This expedition into those creeks is getting more and more interesting.
Jeez, what a doormat!
Nice flounder! Early 70's, fishing Chesapeake around a little area called Grand View, a lot of evenings a couple of us would pool our pennies to get a dozen blood worms to see what we could turn up for supper. We were in the Air Force stationed at Langley AFB and lived out by the beach in a little duplex. Spot were plentiful and we'd usually catch a couple of them apiece, which were enough for supper. It was a nice break from Hamburger Helper or local fast food (though right this minute, I'd love a couple of tacos and a Breakfast Jack from Jack In the Box). But once in a while, one of us would catch a nice flounder. As soon as it was in the bucket, we'd be heading back to the house to fire it up. Spot aren't bad, but flounder.....ah, so much better. Thanks for the video.
I really am enjoying your creek travels. Thanks for the video!
Bro you're an incredible fisherman. My buddy and i are fishing this same area. And we get repeatedly skunked. Whatever it is youre doing, youre doing it right.
We need to figure it out😅
Awesome. Buying my first pedal kayak this week can’t wait to do this more and learn a bunch. Fishing out of the upper / middle eastern nc area mainly
Here around tampa , the sheep love the creeks , they are cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. If we cant find sheep on the beaches and intercostal, we go straight to the creeks.
Great video, what a great variety of fish. Looked like a perfect day to be on the water.
Thanks for taking us along.
Cheers
That was an awesome flounder…and some stud sheepshead too! Such a diverse ecosystem. Great vid as always!!!
Really great video, Elias. Loved it!!!!
Outstanding footage and what a variety of fish for eastern NC.
Nice job on this one. Really appreciate the way you spell everything out.
Such an interesting video. Of my favourites of yours to date. Thanks man.
never thought about the rain impacting the brackish water areas when it comes to the saltwater species. seems obvious but still going to keep that in mind. great vid Elias.
Really digging these estuary videos man
Lived in the Chesapeake all my life, been interesting to see what low/high rainfall does to the distribution of species and pretty quick too. I remember as a kid during a summer drought having baby flounder at my beach just downstream of Baltimore below the key bridge. Crabs in the actual Susquehanna river one year. Pretty cool stuff
I just came north from my place in Charleston to De. over the CBDT. The birds were working hard on 11/29 12:00 noon. Just a heads up. Great video as usual!
Wow Elias,so many species and great weather.
Love watching your vids. Would love to be able to get out and learn that type of fishing. Looks like a whole lot of fun.😮😊
Great vid and some nice fish! Thx for taking us fishing with you!
awsome fish!! this reminds me of a great memory taking my girl fishing in a brackish CT tidal creek i was teaching her how to fish for snapper blues with two inch gulp and hooked into one of the biggest flattys ive ever caught inshore. Thought i was snagged for a moment
WOW! Monster Flounder and some really nice sheeps and mixed bag.
You sold me on a pair of Waterland sunglasses - I couldnt be happier - they are great. I just went and ordered all of the Salt Strong lures you listed and cant wait to try them out.
We are patiently waiting for ice up here in Wisconsin. Thank you for sharing your world with those of us that are land-locked in the Nort'. Peace brother.
Well done, thanks for sharing
Epic stuff man!!
Elias, nice variety in that creek, Fluke, Sheepshead, Blowfish, Stripers and Redfish, what a couple of day's.
That flounder was really something, wow!
That’s some great action. Wish I had that type of fishing around me.
What amazingly varied fishing you’re lucky man ! Greetings from England
MONSTER flounder man!
great action...I love creek fishing
love your videos man, just wondering if you can make a video about your fishing techniques on sheepshead
You sir are one of the best fisherman that I’ve ever seen. Please keep these amazing videos coming.
Gotta love that Old Town holding ya in the current. Amazing yaks. That flounder was like pulling up a piece of plywood lol
Im really enjoying the creek fishing EV. I get into some narrow stuff lole that sometimes chasing trout when they do get narrow they're normally stacked.
The dad stash is producing some good bites ev, if youll man up a tad more and rock some sperrys youll really see the bite pick uo😂😂😂
Wow that's a door mat. I still can't figure out NC flounder laws.
This season was only open for a couple of weeks in September and one fish a day limit. There is a minimum size limit as well. I believe that NC changes the rules yearly so it’s never the same. I’m in Va, season is open year round with a 16.5” minimum with a limit of four a day. NC has got some weird fishing rules for flounder but if you watch Elias’s videos regularly he is constantly catching flounder no matter what he’s targeting.
Good...
Gracious...
👊🏼
love that backwater fishing!
I love brackish creek fishing. Never know what you're going to hook into. Drum, Flounder, Gar, Bowfin, Striped Bass, Sheep, Largemouth. It's a crap shoot. Never caught a Puffer in the creek though...that's a first. I went creek fishing Sunday and ended up finding the Reds.
Every dutch coast fisher and commercial fisher shat themselves seeing that flounder the start :O. Awesome session.
You got some great videos...trying to convince myself to get a kayak
Good job
Sounded like a muscle car @ 22:00 , maybe a Mustang ,getting on it. My dream car I’ll never see😢. From the surroundings you’d never think you were that close to a highway.
Instructive and fun
Big flounder Mann nice 💯💯🔥🔥💥💥🎯🎯🎣🎣🫣🫣👍🏿🤞🏾
I wonder if there was an oyster bed in that first creek and that's what was holding those sheepshead. I've noticed when they aren't on a hard structure like a bridge or a dock, they tend to be hanging around some kind of shellfish bed
No oysters there. Not enough salt.
@EliasVfishing were you referring to California sheepshead a member of the wrasse family as west coast sheep's head?
West coast of Florida
im always love to see you getting fish on 15lb line...
You sure can find the fish anywhere you go!
Dang ole, i didnt know flounders could get so big.
This is the only YT channel that requires, on a regular basis, that I check the spelling of "smorgasbord". That monster Flounder was outstanding. What are the odds of a backwater Bull Shark?
Odds are veery good
Nice video.
Slayer!!!!
Could you explain what you used to extend your net? I have the same one and need to do the same thing!
Custom built by a buddy of mine
You backwater Brunswick Co.? Looks super fun. Great vid.
No gators?
A few gators, but they are chill this time of year.
A friend of mine was saying that the sheephead are hard to clean. What's your opinion?
I been saltwater fishing for about 4 years now and I've haven't caught a sheep head yet
Hey elias, do that fishing spot has a croc?
plenty of gators
Did you switch from Waterland sunglasses to Costa sunglasses in the video? Are you dropping Waterland and going to Costa?
Sat on my Waterlands in the car 😂
Had to leave another, never noticed is that the eye of sauron you got on the arm?
If that was fresh water. Is there a regulation for catching flounder in fresh instead of salt? Im sure it doesn’t matter. Closed is closed. But it’s interesting. Thanks.
Both are closed.
💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
LOL, I wish I could complain about catching a nice fluke up here in NY
Red drum nice hack lls
monster
What state are you in?
Yeeeeeeeeww!!!!
You buy that net like that or did you lengthen the handle?
Lengthed the handle of the generic floating net everyone has. Plenty of videos on yt. Super simple diy. Half inch pvc, cap, jb weld, shrink wrap grip
Someone made it for me
Fished this spot 3 times now haven’t got anything. You sir have some secret sauce…
Meant to mention that they were stripers of course.
Omg you didn’t measure that Flounder 😩😩😩
West coast sheepshead?
West coast of Florida
❤❤
Im here at the 90 sec mark thinking, is he going for trout or flounder hes spending way too much time at the bortom & boom, what a mat
Id be willing to bet that if he threw a line in his tub at home he'd catch a sheepshead.
So that's where the sheep have been hiding
🎉🎉🎉❤
Repeatedly apologizing to a thrashing big fish that you're super hype about, a personal mood
Gator watching you.. lol
Many many gators
I think the gators think that a kayak is an alpha predator and wouldn't try to eat the kayak. If anything I think it admires you because your catching all the fish. Great video.
I am pretty sure that was a brackish water slam! An Inshore slam most places. No trout though.
Thats not a flounder...its a garbage can lid.
Why wouldn’t you measure that flounder? If not for you for everybody else viewing, I’ve been watching you for years. Make sure you look like you’re not even appreciative. Because down here on the Gulf Coast that would be a trophy.
Fish flopped on my deck a bunch, illegal to keep, rather not beat it up more since it was a trophy.
