I enjoyed your video! It's great to get a real world perspective on the realities of battery swapping and from a local perspective. I firmly believe that, just as you mentioned, battery swapping is a crucial 'complementary' method in charging ALL EVs along with the usual home charging + fast charging. Adding solar panels on the NIO swap stations is icing on the cake and a very efficient use of available space. Now...if all the EV manufacturers would come together and standardise the above proven concept of battery swaps, the integration of EVs into world wide markets would become far more acceptable and more embraced. Looking forward to many more of your vids!!
Glad you enjoyed my content! I'd say many other EV manufacturers are just being cautious with their investments and observing the NIO swap concept, but glad to see many of them and customers awaken gradually once their comprehend more. Overall NIO obtained supreme fame among its users, some people here even mocked NIO as the "cult" since many of its users are super supportive and protective and preaching their friends/family about their EV.
NIce content. Love this brand (also invested 😪). In my point of view a real big step would be a drive through function which is possible but mostly not offered because of the space issues for the station I guess. Always good to have news form NIO. I will follow you from here on. Well done.
Thanks ; ) you are correct with the space limitation in some stations that cause no availability with drive thru swap. Yet some stations on highway service points are open for fully automatic seamless drive thru swap without any human intervening, I’d say they are upgrading more now. I’m exciting about this and would love to try shortly.
I know live doesnt give you guarantees, but I am waiting to see what thw future will bring. There is a NIO swap station within 10 miles of my house, but I am unsure if they will survive. I know if we all keep waiting they will not survive, but hey, I can only spend my money once. I am still unsure. Love the ET5 touring.
That's correct. That was only the prototype station tested in Shanghai region, I believe they'll renovate most stations with this vending machine or even mini cafe in the future, I wish to try that out soon.
A single charger uses 640kW and there are two. Also I assume the separated batteries are being charged. That is a considerable demand on the local power grid. There needs to be a big transformer nearby.
Another great video! Even NIO may want to use this for instructional purposes. Nice to see the table comparing the different generations. Regarding the high power chargers (max 640kW), I suppose when charging the ET5 with 75kWh battery, you are limited to max 140kW, correct?
Glad you liked it! Yes, the 75 is limited to 140KW while the 100 can get the max. 250KW output charging. I don't know about the 150KWh but I'll try that soon. this ultra chargers are technically built for all EV users especially those 800V EV or even higher like 900V.
For swapping batteries at busy highway rest stops, will Nio consider one-way traffic flow. Theoretically the process of swapping battery becomes faster as the car doesn't have to back out.
It took me some seconds to comprehend your comment : ) but now I did and I believe it's very interesting, I'll ask someone from their management about this any time in the future that I'm joining some of their seminars.
@@ransyoutube Sorry, it was very late or early here when I typed in the comment. I meant one-way as in a drive thru car wash like those in North America. For very dense urban environment, Nio's current battery swap station makes sense as space is very limited.
@@ransyoutube NIO said 60 swaps per day will make BaaS/BSS profitable, and lot of folk claim huge profits from power arbitrage from BSS to grid. They should have focused on regular electric vehicles instead of swappable batteries. Just look at BYD; they're competing neck and neck with Tesla in terms of production and delivery numbers.

Great content

This will be a reference video for this great company ❤
Thank you😄
Outstanding NIO conntent......... thank you.all the best from Scotland

Glad you liked it!
Like your video, keep it going!
Thank you!
I'm wondering if they will put a mini Cafe at charging stations. 12 minute charge gives you time for a drink and a snack.
Yes this has been tested already in a prototype in Shanghai last month, I believe they'll start to install that massly the other half year.
Nice! I saw a video that while you are swapping battery, u can get a coffee.

Indeed, the batteries inside could supply the power grid reversely during peak time.

Was the video shot with a NIO phone. Great stuff.
Thank you : ) most footages were actually shot by iPhone. I'd make content about NIO phone in the future fur sure.

Is there a good financial model for NIO power?
Hi there, I don't know what you meant by saying financial model, but NIO Power itself has been profiting for quite a long time already.

New technology is making the battery charge faster. We won’t need to swap the battery anymore.
@@NomadWalker-io3ne 👍People don’t want to go out of their routine to change a battery.
@@NomadWalker-io3ne 👍More chargers are being installed as we speak.

@@anthonyrobles7544 👍I used to drive a battery forklift and know that an old battery doesn’t hold its charge.
With current battery technology, it's much safer to swap battery at the station. Charging at home or at basement are relatively more dangerous.
Battery swapping works great for taxi drivers.

NIO need to reduce the battery swap time to 1 to 1.5 minutes.
I’d love to see that too, let’s see how tech would develop.
Don’t swap me with an older battery that doesn’t hold a charge.
Hi, all the batteries in the power station are constantly under monitoring and inspection.

Then it’ll become some random boring brand that compete in prices mostly, nothing visionary. There are too many of them already.
