      hey justin, great work. I have a question. How do you change where in the frame you want to zoom in? For example if I want to zoom into the bottom right of the frame, instead of the middle how would I do that? Thanks! (any one in the community please feel free to answer please :)

  • @antonchernyshov8759

    One more thing to add. I found it better to tune the peak of scale effect velocity to be ONE FRAME BEFORE the cut (not at the cut itself), because when the play head stays at the cut, you actually already see the first frame of the clip, that follows the cut. If the velocity peak is exactly at the cut, you'll have more blur on the second clip, than on the first one.
    P.S. Bomb tutorial! Super-clear explained, not a single word off-topic!
    Using adjustment layers is super convenient to duplicate the transition as much as you need. Thanks a lot!

    This is such an awesome tutorial. Super simple and gets the to point, and the nice thing is that this works for all aspect ratios! I was having a difficult time editing with older footage in 4:3 because it seemed like every zoom transition preset was made for the modern standard format, but this fixed all of my problems. Thank you so much!

    Great tutorial! So easy and understandable! Just thought I'd share: I just realized that the clip becomes BLURRY AFTER THE TRANSITION IS DONE in my video. For about half a second. The reason for this was that I had made a long lasting adjustment layer that lasted way longer than the transition itself. To solve this just trim down your adjustment layer so that it stops the frame after the scaling from 300 to 100 is done. Thus the video gets back to the original footage instead of showing a zoomed in version of the 3x3 replicated version.

    • @aycarambaize
      @aycarambaize 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I realize this also happens in your video Justin, and I guess it's a matter of what type of video you are making if you want the extra blur or not. In my video it didn't look so good though.

      @AronBagel 7 ปีที่แล้ว +31

      I know I'm a little late on this, but here's my experience.
      I had the exact same problem, and after some tinkering I figured out that it was caused by an additional Adjustment Layer I used to colour grade the footage. I managed to fix it by cutting the clips at the beginning and the end of the transition, and nesting both the clips and the adjustment layers required for the transition. I could then reapply the colour grading with an adjustment layer and the transition looked just fine again.

      If somehow your video messed up when you change the top adjustment layer's transform-scale to 300, get rid of the top adjustment layer. Nest the 1st clip, 2nd clip, and bottom adjustment layer together. Then apply the transform-scale effect onto the nest. Fixed it for me!

    • @PxPunk80
      @PxPunk80 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine gets pixelated right when the adjustment layer hits, even though the zoom hasn't started yet. Looks horrible. If anyone knows what to do, we would appreciate the help! 4K video looks good then for a few frames it looks horrible, then the zoom happens and things look great again.

    • @A3T
      @A3T 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1
