Hard to believe this will be 40 years soon. 😂
I was 12 years old...it was definitely a happy new year for me because I didn't have responsibilities like now at 51 years old 😳
I graduated high school in 1982. And I saw that stones tour end of 1981.
I saw the Stones at the Garden in late ‘81. Actually had to mail in postcards to be considered for tickets. So much easier and cheaper than what one has to go through nowadays. Much as I appreciate some modern-day conveniences, sometimes simplicity was better for other things!
WPIX 11 Alive early cable TV, loved watching Honeymooners, Twilight Zone, and 3 Stooges every night while in college.
"The Odd Couple" too, right?
And Star Trek
We didn't get cable until the following year.
I was born August 24th 1982 this was January 1 of 1982 Wow January Turned 39 Years old and I will be August 24th Wow can't believe I'm this old
@Ronald G I was born December 14,1977 so I’ll be 44. Talk about old 😝
June 16 1982, i feel old and turning 39
I know. Makes you feel ancient.
Not gonna lie, that "Holiday Movie Special" bit went on too long. And then you brought it back! Glad I stuck around for the rest, though. Nice work.
One of the first ads in this block ties astutely into the New Year, and the resolutions that go with it. A spot for Chinese food, and one the totes how they’re crammed with veggies.
I was a toddler. No responsibilities whatsoever. It was awesome. This was a year before my family moved back to NY from CT
All commercials and promos from 1981.
10:04 the first time I've ever seen a commercial for ASCAP. The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. Very cool!
I was only 4 years old I remember these old ad
HAPPY NEW YEAR !!! YOUR BACK ! hope all is well,,,,
The eighties and nineties were perfection
1982 my brother and mother both worked in Rockways Play Land , we had the Sharp GF-9090c boom box , Technics SA-205 Stereo Receiver, Technics SLB-10 turn tables, Sharp RT-10 tape deck, Ken Wood LSC-4000 spkrs...I had all to my self was great year for music and TV 1982 I found happiness

0:11 Wow WPIX New York I always love seeing things before I was born I'm a 1986 baby
I was in 2nd grade!!! I live on long Island ny. I remember this
Oh geez, I remember that ad for Starbucks. LOL
Hell, I remember going to Starbucks itself a couple of times! (Yes, even went on that big slide they had.)
They should have opened 10,000 locations!
I was surprised which one to watch because you upload so many videos.
Goodbye 1981 hello 1982
Strange ad with the Osmonds and PUnchy (the Hawaiian Punch mascot)!
PIX ringing in '82!
You know, I gotta wonder - between 1981 and 1990, did Pocono Action Park (Tannersville, PA) ever advertise? Even Great American Recreation's shorter-lived Action Mountain in Pine Hill NJ had TV spots at one point, so I would be totally shocked if they decided for Pocono Action Park to not have TV spots at all.
I remember this, I think the movie was "Oklahoma ". Don't know if Chung King" is still around, but the Stones are. 🎼🎸
I saw the Stones only two months before this! (Yeah, I'm old.)
Ah, the classical music guy (John Williams, the late British actor, not John Williams, the Boston Pops conductor).
My birth year 1982
All commercials from 1981 nonetheless LOL
Sorry.
Wow memories Eleven Alive WPIX CH.11, NY, 🇺🇸 🌎
The 120 Music Masterpieces commercial ran for years before 1982...
That Thrifty Beverage place is still there but probably under different management...
