Wife just suprised me with my 2024, amazing. Pretty quiet, Comfortable ride, not jerky. I'll come back and revist the climate when I use it more. Weird drive modes diff unlock, 2 wheel, All wheel. I was used to yamaha wolverine 2x4,4x4, different lock so will see how I like that. It'll be a keeper I think.
With the new Expedition loaded out being more expensive than the Jeep, Bronco, Tacoma the list goes on. What does this platform offer that I can’t get with some of the above options?
On terrain where you could take a jeep at 10 MPH, a SXS with this suspension geometry, weight, driveline could go 40 and you'd barely feel it. It's purpose built. One of the disadvantages of having your daily driver be the same as your overland rig is it isn't the best at hitting the trails, you don't want to scuff the paint, and it cant take as much abuse. The Expedition isn't for people who want a jeep or similar. Its for the person who wants the best in class for all the vehicles they own. The truck that pulls the trailer needs to be first and foremost a haul/utility rig. That allows them to haul both their SxS (best in trail) and boat (too heavy for most offroad towing capacities). this hobby definitely isn't an everyman hobby. Also, that comparison is only valid if you compare the top of the line Polaris to the bottom of the line offroad-capable trucks. And even more so I only see that comparison when people add on the accessory packages, too. Most of the videos I've seen online aren't necessarily fair comparisons. They really are different products. If you wanted a Jeep that could Rock Crawl and trail ride like this, you'd be in way more than $45k. True you could buy a used one and deck it out and it might be cheaper but in a few years you'll be able to buy a used xpedition that will be even cheaper than that. The expedition is closer than I'd like too but I'll wait a few years to see it play out.
@@Jdog1681 my 2023 Bronco base 2.7 Sasquatch with hardtop was 44k. Your way of thinking is sound other than I can go from one trail to the next and you have to drive back to where you started and load up on a trailer. I understand they have great suspension but they rattle and squeak. For that price point they need to give people more value for the money and a $2000 set of shocks and a $500 gps with camera quality that was better in the 70s is not even close. Not to mention it will last you 10,000 miles if you’re lucky.
@@BigWheelFab Good points. Ya I see the biggest customers of these being wealthy folks, rental fleets, and people who want more than one vehicle to drive on the trail (if you haul one with your bronco, you get two rigs to play with!). There's also the fact that many trails are 64" wide and trucks won't fit. Definitely good opportunity to truly get lost in areas where the pass is too cramped for trucks. For the average Joe, The bronco is definitely the generalized best bang for buck.
@@Jdog1681 too be honest I've never been on a trail that I once thought hey, I need something 1inc narrower, cuz those trails are true side by side trails. As far as scratches I built my jeep to take the bush abuse. Th ere is no where this overpriced atv can go that I can't, plus I have comfort.
This seems to be the going theme amongst a certain crowd. If you can't afford a purposely made vehicle outside of your main transportation, then why waste time leaving negative comments about something you would never get in the first place? If you enjoy tearing up your main vehicle on the weekends have at it, but personally I have a few recreational vehicles for that purpose.
Does the HVAC draw in outside air like a car or truck, or does it just always recirculate the cabin air like the heater kit on a 2016 style Ranger does?
I don’t believe there are vents in the rear. I have one of these on order, asked Polaris a few questions, it has the same compressor as my 22 Northstar Ranger which has back vents but they hardly blow any air anyways. I’m hoping with the new way you can direct air flow at your feet or face it will help with the feel inside, the ranger just blows out of every vent at all times.
I think with all the comfort features of the polaris xpedition a Suzuki samurai has the same and is about 40k cheaper. A full size jeep is about the same price and is road ready 😂 these sxs prices are getting ridiculous 😂
Yeah that’s a real nice car what’s the frame made out of definitely not chrome Molly some steel that they make your backyard furniture out of that’s what your roll cage in frames made out of
Yeah it’s real comfortable inside the cab you can almost talk to each other and hear each other but that’s a not you definitely need about $5000 for headset so you could actually talk to each other inside the cab
I purchased the Polaris Xpedition ADV 5 Northstar it is a nice unit but it is entirely too loud inside the cab. The motor noise is super loud inside the cab, I should have went and test drove it instead of sending my son to go pick it up for me. If i knew how loud it was inside the cab I would not have made the purchase. I hope they quite noise down inside the cab in future year models.
With the seating position being low, I noticed the two guys in the this sit pretty low in the cab - which to me, is a bad thing for using this as a plow rig in the winter.... there appears to be very poor sight lights to see your plow.
For that price I could buy a fully loaded ford ranger lariat version with 4x4 and still have money left over for dinner and a trip to Florida and back. It’s cool but that’s too expensive
Love this comment section lol full of poors and people who still think a factory Jeep can even hold a candle to a sxs in the woods and trails not to mention a lot of trail systems don’t allow jeeps but will allow a 64 inch machine ! This thing is absolutely awesome not quite my cup of tea ( more into the performance machines) but gotta love the innovation
Two Polaris engineers that actually helped design the car talking about it like its all a big surprise to them is incredibly disingenuous. Otherwise, I think this is a great platform.
I have 150 totally miserable miles on this machine and regret buying it. I was looking forward to music while traveling through the prairie and you can not hear the music full blast with the engine running. I put 5,000 plus miles on my SUV each year and this is worst cab noise ever
You gonna need a loud audio system with all the polaris squeaks and rattles. Might as well by a jeep or bronco you dont have to trailer and can go 400 plus miles on a tank. My f150 is 10 years old with 150,000 miles and i spent less money on maintenance for it then i did my ranger 1000 in one year. Unless you got alot of money to throw away avoid this.
@Rocks N Ruts I have, and my governor. I think Polaris would have much better luck getting them legal then us, they have lobbyists. Plus go through the same stuff that cars go through. Do all the national highway safety stuff on it and make it a street-legal car titled as a car. It's already bigger than some of the SUVs that are out there
I Would buy but the price is just ridiculous
Right?
Costs the same to buy a truck lol
Why wouldn’t you want to pay 20k extra for some doors,ac and some power windows.sounds like a great deal lol
Your not smart lol
Yeah really not a good price
I think that with all the comfort features, the Polaris Xpedition ADV 5 Northstar and Ultimate will be the most desirable small off road vehicles yet.

When you're asking small automobile prices, has to be trailered. Its a tough sell. I'll give this three years, four tops before it's shelved.
Love the innovation! Can't wait to get our hands on one
Cab seems like it’s the most comfortable in the industry
What's cab?
Is the North star the only model with heat?
Does the HVAC draw in outside air like a car or truck, or does it just always recirculate the cabin air like the heater kit on a 2016 style Ranger does?
I test drove one a couple days ago. It was very noisy in the cab. Even more so than my Ranger Northstar.
Any vents in the back? If not does the A/C cool good enough in 90-100 degree to cool the rear seat area.
I don’t believe there are vents in the rear. The spiral bore is called rifling.
Great Information!
Put that dash & full doors on the xp pros i want the fast rzr but I want all those comfortable accessories plus pro xp with a truck bed!!
Is there a glove box?
I think with all the comfort features of the polaris xpedition a Suzuki samurai has the same and is about 40k cheaper. A full size jeep is about the same price and is road ready 😂 these sxs prices are getting ridiculous
😂
I've checked out both, the Suzuki is definitely not the same as this Xpedition.
If a person needs all this extra crap to go off-roading maybe they don’t need to be off-roading.
Is this beast only for speed(on gravel) or it can even do rock crawling?(my fav).am loving it❤❤❤❤❤❤
Is it quite inside it’s still a sxs noisy
Yeah that’s a real nice car what’s the frame made out of definitely not chrome Molly some steel that they make your backyard furniture out of that’s what your roll cage in frames made out of
Tell me Dave aint stoned to the gills. Guy needs some eye drops!😂

I would love to have one, but that price. 😳🤯
And can you talk about view lines

@@deltabravo1257 Alright
pat is ready for the nj shore w/ the fist pump!
Wonder how it does on a roll over?
Better than a subaru
how much

But you couldn't drive it over whoops at 40mph and not worry about breaking it. ....and it's not a ford! It's a win win
I love it but man Its like 90% a full blown Jeep at this point 😂

At this price it makes more sense to get a used beater suv.
Buy a old Jeep throw 10k in it and still have 40k lefted over lol
It’s a $45k geo tracker
Might as well be driving your suv
I paid half as much for my yamaha Rmax 4 xtr SXS.
Why don’t you say the COST of these new machines?
cuz they kno its nuts
Two Polaris engineers that actually helped design the car talking about it like its all a big surprise to them is incredibly disingenuous. Otherwise, I think this is a great platform.
Very noisy. Just got my xpedition xp and that is my only complaint. Please remedy the noise. 40,000+ for a rattle trap in unacceptable.
your speakers are amazing but you can not hear the stereo at all over the engine noise in the cab. It is aboslutey horrible cab noise.
I have 150 totally miserable miles on this machine and regret buying it. I was looking forward to music while traveling through the prairie and you can not hear the music full blast with the engine running. I put 5,000 plus miles on my SUV each year and this is worst cab noise ever
Polaris made a jeep and want 50k for it 😂
The guy in the driver seat looks stoned AF.. looks like he needs a drink of water

10 mpg buy a Jeep

This is literally a small jeep

Buy a jeep, won't break down as much!!!
so true
A factory jeep won’t do half of what this thing can do !
They are slow at building them
thats a car....
great you built a jeep, congrats, wtf are you all thinking over there
I would rather buy a Jeep considering the cost.
just go buy a jeep.... same price....
Dude, it’s a car. Might as well just buy a jeep 😂
Not road legal……buy a jeep.
You’ll have gone to far now…
I’ll just unsubscribed

No, please do not make an EV version.
