If I ever move to Newport it'll be near Agate beach. That place amazed me. Surfer from San Diego grown up there and Hawaii and Oregon somehow took a hold of me for years, but I'd always go back to Hawaii at the beginning of fall, however now I am ready to try making through a winter there. Stayed in Newport in late November last year, and as a surfer Agate beach is a real special place
Awesome feedback on Newport. As a surfer myself Agate Beach area is where I've settled too. I like that you can get to all spots north and south in a short amount of time. And its a really beautiful spot. We take lots of walks out to the lighthouse (checking on the surf or course)
Joe, these are great videos. Do you have a video comparing Newport to Lincoln City? Looking at both, but a lot of little differences. Your insight would be great.
Thanks for the comment Veronica. I think it all depends on what your looking for. They are smaller towns so availability of homes for sale can sometimes be a challenge. As long as your flexible there are always great homes for sale
I think you mentioned a Hospital in one video, Is there a real Hospital? If so where and what is it called? Thanks for keeping it real and being genuine.
Newport get its share of summer visitors and is the driving force for all the small, locally owned restaurants and specialty shops that help make it so much fun to be here. So in the summer plan for plenty of in town traffic. But, we have multiple options of betting over to the coast from the valley so traffic in and out of town is usually not bad. Parking is rarely an issue accept for peak times in Nye beach or along the Bay district. So many beaches it’s rarely crowded. Thanks for your question 🤙
Perhaps an odd question, but what are the rules regarding parking a trailered sailboat on a residential property? The bay seems pretty good for daysailing.
It’s a perfect question for Newport! Totally varies neighborhood to neighborhood. One of my neighbors in north Agate has a trailered sailboat but some areas don’t allow outdoor boats. I have a sailboat moored at port of Newport and it’s a pretty affordable option too.
It can be difficult to find a rental on the coast. Towns are relatively small without many apartments available. Surf View Village is a new apartment complex you might want to check out if you haven’t yet. www.surfviewvillage.com
Here’s a list off Yelp I found that might help show you some of what there is to offer. But some of the best are the small obscure ones you’ll find by exploring in person. www.bing.com/fd/ls/GLinkPing.aspx?IG=B24FFDD484AC4721BCD4BAF9126DA1AC&&ID=SERP,5139.1&SUIH=SmXoJfMDed3BJoYowKnQhw&redir=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cueWVscC5jb20vc2VhcmNoP2NmbHQ9Z2FsbGVyaWVzJmZpbmRfbG9jPU5ld3BvcnQlMkMrT1I
Toledo’s history as a logging town gives it a lot of character. Your still close to the beach but in a climate that doesn’t have the same coastal marine effect. It get warmer in the summer and cooler in the winter. It’s easier to find homes on larger lots and acreage. Well worth checking out!
@@surfrealtor Thx Joe ! We sealed the deal in Toledo ! Hope it doesn't get too hot. Cold doesn't bother me as much. But can't wait to get out there. Thank you so much for your help!
My kids love Agate beach but they have a lot of friends that live on the east side by the schools. Nye beach has the skate park which is cool for the kids. I think the most important thing to factor in is what you like to do for recreation with your kids
Hey Brandon, where in AK do you live? I grew up there. Newport is totally dog friendly. Seems like everyone has dogs here. There isn’t any restricted beaches and there’s a few good restaurants that allow dogs on the beach. Chowder bowl is one of my favorites.

@@brandonv4900 We wanted a place on the coast to raise our 2 buys that was a good mix of small-town but not too far out. Newport reminded me of combining all the towns on the Kenai Penn into one. Funny story about that little Mia pronunciation… my kids are sponge bob fans and always call it yah-kini bay from the cartoon. I didn’t even realize I mispronounced it until later when I was editing. Thought it would be a funny one to leave in for the locals…
That is a super good point! I've lived here for years and don't think I ever go to the bay without stopping by to check out the sealions. I'll have to do a whole video on just the Bay district.

100% I think Oregons Central and northern coastline is like a country side version of Portland when it comes to acceptability of LGBT. Down south of Florence it gets a little more out in the boonies kinda vibes

I am 100% moving to Newport from Nevada in the spring. I've been looking at some condos at little creek cove. Any suggestions?
Little Creek Cove is just for vacation rentals but there’s other condos in Newport to look into. Feel free to contact me directly for more info.

I think I saw a 2 bd apartment for $1200 on Facebook marketplace. That would be about as low as I’ve seen. Median 3bed/2bath is probably $2500 and up
