MGB Exhaust Repair

There's an MG in the garage this week with a rear muffler that has seen better days. It sounds pretty nice with only the center muffler, so rather than replace the system (which costs a bit and can always be done later anyway) or even just the rear muffler, the owner asked to have just a piece of straight pipe welded in.

Thanks! Tried to remove the exhaust off my TR6 this year to replace the differential. Couldnt get it apart, just worked around it. Couldnt use heat as it was coated in grease and oil. The previous owner had welded the clamps together.

Lol, that's insane. Who would use the welder on clamps instead of just welding the pipe?
