    Much respect that you use willow wands. Making the ascent is optional, getting down is mandatory. It also shows that you highly respect mother nature as she can be furious when she wants to.
    I hope one day I can reach the Karakoram mountain ranges. It's always been a dream of mine to set foot one of the most remote and beautiful places on this planet.

      Hi leowara. From summit, Broad is covered by clouds, but it's located before K2 just in the same direction. At 9:20 min you can see lightly its two summits at left side of K2.

    amazing! that looked treacherous!! surely the mountaineering companies should have designed something portable, foldable, lightweight and strong to put across the crevacies?? did you jump that then use a wooden log? lol so risky!

    • @miguelnavarrete82
      @miguelnavarrete82  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure! That year the glacier was pretty broken and crevasses grew bigger so fast. That was one of the hot points of the route to C1, jsjs. Glad you you enjoyed it. See you.

    How many hours did it take you from Concordia to Basecamp?

    • @miguelnavarrete82
      @miguelnavarrete82  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jawad! Long time ago, but Take into account we set Goro I - Goro II - Base Camp as our 3 lasts camps before reaching the mountain. Concordia is located between Goro I and II, and the last day, from Goro II to Case Camp is the shorter stage. You can do it perfectly in one day. Hope it helps!

    • @miguelnavarrete82

      @@vodizzzle Hello again! It was a conjunction of couple of factors; I was alone to face an 8000er expedition and two good friends were going to the GII that same year. They invited me to go with them and I accepted, of course! That was the reason. The Baltoro glacier and its surroundings are one of the most spectacular places on earth.
