To Be Kind, Children of God and Soundtracks for the Blind are probably my favourite albums from this weird and wonderful discography. Cannot wait for The Beggar! :D
It's worth mentioning the "female vocals" are done by Jarboe, probably the biggest contributor to what swans would become other than Gira. So much of their shift into spacious, complex, and original soundscapes came from her. Also i agree that The Burning World is not nearly as bad as everyone makes it out to be and represents their transition into my favorite era!
I saw a lot of Public Castration footage. Any thoughts on that live album, I actually think it’s their best work. Possibly the heaviest record I’ve ever heard, and fixes the issues I had with the Greed/Holy Money projects with how it changed the sound and tempo
In my opinion, Swans Are Dead is even better. One of the best live albums ever. One of the discs is full of new and unreleased material, while the other one is technically perfect. Worth the listening.
i absolutely love the later post rock albums and more folky albums, but i am definitely a person that most alligns with their earlier career the most, still love every album though
@@TheGOAT-j9u by leaks i mean a leak of the finished product which is on the vinyls, review copies, etc., i get if you want to wait until the official release date, though i didnt personally have much issue with it since the vinyl owners had already listened to it (Swans sold them at their live shows) and I had already pre-bought both a CD and vinyl

@@mickyt8063 you can salvage yourself with a "second go-around" review in a few years once your opinion on Swans' repetition (literally a fundamental that you have to be on board with if youre gonna appreciate this band to the fullest) fixes itself.

I know the video is 4 years old, but you should've definitely done Swans Are Dead, to me its their 2nd best album behind To Be Kind

I still have yet to listen to that record actually, it's been recommended to me a lot but I haven't actually given it a chance
