Thanks! No, def not good for Chicago style. That is much lower hydration and uses cornmeal to give it a different texture. I’ve made a few of those. I’ll have to get one scheduled! 🍻
Can you give an update on the status of your Yoder at some point? Particularly the rusting you’re seeing on the cover? I have had one for a year and a half and am now seeing rusting that i need to start dealing with. Seems crazy that only after 18 months I’d have to start thinking about sanding and painting it. Also, I followed the care instructions with the ACF-50 , keeping the grill covered etc that you’ve provided in the past, for context.
Did you do the ACF-50 every 3-4 months? My rust really stated after I was wrapping up filming in the rain and then covered it. I trapped the moisture under the cover and saw rust the next weekend. I lean towards not covering if it’s wet now. Wait till it dries out and then cover it. Yoder also recommends Mineral Oil now. I would give it a quick coat of ACF-50 and then some mineral oil. That will help stop the rust and give it some extra protection. Unfortunately, steel outside is prone to rust. Keeping as much moisture away from it, not trapping it under the cover, and keeping it treated is the best bet. You will be able to stop it spreading for awhile. I stopped with mind since I’m going to do a video on it. I also have over 225 cooks in under 3 years so it sees a lot of different weather which doesn’t help. Hopefully this helps! 🍻
Yeah. I did apply it every 4 months and wiped down the outside with some citrusafe every time as well. Rust isn’t too bad yet but it is clearly starting. Didn’t know about the mineral oil. I’ll look into that. Thanks again for your videos. Really enjoy watching them!

Your best pizza video yet 👍. Is this the same dough that could be used for a Chicago deep dish?

FaMag 5S Tilt. I think the tilt is worth it for cleaning. 🍻
