The 75th Ranger Regiment and the Special Forces AKA Green Berets are both part of the US Army Special Operations Command. Well folks, today we’re going on an expedition deep into the heart of these elite warriors to answer that burning question: Army Rangers vs Green Berets. The 75th Ranger Regiment is an airborne light infantry combat group under the US Army Special Operations Command. Their roots are traced back to World War II. Their motto "Rangers Lead The Way" has some real grit behind it. It all goes back to D-Day, June 6th, 1944. In the chaos of battle, Brigadier General Norman Cota, cool under pressure, asked, "Who are these guys?" When someone yelled back "5th Rangers!", Cota shouted, "Well then, get moving! Rangers, lead the way!" The 75th regiment is based at Fort Moore, Georgia. The Regiment has seen some incredible action throughout its history... On the other hand, officially known as Green Berets, operate in units of 12, are experts in unconventional warfare. They are trained for deeper immersion in foreign cultures, working with and training local forces and conducting diplomatic and humanitarian missions. Their motto is the Latin phrase De Oppresso Liber, which means “To Liberate the Oppressed… Army Rangers are known for their quick response and light infantry capabilities. They're not just soldiers but a rapid deployment force trained to be anywhere in the world within 18 hours… On the other hand, Green Berets aren't your typical soldiers. These elite fighters specialize in a different kind of warfare: the long, complex fight behind the enemy lines. The most challenging is Foreign Internal Defense. They are sent undercover years before a war even begins. That's the life of a Green Beret on an FID mission. Forget rapid deployment…Ranger Assessment and Selection Program (RASP). This intense 8-week program is separated into two parts: RASP 1 and RASP 2… On the other hand, Green Berets selection process the Special Forces Assessment and Selection (SFAS) course lasts 24 days. move on to the Special Forces Qualification Course (SFQC), often referred to as the "Q Course." The program consists of multiple phases, with a total duration ranging from 12 to 24 months depending on the chosen Military Occupational Specialty (MOS).

@@DaveRiot true, the british special forces don't brag about it because they can't. over here we have a basically identical unit to the 75th ranger regiment. the Special Forces Support Group (SFSG) tier 2 unit that supports the tier 1 SAS&SBS in operations and also do domestic counter terrorism, so stay on stand by to overtake the police role in our own country like for example the Iranian embassy siege 1980, to join the SFSG you have to be a paratrooper or royal marine. They have to stay Anonymous just as much as 22 SAS. But over in the USA people literally tattoo on their arm '75TH RANGER'.

I definitely identify with the green berets but being realistic in DA not rescuing hostages, no one in Socom or even in Jsoc can stand up to the Rangers, they have more than 70 Jobs and their structure is infantry, a Ranger battalion has 800 soldiers and they were all to Rasp 1 or 2. In direct action this is my list from most suitable to least due to the structure in direct action because depending on how many men you have is your fighting power. 1 Rangers a battalion 800 men, 2 Navy seal platoon 16 men, 3 Marsoc 14 men, 4 Green Berets 12 men. But if we change the question and ask which units have the most experience and knowledge in ground warfare. The order is the following 1. Green Berets now 2 and 3 is a little difficult because the rangers in one year you already become a ranger but to be a Marsoc you take almost 2 years, and I put the Navy Seals last because They begin to take the basic of the navy which does not teach them practically anything about war on land, then they move on to Buds and there they begin to teach them interesting things, while at this point any of the units that I mentioned before have already gone through infantry schools and skydiving.

Good rundown except I think anyone in JSOC would be equal to Rangers in straight-out DA. Rangers get more experience and action with DA than anyone at the Tier-2 level, but at the Tier-1 you have: 1) Delta Force, who are 75% former rangers specifically because DA is their bread and butter and are the best of the best, even by Ranger standards; their speed and precision is unrivalled.
Then you have 2) DEVGRU, who 10 years ago weren't as good at DA as Delta but as I saw in an interview with a Delta operator, DEVGRU have worked their asses off learning from Delta to fight at their level, and according to that Delta operator they have recently equalled-out. 3) ISA & 24th STS who embed with Delta and have to do everything Delta can do, and 4) Ranger RRC, who of course are Tier-1 Rangers.
