McHale was an exceptional basketball player.
Laughed out loud at that comment "I followed him, like he owed me $20 dollars"

I know right ...Cliff Livingston is hilarious! Him and Eddie Johnson and I'm not sure who the 3rd guy was ....were the ones that were laughing and falling off the bench and high 5 each other ...absolutely hilarious!

The McHale 56 game was in part thanks to the fact that larry was playing against a particular former team mate named kent benson that bullied him when he was with the hoosiers. Bird wanted some payback and this was his game for doing just that so he kept giving McHale the ball and Benson was assigned to guard McHale so each bucket McHale made was at Benson's expense. 56 buckets! Now that is murder right there. All those times and Benson couldn't do squat as each time McHale kept pushing it. Honestly larry was happy to keep making Benson look like manure but McHale stopped when he could have kept going. That is the reason McHale pulled off that big game that night. Larry Bird wanted pay back and as a result he made Benson look like a complete idiot in front of everyone.
The Kent Benson thing went back to Bird's freshman year at Indiana - 1974. Benson was apparently a jerk to Bird, which was part of the reason Bird dropped out of Indiana in 1974 and went home. Benson was the MOP of the 1976 NCAA Tournament & the #1 pick in the NBA Draft. Bird enrolled at Indiana State in 1975.

Larry didnt talk trash ! He stated facts! He told you then did it. Case closed. Its only trash if you dont follow through. And as you can hear from many legends larry always backed his words with the skills.

I think the hardest about he played the game like U play a chest game. Mentally so strong even MJ he learnt his mental strength from Larry plus all his fingers was broken & 1987 to 92 he played with a broken back. Plus the owner player with a GOAT claim who had MVP, MVP of Finals & then on top Coach of the year for Indinia & CEO of the year Indinia.
As a Celtic fan, I love Larry. But I still believe he didn't fall into the trainer's lap. He knelt onto the trainer. Either way, a great shot!
Yeah, He was bumped and was leaning and backstepping, but I believe he caught himself just in time enough to not fall dead weight on the trainer.
