I used to be a member of the Surrey & Kent flying club. Had free access to the airfield on both days. Went into the airfield on Saturdays and stood on the grass patch opposite the airfield on Sundays. Had to laugh one Sunday when some kids were blown out of some trees by the thrust of a Hercules transporter.
This was the best show of the decade at Biggin Hill's " Festival of Flight " shows. The " Air Fair " shows were the best, sadly the last one of those was 2010. Yes you can't beat being there in person, but I do try my best to make the viewer feel as if they are there. Full screen and volume right up 👍
this is an awesome spot to view, and biggin is great because its soo high above sea level the display ceiling is lower due to Heathrow and Gatwick airspace. its just a shame its not a patch on what it used to be back in the 90s and early 00s, used to be as big as Farn and RIAT.

@@bobsurgranny I was in the air cadets and doing my ppl. Have flown out of Biggin several times. And I was flying gliders at Kenley which isn't far away. And always had to watch airspace.
Yeah didn't know what to expect as I hadn't been there since the Hunter crash. It was pretty good, but nothing on 2010 air fair. MUCH LOWER flying than this, it was brilliant, best show I've ever witnessed.

Even how the red arrows take off is absolutely a work of skill!
These solo one at a time take offs were brilliant, you could really savour each one rather than em passing over together at once, different as well

There were a number of free spots to watch Aircraft but the Police and authorities had to weddle them down because poor parking and accidents
