    Your CAT just wants to be a You Tube star, I give him a "like".

      When I'm outside that cat follows me around like a dog. I have 2 barn cats, but this one is always around.

    Such a great little mechanism - I love how easy it is to replace!
    I might try making a 3d printed model of this

    This is a great pre-form tube release mechanism. I will definitely be using this in my next gadget cache. Thanks, Tim.

    As much as I want to tell you to take your time, I also want to see what else you have in store for us! Glad to see this video pop up in my feed and while I am a butterfingers when it comes to tools and construction, I enjoy your videos immensely.

    Very nice. I have forwarded your video to my two skilled and creative friends, so I hope to see this mechanism in a few geocaches soon.
    Thanks for sharing.

    Hi my friend, now I understand why you wanted me to integrate a servo to our joint cache. That construction is exiting, because so simple. I'm nosy to see it integrated into our Crazy Potis (US naming: Tims Crazy Knobs) cache!

    Just used this on a cache, but I made the "cabinet latch part" out of soda cans, and it works great!

    Love the idea!! can you provide a link to the vial you use? The ones I have found don't have the lip needed for the latch to grab on to

    Any part #s or search terms to help me find the right parts on Amazon? Particularly the cache container

      Container is something like this........ www.amazon.com/dp/B01CO42XXQ/ref=sspa_dk_detail_5?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B01CO42XXQ&pd_rd_wg=wGzq6&pd_rd_r=NQMHWY2D1G4GEZ23FCBK&pd_rd_w=pSaKD

      Thanks, I found some pre-firms that should work and I think I found the right cabinet latch.

  • @simonolena
    @simonolena 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    How easy is it to release it the "wrong way" by poking a stick or some such up the pipe at the latch?

    • @gadgetcaches
      @gadgetcaches  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Appears pushing a stick or your finger can NOT dislodge it at all. Latch has to be released.

    Very nice to see a new videos from you. And its again an idea I can definitely use.
    I already built the "Eat Mor Chickin" and the "The Key is the Key". Another one, which is designed by me is under construction - but here in Germany I have the problem, that people, even well experienced Cacher just want a quick and easy find, so they are not careful enough. My version of "The Key is the Key" was even stolen... and it was chained to a tree. So i keep building, but I don't know, where to place them :D
    Thanks for the great concepts! I hope to see the "three or four Videos" that are on the computer, very soon. ;)
    How do you call the white plastic part?

    • @CryXtu
      @CryXtu 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, dass versuche ich grade auch herauszufinden^^

    • @gadgetcaches
      @gadgetcaches  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Thomas, good to see your building. Nothing so depressing as to have your cache stolen. I place mine where there are very public. I find that caches hidden have a higher chance of vandalism. I work with the property owner and they many times they take ownership of the cache and "watch out for it".
      White plastic .... its a plastic pipe. Here in the states we call it PVC pipe. Used to carry water or other liquids.

    • @thomasrambow
      @thomasrambow 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh, I didn't mean the pipe. Of course I know what a pipe is, but I did mean the little plastic hook. Looks like a kitchen door locking system?
      The cache was officially granted by the property owner, but it was still in a forest. I am thinking about to ask the local branch of McDonalds to place the cache there. :D We will see.
      And by the way I am so jealous of your workshop. :O ;)

    You should start a store where you can buy the supply to make caches you'd probably make a lot of money. 😄

  • @Harrib2002
    @Harrib2002 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can you show us some smart caches

    • @gadgetcaches
      @gadgetcaches  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have been hesitant because I don't want to to mislead anyone that they are easy to build. Understanding the programing (C++) necessary to program a micro processor is fairly complex. I might try to show one for illustrative purposes.

      gadgetcaches Yeah I have a raspberry pi could I use one for a geocache?

    • @gadgetcaches
      @gadgetcaches  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, just connect a small servo to your Raspberry pi. Program your servo to turn 90degrees and return. Place your servo under the metal tab you see in this video. The servo will easily release this container. Now you just need to decide what you want the cacher to do to release the container. Sky is the limit.

    you could makean affiliate n amazon shopping list and make a few bucks from people shopping when they follow your link! I'm having difficulty finding those vials, but I know what they are! Those are the blanks that they inflate to make 2L bottles!

    • @russellmoore1533

      They are called bottle preforms, and you can buy them off sites like ebay,
