❣DIY Vardo Wagon Using Cardboard❣

- I made a Vardo wagon recycling cardboard from some pizza boxes I had laying around. I only bought the colors, the hot glue and some paper straws. It took me about five days to finish working about two or three hours daily.
I started by drawing and cutting the cardboard walls of the wagon. Then I made the cardboard roof and the base. I cut out the windows and the door. I made every wheel by overlaying five circles of cardboard, making the wheel's center (rolling two cardboard stripes, a tall one and a shorter one) and used some paper straws for the wheels spokes. I glued everything in place using super glue. When the basic shape was finished I started adding the smaller details like roof tiles and small wooden boards all over the surface of the wagon. Under the windows I placed the cardboard stripes vertically and alternating the direction to give a nice decorative effect. I also made railing for the front porch and added a little box at the back of the wagon. For the door hinges I used a little piece of craft foam I had. I painted the wagon using acrylic paint. I start the painting by covering the surface with the base colors. Then I added some brighter nuances for the lighted areas and darker and diluted nuances in the shadows and contrast areas. What a beautiful work of art, i love it. When i was small my mum met an old lady who had landed in hospital at the same moment in time and they became the greatest of friends. Mum would go through to visit her and that was when we discovered her HOME, it was the most beautiful travellers caravan that you ever did see and your art work just brought back so many wonderful memories, thank you.
As with EVERY video, I am smiling through the whole thing and excitedly wanting to see how you make each part and then bring “life” to them with your fantastic painting....at the same time.....I am wanting each video to never end! I have made some things for my great granddaughter that were TOTALLY inspired by YOU. I thank you from the bottom of my heart! I don’t live near my little granddaughter & I’m alone most of the time. A very big thank you for these didactic videos, easy to follow, very clear and above all which give all kinds of concrete ideas, which we can then put into practice even at home to make our own creations. The "most" is that you use recycled materials, easy to find, easy to handle, inexpensive. The second “most” is that doing what you are doing seems to require only a limited time, a few hours, one or two days at most. Still working on my wagon dollhouse. Almost done. I do realise now that I’m making the doors, that next time I have to make the door come down straight on the sides so they could function proper as an opening door. Had to raise it a bit and put a slant at the bottom. Lessons learned.Thanks for the inspiration. ❤️

In college we were asked to make a 3D object out of cardboard. I made the most abysmal tree you have ever seen, and haven’t tried cardboard crafting since. This channel and learning how artists who work with the material use to it it’s true potential has re-invigorated my interest in the craft (as has my collection of cardboard pizza boxes XD) so thank you!
