Really enjoyed. Hope you continue to do these marathon review videos. Great beta/info on the race and you are right, not a lot of this available on TH-cam. Great addition to the Channel.
Don’t apologize for doing a videos you want to make. I’m not a runner but I still found it interesting. You guys do what you want. It’s your channel. If I’m not into it I’ll skip a video. This one I dug l. Thumbs up.
With people like the two of you in the fight against T1D, we can really hope for a cure for T1D (and better treatments until T1D is gone for good). Thanks for all you do. I will see you on the road!
Good review! I have done this marathon 4 times, and your review brings back good and bad memories of the race. In fact, I am inspired to do the 2020 again! Thanks!
Being born in raised in Cincinnati your absolutely right-the flying pig is a big deal. Cincinnati really starts to come alive in the spring. I’m glad you liked it man!
Great Event, Flying Pig comes from when the city had was big for meat packing. The size of the event surprised me too, ended up stuck in the back for the first half. Which was'nt bad because that's where the hills are. Second half was able to clear in 91 minutes, so I was happy.
Enjoyed the video. I think my perspective of watching while on the elliptical made it even better. I think I’ll watch it again while eating Doritos and see if that changes anything.😂 Mad props to you for running those long distances. I think I could do a 5k. Past that I think I would need someone trailing me with some O2.
Kevin, enjoyed that review for sure - would be great for you to review some trail running items and running trails, shoes, socks, shirts, rain running, filming while running.....
If you don’t want to be fighting to run past other people you should move up at least one pig pen. It’s great at about mile 8 when the halfers split off. Breath a sigh of freedom, no more shoulder rubbing after that. Great review, love the flying pig!!
Great video. Some discrepancy with your info here though. Nationwide’s Columbus Marathon has around 20,000 participants actually. You may have been looking at Pig’s overall participants(1/2 and full) vs just Columbus’ full. Both are in the 20,000 range. Also I’ve run Columbus and there’s around 1100 ft of vertical in the 26.2. Way more than 200 feet. Pig is more hilly, yes, but Columbus has more up and down than you think
Pigs overall numbers for the 3 days in 2019 was 43,691 runners. It's like 13k for both the 5k and 10k combined. And the 1/2 is only in the 5k people range as well. I've never seen the pigs official numbers ever listed but it's 20k+ for the full. Only 3-5k people finish each year.
@@xarrid As someone who has been a Pig spectator for years, I've noticed the finisher number is around the 3-5,000 range, but they get 20,000 sign up? That many drop out? I had no idea. Or do you think a bunch don't even start the race?
This was super helpful as I'm preparing to run the 2023 Pig in a couple weeks! Thank you!

Glad you had a great time at our marathon.

Hope you do the 2020 flying pig. Always good to see people run it. It's very young race at being only 20 years old.
"Mile 17 you dont want to be facing chili"... lol!!!
Just hope it was skyline and not goldstar. If you are from Cincinnati, you know what I mean.

Jello Kevin, great video my friend. Thanks for sharing. I'm sure a great time was had by all the participants. Be safe out there.
🤗
So glad to have watched this!!! I didn't know it was hilly!!!!
Great review, appreciate the video!

A little more specific than that, Cincinnati, was the wolrds largest pork processing city in the early to mid 1800s.

Nice to learn about another SBO passion! I'm leaving the marathons to you though!!😊😊😎😎

I started trail running a few years ago and was surprised how popular it is.
Thank you! Just signed up for the 2020!
Great review. I don't mind the subject. I just like listening to you and your brother because you are so funny.
Hi Kevin, Can you do a review of the GPS watch that you use? I assume it’s useful for running and backpacking
Do the WV Distance Run. Awesome big race from my hometown in Charleston
I would be a little chicken if I saw someone handing out chili at a race, I would be a little concerned about a chemistry experiment
Nice job... do you do any of those “mudder” style trail races with all those obstacles?
I did one in 2014 - they are a lot of fun
Going to run my first marathon there next year. I'm a brand new runner at 31 hahahaha.
