    Thanks for the shootout and I love the addition of the wood piece to make it more stable..I think I will have to do the same. I love the floating platform man and I need to make my own.

    Floating platform idea is great. I need to try something like that for myself when I don’t need or want the full blind setup on the water.

    I just want to say that I did the same floating platform and it works perfectly!! Thank you so much. If you are like me, not very capable with your hands, this floating platform is easy to do and works perfectly. Easy to carry. 100% I recommend !

    For the ground pod, you can also use a plastic or aluminium platter.

    Floating platform I've been looking into. I'm thinking of mounting my Platypod on top (with my gimbal) of a rig like you've created (plywood over styrofoam). I'm thinking, not having tested anything yet, you might want something with less buoyancy (maybe none at all) and more weight on the bottom of the styrofoam to act keel like, provide more stability and steadiness -- two sections of 2x4, for example. Thanks for the video.

    Another diy idea you can use is like that foam tube from like the airconditioners and you just attach it to a car window/door

  • @tarjeijensen7237
    @tarjeijensen7237 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    For the floating stuff : Use plastic tubes. Your local building supply shop should have some. Probably 5+ inches. You can make something that looks like at H or A.

    Have you tried using a counterweight on the bottom of your floating platform for added stability? Think of it as a buoy.

    I'm going to be spending a lot of time photographing shorebirds in a really soggy area. Sometimes sitting on my butt, sometimes laying on my stomach. I would like to stay dry and mud-free as much as possible this year. Is my best bet to just get a thick plastic vapor barrier and cut it to size or is there a good product you could recommend?
