    Winter girl I like you but you don’t have the range to discuss colorism and you also have never experienced colorism from the point of view of a darkskin black woman. For you to say it’s a cop out as a biracial woman you need to pump your brakes cause that’s slightly disrespectful and dismissive.

      There are of course situations of good people helping other good people. If my friend didn’t allow me into her home last year when I was leaving my emotionally abusive relationship I don’t know what I would’ve done 😢 I pay her rent every month now and am still trying to get on my feet after all the damage he’s done but in my heart and my mind I still feel indebted to my friend for those few months. I hope I can make it out of this, come up and bless her with a few thousand dollars for her trouble and a huge thank you for everything she’s done for me. 🩷💜🩵❤️ god bless

      @@marielove4324 I think ^ she meant, even if someone says they will give it back, when you let someone borrow money just assume that you won’t get it back (whether the person said they would or not) b/c anything can happen. It’s kind of like an “expect the worse” situation. So if you don’t get it back then you won’t be as disappointed, and if you do get it back then great. It’s a saying. And along with that saying that goes hand in hand is don’t loan money if you can’t afford to lose.

    Yea I love you both, but I was taken aback by winters comments. Granted everyone is entitled to their own opinions but to say that colorism is a cop out is crazy lol we can’t sit and act like colorism doesn’t affect darker skinned ppl and coming from a platform with two lightskin women who have never walked in a darker woman’s shoes its offensive. We get winter has to always stick up for herself because ppl say she’s not black and that’s wrong of those ppl, but please never forget your privilege because at the end of the day there will be times you will be accepted before any darker skin woman.

    Love y’all-but those dismissive colorism comments weren’t cool. Raymonte’s shouldn’t have used Cardi as an example to get his point across but he is correct. Colorism is the main reason cardi is still relevant-her barefoot throwing a shoe at Nicki Minaj around millionaires would’ve gotten ANY dark skin woman black balled. I think yall should just speak from a light skin women perspective if you’re not going to educate/research more on the topic. It’s very dismissive to your dark skin audience who battle with colorism DAILY-like Candice and Wendy on real housewives of Potomac. This wasn’t a good take yall.

I also wanna say that your experiences as light skinned women are valid, but everytime yall talk about colorism on here you miss the mark. Lightskinned ppl can NOT experience colorism. I love how you broke this down. I definitely think biracial experience conversations and colorism conversations need to be very separate. it comes off extremely insensitive when biracial people are mentioning the discrimination and identity issues they deal with when the topic is colorism. our hard doesn’t even compare to the hard black people experience everyday. it’s only fair to acknowledge that they go through far worse things regarding their skin color and culture as a whole. not acknowledging the privilege that comes with being biracial or having more Eurocentric features is incredibly problematic! also not holding black people accountable when they uphold the divisive agendas that white people created is also very problematic. the longer we’re fighting one another we’re simply taking the bait. i hope they can get a darker person on the pod to really shed light and get a good dialogue going. winter seems very obtuse when it comes to the topic of colorism and i think it’s mainly due to the things the black community have put her through on the internet.

    I think raymontes point was if him and cardi are the same “brand of ghetto” then why are people stating that his ghetto is stopping him from getting brand deals? but hers isn’t? colorism comes into play because it is more accepted to be “ghetto” when you are lighter, have softer hair, softer features. the same way black women are called angry & violent but when Spanish women do the same things.. it’s seen as spicy and sexy. Colorism is a very deep rooted issue and I think a lot of people try to reduce it down to who people like more and who gets more male attention but is so much deeper than that. We are talking systemic issues.. we are talking being treated differently in work spaces, in different countries, in school, in life all because your skin is darker. I don’t ever see it as a cop out and I hope people continue to discuss it on big platforms.

    I think that there needs to be some healing on the COLOR topic. You don’t really owe anybody an explanation on what or who you are. Internationally lighter skin is preferred over dark skin, that’s the whole idea of “colorism”. It is important on how we view ourselves so that what other people say or believe about us doesn’t affect us or how we feel, even though it is hard.

    Winter, I think your opinion is biased because you don't like Raymonte. The overarching point is that it's acceptable to be “ghetto” if your appearance is closer to whiteness whether it's your skin tone or features. Cardi B is able to be accepted & ghetto because of her skintone. Yeah she does have “black features” but her skin tone is more on the white end of the spectrum. I watch RHOP & production is indeed colorist. I agree that colorism is sometimes weaponized & I hate that because it takes away from the importance of the conversation.

    with all do respect i think reymonte brought up cardi because the publishers wrote an article about him asking how’s he’s so popular that everybody’s tuned in to his birthday trip but had no big brands or companies contact him for deals and he responded and said because people see him as “ ghetto” and when your black ( mostly darker skin) and urban companies or people in general don’t take you as serious or what you representing their brands so u have to work harder vs a cardi b or someone who has racical ambiguity can be ratchet and ghetto and companies still see value in them not because their not as “ ghetto” as a urban more afro centric black person. another example is sexy red and ice spice they both basically present as the same but sexy red is darker than ice so ice spice gets more company’s and industry backing her vs a sexy red who’s seen as dirty ghetto ratchet. all though sexy has street support and rappers but she don’t have big company’s like dunkin’ donuts, chia pet, or walmart wanting to reach out and give her opportunities because she’s seen as too “ghetto”

    • @Daydreamerr13
      @Daydreamerr13 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah i’d agree but sexy and cardi are not a good example. Had he used better comparisons i’d agree. i still do on basis alone. however, sexy do way too much and took shit way left with her actions and what she represents. I like her as a woman, i do not like her portrayed image at all. And i love raymonte DOWN but i disagree with how he worded what he was trying to convey. Seen people on tumblr a decade ago make the same point in much better words. Hell, the convo been around 30 years, nothing new under the sun. It’ll probably never change.

    • @rellasleeze
      @rellasleeze 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Daydreamerr13 yes it’ll probably never change but discussing the issues does bring awareness to the situation and maybe more people pay attention. and why aren’t their good comparisons ? and sexy red and cardi has done some of the same stuff in fact cardi has done worse only thing sexy red has done was made jokes about her having a std, cardi has admitted to drugging and robbing men, being apart of a gang, paying gang members to beat and throw bottles at woman, told fans she hope they catch a!ds she hopes they d!e. they one of the same both urban one is lighter so she gets more opportunities and it’s not as bad or “ threatening “ as someone as sexy. cardi is prevalent in the urban community. why would he bring up someone who isn’t in a urban market or doesn’t desire to appeal to urban people?? gender doesn’t mean you can’t be brought up in a conversation if it applies it applies. and besides cardi is a perfect example she’s done horrible things to people and gets called ghetto and still gets seen as marketable but if someone like sexy or raymonte does half of the stuff cardi done they’re automatically not marketable because their seen as “ too much” another example is chrisean let her be dark skinned people would’ve been cancelled her. yes old conversations but still applies today that’s like saying we’re tired of talking about racism when it’s very much still alive today.

They use him all the time without payment or permission, but larger artists, like Cardi B do get paid and sponsored all the time. To act like colorism isn’t a prevalent topic and relevant is straight weird and it’s coming from two light skin woman and winter you CANT have a voice because your not in the skin
    Granted people do unnecessarily bring in topics where they don’t belong but we not ganna act like light skin people can get away with things that darker skin people don’t
    I get you want to be black so bad you want to act like all of darker skin problems pertain to you but they simply don’t and also you may face certain things it’s not ever going to be to the DEGREE it is to the other side and that is okay it’s not your fault it’s not to blame but to negate what people go through because you feel like people are trying to invalidate your blackness isn’t cool either
    I do enjoy the podcast but I absolutely hate when you talk about race because it’s too defensive for no reason
    Chi is from Louisiana and is yellow it’s a lot of people from there that look just like her so lay that down a few people commenting on her skin is and acting like people do it on a normal is bizarre and you being mad at pro black woman is crazy
    Also I’m from Texas and every dark skin person does not hate in light skin people I’m tired of that conversation as well I don’t care what skin anyone else is in but to try to shoot down what a person experiences to validate yourself proves people points
    And raymonte counterpart Landon who is also gay and makes the type of content he does has came out and spoken on his privilege of his skin and has said that he is also being called ghetto to which is valid on both ends
    You can still talk about the topic but once you try to negate something to validate yourself is where it’s wrong

    Now Winter & Chy we do love you guys but if you’re going to clock it let’s REALLY clock it. You’ve personally experienced others being dismissive on how you are treated as a Biracial woman in this world so for you to turn around and basically do the same thing is very disappointing. I don’t agree with Raymonte necessarily using Cardi’s name but I do understand where he was trying to land his point. It was more than just being called Ghetto. Let’s name ONE black woman/man who acts and carries themselves like Cardi B that has been able to walk the same rooms, have the same success and be uplifted by the industry completely like Cardi has been from the beginning?? No one, so I think that was just his point. Why would Santana be a comparable option outside of him being gay, he hasn’t even touch a drop of Cardi’s success or has had the same doors open for him so that wouldn’t make sense either. Also Cardi has openly admitting to not being black on her VladTv interview (that’s on TH-cam) before her fame but now she’s black? How convenient. So that may be a reason why people were confused. There is still a lot of prejudice behavior in the world towards dark skinned people, we are obviously not promoted or marketed as much as fair skin people and that’s just the truth as of now, so I don’t think we should negate that or turn a blind eye to others experiences cause quite frankly you don’t understand our perspective considering you both are lighter tone women. Each experience is different whether you are black, mixed whatever. No experience or perspective will be the same or identical to each other. No disrespect I love both you ladies and will continue to support!
