Anywhozzle, if you liked what you saw please leave a thumbs up since it really helps me out a lot! Which car would you like to see next?

    What a silly review. Plastic, plastic, plastic…guess what car interiors are made of? Did you say plastic? Yep, they are made of plastic. My BMW interior is made of…..plastic! My wife’s 500 has got firm handles so it’s either you got a bad example or the build quality of the ones made in America is inferior to the ones made in Europe. The interior handle is actually very nice, it doesn’t bother me a bit opening the door the way it is designed, keep in mind they gave the 500 a retro look and feel to resemble the one built in the 50/70s. That hole you said does nothing is actually a microphone you use to give voice commands to the infotainment system and the new models do have a nice screen in place of the old interface you have. This car is NOT a Ferrari or a Porsche so sitting straight is the better option so that you can actually use this car every day. Think of it as a pumped up city car you can use as a normal car having fun at the same time, if you think this is a sports car to race on a track then you got it totally wrong. The purpose of the 500 is to make you drive with a smile, that’s it, it was never intended to break any speed records or anything of the like, just a normal car to have fun with. I’ve had mine 13 years now and if and when my wife let’s me drive it I still enjoy it.

      You're right the ones made in Mexico for the American market are vastly inferior to the Euro-produced automobiles. For what it's worth, I absolutely agree that it's a very fun car.

      man, you are over the top on the fiat, the dude is right they are very fun but ive never EVER sat in a car that felt nearly as cheap as the fiat 500... but its part of its charm, you feel like it will just rip off and implode on tight corners, but its funny! lol... yea its EXTREMLY cheaply made, suck it up and just enjoy the thing

    • @jonsmidt3701

      Thanks Planetchain! Overall I’d say the Beats audio system is a little gimmicky. FCA could have put a much better system in, or at least made the subwoofer in the back larger. Overall, it’s not a terrible system but they could have implemented something with better clarity.

    I had a 2012 500 sport, which was quite problematic. I traded that in for a 2015 Abarth that I LOVED! Unfortunately that car was just as problematic, and in and out of the dealership for constant repairs under warranty. First repair out of warranty was $1,600, so unfortunately I had to get rid of it. Still miss that thing.

    • @jonsmidt3701
      @jonsmidt3701  ปีที่แล้ว

      That sucks man. What ended up needing to be repaired? Also, I too miss my Abarth, but I have a Z3 now that I like more haha.

    • @robertmontagna87
      @robertmontagna87 ปีที่แล้ว

      Under warranty I had to have the seat height adjustment latch, trunk latch, radio, steering wheel, outside temp thermometer, and rocker panels replaced. TFL speedometer would periodically not work. Back seat was leaking due to a faulty antenna seal, and just a host of other quality issues and I BABIED that thing. Got it at 14k and put about 26k on it in 4 years of ownership. Final straw was the body control module needing to be replaced after warranty. It was far too expensive considering the cars troubled past lol. I have an 06 xB which is bulletproof.

    • @jonsmidt3701
      @jonsmidt3701  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@robertmontagna87 Wow, that's terrible that you had to go through all of that BS. Good on you for going to a Toyota product, they sure do make superbly reliable vehicles. The final straw for me was when I brought it to a Fiat dealership to get an alignment, I got it back later that day, and I was nearly jerked off the road. The dealer claimed my steering column ecu module was fried- and they hit me with a $5,000 repair bill. They later offered to split the bill- I still threatened legal action because it was perfectly fine until they touched my car. The next day, they gave me my car back and claimed the ecu was fine, and that the issue was caused by a control arm bolt not being tightened all the way. Not being able to find competent mechanics was my ultimatum for getting rid of the car. I too miss my 500 Abarth, but it's just not a good car here in the United States. In Europe I'd imagine it's a far better experience.

    What you don’t know is the microphone. My 2012, I rev the red line on neutral, but then it is not a stupid auto ! Red lining a car on Park !? Find me car that does that.

    • @jonsmidt3701
      @jonsmidt3701  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup, you got me there! Hey, even in neutral the car doesn't want to go past 3K, but every month it'll let you do it once- just to let you know what you're missing. The dealer mentioned it was to keep the car from damaging itself- which would only happen if it were removed when cold. And just for the record, I ended up settling for the auto because it was nearly impossible to find a clean manual in my area.

      Just sold my 2013 Crz. Picking up my 2013 Abarth on Tuesday. The CRZ was a fantastic car. Incredibly fun, and cool looking with a touch of cuteness. Similar to the Abarth. But, the Abarth is significantly lighter and has more HP, sounds infinitely better, and is just much much more cool. Also, similar gas mileage despite the CRZ being a hybrid. I haven’t been able to actually drive my Abarth yet, but I love these small sporty unique cars (hence the CRZ) and I imagine the Abarth is going to be a significant upgrade.
