    I intend on becoming a citizen after jumping through all the hoops. On a side note, If you're entering the Philippines with your wife and intend staying a while, You can request a balikbayan visa right there on entry and best of all, It's free and valid for 12 months.

      We won't do it this yr, we will get a marriage visa. But the Batangas BI has no lines at all, no waits. You can wear shorts.

    Ned very good video,you got right to the point.On my last trip I had over stayed by a bit,which I have done in the past.This time they made me pay ,which was ok.When I got to the counter,she said I over stayed and needed to pay around 3000+ peso.So I got my ass to bank machine took out the money.Went back to pay and the next lady said needed to also pay 1000+ express fee lol.So the total is 4000+,back to the bank machine.I came back and smiled and payed.I had around 150 peso left over and just gave to the nice lady lol.Got my passport stamp and on my way back to cold Canada.

      +Ron Taylor Wow I was late by ONE DAY because of Holiday on November 30th.I thought surely they would not get me for a holiday I did not know about. Bud's wife was there sitting next to me and was soooo funny as she basically told me "don't bet on it." And told me her story of being later and having to pay thousands. I had a huge lump in my throat.
      Anyway I went up and tried to of course say I don't know about holiday in fact I WAS THERE @7:30 that day (these folks have more holidays) and the woman across told me it was holiday. They were nice they send me to the back to speak to the "man" who always seems a bit nervous and never smiles. Anywho, had to make a trip down to Metro myself. When I got Back MRS BUD was kind of waiting at the door and she asked me how much did they get me for, 1000ph. Her and others said I was very lucky.. I have just learned to smile a lot while there. Even today when they say 3200, I asked well I will just pay ONE MONTH, just knowing it would be half right....makes sense? 2700...HUH?????? I said ok I be right back, headed to Metro and came back a cussing but when I walk in SMILES SMILES SMILES. HA! THE PHILIPPINES.....WHAT CAN YOU DO. Smile, Pay it and head off to Dauin and hang out at the beach....after of course stopping at TRUE LOVE the Jamaican place for some breakfast. LOVE THAT PLACE.

    this video is wisdom for those who will listen, these people will do wonders for you if you show them respect and courtesy, It never ceases to amaze me when I go to renew my visa at least every other time there will be one person who does not follow the rules of civility and will compound this by being insulting to the immigration official on duty, but so far those who listen to them vent act professional and try to calm the person down and diffuse the situation, it is my opinion that blacklisting those who dont play well with others is a last resort, and if you witness this activity, please have a kind word for the official and let them know that you appreciate the privilege of being a guest in their country it will show them that we are not all jerks,this is their country, not ours and if we as foreigners dont like it here we can leave and go back to where we came from

These people have treated me like royalty every time l have been there and l get the feeling foreigners that come to the PH and cause trouble couldn't handle things at home and think they will get away with their arrogant disrespect here? NOT! Please love the PH or don't go in the first place! 99% of Filipinos are total gems! Good information that needs to be made known, thanks Ned....

    You missed a very important one. A fugitive from justice in his own country hiding out in the Philippines. When caught, you become an undesirable alien and blacklisted. However, if found innocent from your own country for the offence you were blacklisted for, you are still blacklisted for the same period of time as if you were guilty.

    I don't agree with some of the things the Fiipino government does but I support this law 100%. If you are going to come to the PI to bash on it and disrespect it then maybe you'd be better off out of it. Many foreigners think the Philippines needs them and their money because it is a developing nation. This is not true and it is no reason to develop a superiority complex and look down upon this beautiful country or any other country as a matter of fact. I think we should implement this type of laws in the US with some of the folks burning our flags and disrespecting our country. Great video as always Ned.

    • @michaelniese5842
      @michaelniese5842 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +LifeJourney who will determine what is disrespectful behavior? Maybe you and a committee of your peers will determine and dictate what behavior and opinions are acceptable in US society.

      +LifeJourney As a human rights activist one of the things that pains me is that I cannot contribute to the daring work that many pinoys/pinays are engage in against very real injustices without the very real possibility of being separated from my family. How is that fair?

    • @thewilliambarraza
      @thewilliambarraza 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Plan D Burning the American flag is not an opinion; it's a straight sign of disrespect to our nation, everyone who lives in it, and everyone who has fought for it. I believe in freedom of speech but some ppl take it to a whole new level.

    • @michaelniese5842
      @michaelniese5842 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +LifeJourney Arresting people for Arson or fining them for burning without a permit when they ignite a flag is remedy for antisocial behavior.

    • @thewilliambarraza
      @thewilliambarraza 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +mysticonthehill Not fair at all but if you're willing to stand up for what you believe then you should also be ready to pay for the consequences that come with it. The Philippines is not a perfect world, true. But is there such a thing as one? Even in developed countries like the Netherlands, one could say there are human right violations in the red district where anyone can purchase sex. I am sure there are ppl who strongly disagree with it and that is their right. Just like smoking marihuana is legal in their country (I'm sure the majority of young ppl are quite fine with it). Now, do I have the right to change this country as a complete outsider just because it is against what I believe? In my humble opinion, no.
      While I take human rights violations very seriously, I would do as much as I can to make a difference for those in peril but my family's wellbeing will always be my main priority. In the end, only you can answer your own question. If you really pursue your passion, be prepared for the worse and hope for the best. Have a back up plan to ensure you don't become separated from your family. After all, without one's family, life is not the same.

      This is a huge concern to me now your PC has to have the link you just did the video, i did find a long list of more people than i can count, very surprised by how many missionary's made the list.
      This is the link i used but could not find the list.
      www.immigration.gov.ph/
      Since some of what you mentioned seemed vague in nature i would like to see the list myself, most is pretty clear and pretty much about like the USA in nature, the highest number of black list seem to be people with none USA names that is at least a plus.
      if any one has a link to this i would be grateful too see it.

The flights are long, hence lots of people (including myself) tend to use sleeping aids, whether that's alcohol or pills. Is their a "White List" where airlines will detain flights from Manila until a special person boards the airplane? I once waited in Cebu for a plane from Manila to arrive for about 90 minutes. The airline announced they where delaying a planes flight for passengers to arrive in Manila Airport and board the plane. After 60 minutes the airline announced the family name of the passengers that were delaying the Manila to Cebu flight. If you are on a Philippines Government "White List" your time is more valuable than the common folk.

      LBC does humongous business shipping to the underprivileged relatives.... ( this is the humor part ) ..like towels, soap, sheets, shampoo.. you know things can't purchase in the Philippines.
      I've always wondered, can they ship anything back even just a coconut. ..?

    Ned, where can I get a copy of the time intervals involved in a tourist visa?? I understand that one must pay for renewals up to 3 years, and then leave for 1 day after 3 years. What are those time intervals up to the 3 years, ie. 3 months, 6 months, 1 year?? Your help is appreciated... Thanks..

    • @winuxworx
      @winuxworx 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your blacklisted for a year, you have to reapply for your visa and wait for their feedback. Upon evaluation, they will check and review your background, issue of deportation, and any unpaid depths your still accountable. If they think your good, then your approved to comeback based on whatever has been decided. Probably you have to pay for additional fines to get approved and/or have probation on your next stay in the country.

      Yes certainly happens...corruption exists from the bottom to the top in Philippines and there is little you can do once it is all in place against you.....they can make a case against you if they are connected and you will be notified at an address that is not your address and the court says you failed to respond and therefore missed your chance to present your side of the story...warrant is issued,hold departure order put in place and you are absolutely up shit creek...next step you are supposed to surrender yourself to authorities and be jailed awaiting trial...this can be years.........all the your paperwork submitted to immigration with your address in philippines,your Philippine driving licence,your alien identity card address is not used to contact or inform you of the case against you...your first knowledge of this may be when you try to return home to your native country after your stay in philippines and immigration enforce the HoldDepartureOrder.........so be warned everybody !!! Shit happens and there is nowhere to go for help when a warrant exists

    Its hardly surpricing, that it is a bad idea to get involved in arguments with police officers or immigration officers, when you are a visitor in a foreign country. Just keep your nose clean, be polite, follow the law and stay out of their internal political affairs - how hard can it be? I am not saying, that this law is necessarely 100% fair, or that no officials will ever abuse it. But as a foreigner you can go a really far way towards protecting yourself by just using common sence.

  • @ggi5658

    I agree nobody should go to the PI to criticize and bash folks and customs there... but seriously man some of those blacklisting reasons are pretty laughable to say the least. Seems to me freedom of expression and the ability to move around freely is a bit on the restricted side. I'd be scared 24/ 7 about making a damn mistake like spitting in public or scratching my arse. Perhaps they would arrest you and charge you, or blacklist yer ass, for forgetting to turn your car headlights off in the morning or some other silliness like that. Errrrgh no thanks! I think I'd rather go elsewhere. I went to the Phillipines several times many years ago and don't remember any of that bullshit. Then again I was in the military then, so probably it didn't apply to me. Funny thing though cuz during that time I got robbed three times by women I dated... I got spit on once by a hooker on the streets merely for saying no to her sleazy sexual advances... and insulted and threatened a few other times by people trying to steal money from me with their dirty tricks. I'm sure things haven't changed much since then. Hey I'm a peaceful guy but if I go there I'm sure the bullshit will just overfill around my edges soon enough lol.. Don't think I would be able to stay for more than a few days without getting treated like a petty criminal and having my arse blacklisted on the spot. Seems those silly rules were written by the government with one purpose in mind... to make men throw as much money as possible during their stay. The more "generous" will be allowed to stay.

However, if you are going to make that statement, at least say it correctly...its the REFORMED CHURCH OF LATTER DAY SAINTS that still practices polygamy. Thank you and have a nice day.

      +Douglas Carney funny because last month they was just on the news about a polygamous family being homeless do to floods in the area, wild fires and mudslides. So not every Mormon sees it the way you do. Still you ignored the blacklist about Muslims and 4 wives and only hit on the Mormon

    • @SteelerNation78
      @SteelerNation78 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Douglas Carney look at the areas of Colorado City, Utah, communities on the Utah and Arizona border, the new communities starting in the Ozarks and outside of Lafayette Tennessee and the rumbling in some MGTOW communities that are pushing for equal rights of multiple wives since the government legalized equal rights for gay marriage. So your 1880's ideology is wrong. My question about Muslims and Mormons was legit and just a question.
