    If the doctor was formally disciplined and then retired (on top of other malpractice lawsuits) it sounds like he really was at fault. While murder is wrong, we have no idea what the husband went through for those many years. I am sure the hospital was neither forthcoming nor cooperative. Anyone in a position of legally going up against a huge corporate entity like a hospital knows how maddening it can be. I am surprised this does not happen more.

    • @AnaGNews
      @AnaGNews 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Actually, I was thinking the same thing - we don’t see these revenge cases often in medicine

    • @itstatystoopid1538
      @itstatystoopid1538 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      He got true justice for his wife. Murder is never right and for that reason these hospitals and their employees should be held to a higher standard because they literally hold people’s lives in their hands. If they held them more responsible than maybe just maybe those revenge plots wouldn’t be a thing. It’s one thing to make a tiny negligible mistake that’s ends in death but come on. Disciplined and retired shouldn’t be in the same sentence. He was guilty nd unfortunately for him he screwed over the wrong guy. If you don’t go around screwing people over your less likely to run into these problems.

      I doubt the doctor admitted it or apologized. What I read says that there was a determination that the doctor was guilty of serial neglect. A slap on the wrist. Like I said in my comment: a lot of doctors feel like old people aren't worth the extra time, effort, or medical attention. That old man was brokenhearted. It was definitely revenge.

  • @jenmadkins
    @jenmadkins 2 ปีที่แล้ว +30

    I do kind of feel pity for the 83 year old. He truly loved his wife and I think that’s honestly so sweet, that he was willing to throw his life away for his wife. Obviously, I don’t think it was right to put a hit out on the doctor but, honestly, I’m curious about the wife’s medical history is and, how exactly she died from such a bad ingrown nail. She was an older lady, and infections so tend to be harder on older people. I’m curious about why the doctor was already in multiple malpractice suits. If this doctor was out here mutilating patients, then I honestly can’t lie, I’d feel significantly less bad about his death. That would definitely change my opinion.

    As one who has recently spent time in a hospital, I can say that it is frustrating that doctors in general don't care if you live or die. The majority of doctors are in the profession for one reason, money. My doctor's office does not allow people to speak to him directly. Everyone who calls has to leave a voicemail message for the administrative assistant and then the admin assistant is the one who calls you back. Total arrogance by the doctor. I can imagine how angry I'd be at my doctor if he had made some kind of mistake after being so arrogant with me.

    • @vickiehadd4324
      @vickiehadd4324 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Doctors work almost around the clock. They can’t allow themselves to cry and mourn every death. Plus they are around death all the time. You almost get immune to it. I’m sure they feel pretty sad when someone dies. Especially if the person was young or youngish. The really old people a person gets used to that and they’ve lived their lives. Death is inevitable. Doctors are people too. With all the faults everyone else has.

    • @lindiehammond7921
      @lindiehammond7921 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow, when calling my primary physician and my kid's pediatrician, I get transfered to their nurse's and most of the time have to leave a message. Once in a great while they'll answer. Leaving a message is actually ideal because the nurse's will call back with an answer after conferring with the doctor(s). Many times our pediatrician will call back too. But, their medical secretaries/assistants won't answer anything medical related, they transfer to the nurse. They're pretty much only for making/rescheduling appointments or handling administrative duties. i.e updating contact info, insurance info, payments, etc.

But it's like the gentleman said, it's nine years if she gets it. And even if she does get it, it's a time consuming process to release her on bail so tack on another couple of years. So, eleven to thirteen.

My mother in law is a whole year younger. If we bring up that dad is counting the ticks again, he gives up a great laugh and says he is looking forward to the next gastronomical delight mother makes him. She chimes in that he better go check his britches, and says he grins like that when he's just piddled himself too. The only thing more comical than the two of them was when aunt in law was there. She was younger by 2 years, but had a stroke and was a tiny, frail woman. Not someone you would expect talk of a$$holes at the dinner table. She passed just 6 weeks ago. He's surprised at the low amount of $5,000. Although sickened, I'm not surprised. I've heard of people taking much less, unfortunately. No respect for human life. I'm 57 & my husband is 62. Our house has at least 9 cell phones but only 2 are active. Oh my goodness. I was a 911 dispatcher & an EMT. Why on earth didn't the dispatcher get help for him?!?? There's absolutely no excuse & that dispatcher should be held accountable.

    If the 83 yr old would have done that in Ireland, it would have been seen as strategic. Prison is cheaper than a nursing home. I understand that he lost a wife, which IS sad. And the doctor could well have mismanaged that case. As tragic as that is, it did not warrant a death sentence.

Dont these ppl that hired hitmen know that cops dont come say “ im sorry to tell you, your husbands dead. And by the way here are the pics of the crime scene”? Yes photos of crime scenes might get seen.. but its not when they come notify you!!
