    The T/A Challengers were known for road racing. That’s what T/A stands for (Trans Am). They called it the T/A so they didn’t have to pay royalties to GM for the use of the name Trans Am.

    I really want the 2018 Mustang, but the Challenger (having ridden in one) has so much more head room AND back seat leg room for hauling the kiddos around - which is a requirement at times.

    • @goldpony
      @goldpony  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +27Zangle very true!

    • @BlargeMan
      @BlargeMan 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Get the Challenger man, I guarantee you won't be disappointed. It may be bigger and heavier but it's far more practical, it's arguably safer in a crash, and if you want it to handle better get yourself some front and rear strut tower braces, subframe connectors, and lowering springs.

    • @27Zangle
      @27Zangle 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My wife's brother rolled his SRT8 a few years back at a high rate of speed. He walked away like nothing happened. It was totally destroyed with only the engine, trans, and some interior pieces salvageable.

    Hey, hey! ✌️
    I have a 2018 392 Challenger with TA package. My dream car! I just found out I need a new battery rotors brake pads and set of tires and maybe blinker assembly! I think I'm being railroaded by the dealership.
    This ain't jump change on this kind of car I just had a uconnect system put in and my head is spinning.

    The 'Trans-Am series' is an automobile racing series that was created in 1966 by Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) President John Bishop. Originally known as the Trans-American Sedan Championship, the name was changed to the Trans-American Championship for 1967 and henceforth.

    Love these cars. Have you noticed any issues around the skip-shift in 1st/2nd ?

    • @floridamaddogg
      @floridamaddogg 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      nickdangr Skip shift is normal on all 392 manual transmission engines and the Hellcat. It happens between 18-21 mph at around quarter throttle or a touch less. It will force you to 4th, but if you feel 2nd locked out, let up off the gas for a split second and 2nd will open up. 2 ways to cure it. Either accelerate a little harder from first to 2nd or buy the Speedlogix skip shift eliminator. It costs $20 and it takes away the skip shift forever. I had one installed on my scat pack. I had a shop put it on because its much easier to do when the car is on a lift, but you can do yourself on your driveway if you have small jack and mechanically knowledgeable. Good luck!

    I just bought a 2017 t/a 392 yellow jacket. But my question is when I put my foot into it I'm hearing that hellcat "whine"? I bought it from someone but I doubt it has mods. Is this normal? This is my first American muscle

    So good-looking and a badass car, but performance-wise is the same as any other 392. Although the new Challenger 1320 has performance components from the demon, and is the quickest naturally aspirated vehicle available on the market. In fact if I ever replaced my SRT8, I would definitely consider purchasing one

    • @AStanton1966
      @AStanton1966 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'm guessing the black paint is more of a decal than paint, that's probably why you shouldn't wax it. I wouldn't let it stop me from buying this car. And besides, less waxing mean less maintenance/work for you.

    • @Doodooheadguy-fishing

      Scottie Odle okay name calling is cool. I understand that there are reasons for purchasing an auto such as drag racing, city commuting, and over all ease of operation. For me how ever, for me me not anyone else, i love being able to run the gears whether its a slow car or fast car. And dodge isnt known for making the best transmissions. Mine went boom on a stock cummins.

      Tezale Hall they both handled equally poorly.

    • @tezalehall2818
      @tezalehall2818 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Robertas S. Maybe, but at least they tried, look up history of the T/A for 1970 & The AAR Cuda smallblock 340, stiffer springs, and better tires, now the T/A from today vs scat pack hellcat inlets for air, different trim, optional 6 piston brakes thats about it! so the scat pack and the T/A are identical except anybody lookin at a T/A or Daytona Today is willing to pay more for nice features out of the box, The Scat Pack 4 bang for the buck buyers and cheapos, I know cause im one of them.
      There a was also Sema T/A concept from a few years ago that got alot off ppl excited they removed the back seat added rollbar as well and side exhaust i believe, thats car ppl where hoping for but it wasn't in the cards for the current platform.
