upload some of that stuff too? Ja muuten sun favorittejen ansiosta eksyin MC Taakibörstan videoihin, kiitos siitä! Tuli vanhat kunnon MoonTV ajat mieleen
Whoa man, you are really fantastic. Where did you learn to play like that? It seems almost like a cross between classical guitar and slap bass or something. Phenomenal stuff, keep it up!
Hi there! After almost 20 years, here it is... Prime TABs! Available @ www.petterisariola.fi/shop/prime
14 years already and I still listen to this. Such an amazing piece.
Thank you so much Lyle.
me too. I think petteri sariola’s prime is NO.1
For real, it was the best one in the "Guitars Suck 7" video
17 years now and I still come back to it
Brilliant. Saw this guy on TV this morning. Just dazzling technique.
楽曲とテクニックが完璧に融合した素晴らしいギター。アメイジング!
who is in that audience? Hearts of stone!!! This tune is trully mesmerizing and the performance was so tight!!
This guy is win. There's not much else to say, he's an amazing guitarist.
His show was greatly appreciated at Gedved skole, thanks a lot!

Very good performer + Amazing guitarist + Sick riffs and beats = Petteri Sariola
Dude you're incredible... I've been playing guitar since 95 and I've never seen someone with such a fresh and unique approach!
Bravo and keep it up man... you're a star in the making!
One of the best acoustic guitar videos on utube. Why does he not go far.His music is superb.
I've seen Marcin. But this guy is a genius for coming up with this 18 years ago. People will think you are alien if you play this today.
Woah! Amazing! I just love how some musicians manage to be a whole band just by themselves! 5 stars!

You, Jin san Kim and Marcin have truly changed my views on Guitar. You all are pushing the boundaries of Guitar playing. Love it 💖💖
That was awesome!
5 stars easily. That uptempo at the end is made of pure win.
Wow !! Impressive energy broadcasted by an ACOUSTIC guitar only. Groovy and fresh.
GUITAR SUIT UP (at my first glance I thought you were Neil Patrick Harris)

Man, that sounds like 3 or 4 people playing at once. Amazing skill, and a cool song too. I'm inspired:)
I never truly enjoyed music... UNTIL NOW.
Five stars. Amazing.
You are the Mark King of guitar! I've been trying to figure out how to mix slap bass with fingerstyle guitar for years and you just put it in my face! Nothing short of awesome. I guess I'll sell my guitar now!
Wow, that was stunning! I'm so proud that we have someone like you in Finland (I'm finnish)! Keep up the good work! :)
I just ordered your CD I think I will be pleasently surprised.
Petteri, you are a bona fide guitar god! Thanks for this and again for DBTL a few years ago! With utmost regards & respect, Peter.

You rock yo.
I don't think they're pissed about the music. They may be upset about the aneurysm caused by an inability to comprehend the godliness of Petteri.

I think Pete is in his own league really. Anyway, he's awesome. Well done!

Still gold 😍😍😍
Can't believe the audience... I'd been standing and clapping from the beginning.
That's nothing! I should upload here my "Stomp" from that same gig - then you'd know the true meaning of the "dead audience" -syndrome.

Nähtiin tämä herrasmies eilen Rajattoman konsertissa, tyyppi kyllä varasti koko shown!
I think he's kicking ass the whole time, that's just his finishing move...
This is amazing
