Good Morning Paul. I've skinned beaver cased for years, but only because they don't fall off the fleshing beam and they are easier to flesh. Once they are fleshed, I split it up the belly and finish them round like normal. There is no grease on the edge like there is skinning it open. They look much better that way and it's easier by far. I don't cut from the tail to the legs though. I cut off the tail and rear feet, cut up the belly only about 6 inches or so, and work the leg stumps out through that hole. You tube is ridiculous that way, but I have found that if I change the color to black & white, I don't have problems. You tube doesn't like "red" it seems. I've quit doing many fur processing videos too because of their too sensitive rules. I haven't had really any problems with the black and white though.

Some people might even want the bever for a hanger with your other furs.I think it would look cool.

Nope, you did it the way I like to do it, except I keep the rear legs pulled through the hide, but it makes it a breeze fleshing a beaver on a beam, then I cut it up the belly, and peg it out in a circle to sell. Years ago, I trapped about 15 kit beavers in a large batch of beavers, and I kept those pelts and had them tanned. I used the belly fur to trim a light tan wool coat that my wife had, and she was so happy with that beautiful fur trimmed coat! That belly fur and especially from the smaller beavers is so soft it is pure luxury!! Thanks for the great video!

Since 2000 I catch and tan my owns pelts. I thougt to skin beaver like you for the sames reasons and it is easier to stretch and get suffel and soft with no loose during drying . Thank for vidéo .

The big squeeze paper clips work well for holding noses in place till they set up a little and don't slide over the tip of the board.

Thanks for the informative video and I am going to try putting one up this way. Some of the other trapping channels go to black and white for skinning to help avoid algorithm issues - just passing along & respect how you manage your channel. Looking forward to more videos on your season

Thanks for the video, I think this is a great idea for those of us who use our own fur, cant believe I've never thought of it before honestly, I guess being a fella who learned everything via TH-cam or watching others..."thats just the way it was always done" so I had confined my thinking to the industry standard.

I started case skinning beaver, do it nearly the same way but picked up some tips which I appreciate! I do it to use the belly fur for liners, cant stand the idea of a synthetic liner in my fur products.

Man you do you people are going to talk even after you leave this place. Late them talk just do you have a game plan made up for your needs based on your projects to help pay for whatever. Take that hot gas coming out their mouths and fuel in yourself to bring more different projects 💯💯💯💯💯💯👍🏾

You are doing it wrong! HA! If it works, there is no "Wrong". I case mine too, but differently. It works for me and finishes up the same round shape after fleshing. I've quit a lot of the "How To" videos because of stupid people too. Really, I don't care what they think anymore, but it does irritate ya!
