I got rid of my kitchenmaid mixer. I didn’t like it out on the counter, it was hard to take out and put away, and took up valuable space. I make cookies, cakes, and breads with a bowl and a wooden spoon, and I swear it is easier. 😂😊
Our garlic press thing. We discovered minced garlic in a jar! 😂 I love the idea of clearing my counters and only replacing things I absolutely need as I need them. I have too many knick knacks!
I watch all the minimalists TH-cam videos. Just have to say I love your content and style! I hope you go far!❤ I got rid of two extra wooden spoons yesterday at your suggestion. 3 years into our journey and now I have the muscle 💪 to get rid of tons more. 50% down and so much more to go!
That means so much to me! Thank you! I love that my content can help you in any way! I just love talking about minimalism, because it not only saved me from a dark place, but has allowed me to change my whole mindset on life and to meet such wonderful people ❤️ Thanks for watching friend 😊
So many good tips!! I JUST sold my brand new insta pot on Facebook marketplace this morning. It sat in my cabinet for 2 years and I never used it once. It was a gift I didn't ask for 😂 I also downsized my cooking utensils yesterday and even took down one crock! Why did I have two crocks FULL 😂 Not sure why we do this to ourselves. I feel so much more free. I want to switch from plastic Tupperware to glass. I kept saying I was gonna switch when I wore them out. Well... I think I'll ask for nice glass ones for Christmas and then just yardsale the plastic ones. Why wait if I really don't want to use them anymore. 😉 Loved this video! I have a tiny 1956 kitchen I renovated in 2018. Added a gorgeous pantry, wall oven, and redid the old oak cabinet a beautiful mahogany stain, but it's still the same size, SMALL 😂 This was so relatable! 🤗 Have a gorgeous day!
OMG that's awesome!! I love that feeling when you finally get it out of your house and you see that clear space! such a gratifying feeling!! Thanks for watching 😍
The kitchen is my nemesis on my minimalist journey. I do like to cook, but I’m a natural minimalist. I like making simple food and using my hands. But my now mom lives with us and my daughter also loves to cook. They love kitchen gadgets. Before she lived with us, I got rid of my kitchenaid mixer, and then my mom got me a new one because she thought I “needed” it. I got rid of the second one too. Then she moved in, and my mom bought ANOTHER mixer. I really dislike them. They are big, heavy, hard to clean, have a bunch of attachments that also take up a lot of space, and I am perfectly capable of stirring something for a few minutes. At least my mom and my daughter do use it now, but I’m looking forward to the day when I can get rid of it again.
I hear ya girl! It is so hard when we have people tell us what we need. My brother lives with us now so I can totally relate! I love having him around but it’s been a learning curve 😆
We are in Australia. My husband and I have never had a dishwasher in our homes until this home. So we can't get used to it and just continue to wash up and wipe up every night. We discuss our day whilst we do it. I find it much quicker to fill the sink, wash, then wipe and put away and it's all done and you can relax. I find the dishwasher loading then waiting an hour or so then unloading later and half of them aren't completely dry, so then you have to dry anyway before you put away takes way too much time. That is just our opinion! Also I am amazed at how many people are using clothes dryers now. We wash our clothes then hang them out on the line to dry. We live in a very cold area in Winter and hang them on an indoor line overnight and the heating dries them. We don't own a clothes dryer at all as they are very expensive to run here in Aus. Best wishes to everyone :))
I didn't grow up with a dishwasher either! Maybe that's why when it broke I didn't freak out hahah We hang a lot of clothes inside but I don't have a line outside yet 😕At my mom's house she has a huge line outside which we hang up all the clothes and I love it because I feel like the clothes smell so fresh after hanging outside
I could stand to get rid of a lot in my kitchen! I think I am finally ready to clean out a few cupboards now that we have lived in our house for over a year! I wish I could get rid of our coffeemaker, because we don’t use it, but we have people over often enough who drink coffee that it would be a pain to put it in our basement and get it out when they are over!
It depends how many people drink coffee but before my Dad gave me my coffee maker I had a pour over coffee maker which is super small and so it fit easily in my cabinet. If you want to try it I can give you some suggestions. Hope you have a great week friend!
If you’d like to get rid of your coffee maker and you own a kettle, maybe you can just buy a jar of instant for when people come over. That’s what we do and it works perfectly since my husband and I don’t drink coffee. Just a thought😊
I hear a lot of minimalist channels talk about getting rid on the instapot but I love ours and use it multiple times a week. I wouldn’t mind getting rid of our crock pot and just keeping the instapot but my husband is convinced we need both! Our microwave recently broke and I feel totally fine about not replacing it. Which is definitely not something I thought I’d ever get rid of.
Love it! That is what it’s all about! Find the kind of cooking you love and keeping what’s makes your life easy ❤️ thanks for watching and your thoughtful comment! 😊
I'm going to get rid of a mini crockpot because it takes forever to heat and I also want to get rid of a small airfryer. I thought that I had to have it and I have only used it 3 times. It's just not my jam.
Aww man I have wavered so many times, thinking about getting an airfryer. My parents have one and I like it at their house but, at least the one they have, is big and wouldn't fit in any of my cabinets 🤣
I’m struggling to get rid of storage containers. I do use quite a lot for leftovers in the fridge, but I seem to have miss matched containers dotted around the kitchen.
I recently just helped my Mom with this! We got all the Tupperware together from around her kitchen and sorted through matching each bottom to its lid. If we couldn't find the lid it had to go. Now she has a shelf near the kitchen that holds all of them. It was a bit of a pain, but not it is so much more functional 🙌 Good Luck friend!

@@minimalease thank you. I’ll give it a go
What is something you got rid of in your kitchen you never thought you would? I'll go first my Instapot 😂
Nonstick pans 😅
Decide “I am not that person” and release items that are not a fit for my current life.
I love your kitchen❤ I think 60's kitchens should be "normalized"
Aww thanks so much!
❤️
I’ll work on putting a video soon! Thanks for watching friend! 😊
Worn baking pans, duplicate measuring cups
Yes to both! Though I’m in the market for a replacement baking pan because mine has been better days 🤣
