My first dubia colony is EXPLODING right now but taking forever to reach a good feeder size as they do. Definitely going to look into these. Also saw you're vending the Flora Fauna thing, looking forward to seeing you there
Josh's Frogs is a great vendor of feeder insects! I have 2 tarantulas that would not eat dubia roaches but absolutely love the orange heads. I will continue to buy from them! PS. Thanks for the laughs while watching this ;)
It's quite rare I juse dubias, rusty red roatch crickets & flies. The babies require it :b ofc a monitor isent hissing better or they aren't available anymore?
I finally got my order in today. I did some research on these guys and looks like a good way to tell the difference between the males and females is the scales on the end of the abdomen males have one and females have three. They are both winged unlike dubia. Not sure if they can fly but Ill update after I toss a couple in the air. 😂.
I wish I knew what I was doing wrong. I just got a shipment of orange heads recently to try them out and they almost all died within days of getting them, while the dubias I got from the same seller are thriving. I threw most of the dead ones into to my isopod colonies but they just keep dying, and there are only so many dead roaches that my isopods can munch.
To be honest while I have a few enclosures with heat which deff brings the ambient up however say the winter I'm in New York and there are absolutely days where the room is more like 70 and I personally do not use heat pad on my Dubias I keep them near the heat of a lizard enclosure or just near some other source of heat I may have to when I break off one more time I have already split the colony and I'm not trying to be inendadted I just want to be able to feed my 10 lizards and 3 t's and maybe some of my outdoor spoods lol that I feed and let me tell u lol they breed
Another banger of a video. How do the orange heads compare to discoids? I breed a crap load of discoids for tegus and what not, but those leg spines are a turn off to some lizards. Do the orange heads have those massive leg spines like discoids?
I personally believe that it's more about how u take care of them I have started using organic potting soil in the bottom with most of the feeders I breed especially ones like superworms that the care guides push for u to use oats as there substrate and or bran either way can attract bugs and that is not to say that the dirt doesn't and won't just that I w noticed a massive diff in them all around

Old as i am, i know no YT algorithm :D But having learned that engagement is key- here you go 🦎 greets from Amsterdam
Deff facts that heat makes them breed faster and better but u said that they won't breed below 75 and I promise u they can and will
Wow great content on orange heads they are amazing more please
I love watchin this mans videos, dude youll blow up soon ong. I always use dubias so this is good info

Cantaloupe rinds are the dubias’ absolute favorite hands down. Maybe these guys will like them, too.
Also cucumbers
Great video! Thank you!
Definitely going to have to check these guys out.
Good choice!

I like the aesthetic of the giant roaches in that yellow organza bag with ribbon 🎀
It do be iconic

Just ordered some. I'm mostly feeding tarantulas and widows but dubia just aren't prolific enough
Ahhh thank you! I really needed this. I just got some canadian roaches, so could use the tips.
I wish I could get better roaches.. but illegal x'D

you left a roach in one of your bags by the way lol
I had them one time. They stink to High Heavens. They need high protein. Unless it was the death head roach that stinks which also has an orange head?

Why are people against using the water crystals? Seems so easy to keep them hydrated.
"Go home roach! Are you too good for your home?! Answer me!"
Can they climb out?
I like to call those one clingers larry😂
😂😂😂
Honestly I’m looking for a good easy roach to breed because my animals can not get enough of them.
Dude, if your living in a house with 20-30% humidity, you need to fix that.
I wonder if they can cross breed? Orange head dubia? Or dubious orange head
Good question! I'm not sure
