The majority of my wardrobe is 2nd hand. Some of it is purchased on sale racks, some I have sewed myself. Cashmere and wool is always secondhand for me, you save so much money. Same with linen button ups and shirts. I have some gorgeous designer dresses I found secondhand also - I’m a dress enthusiast. 🥰 One day I hope to come to London and visit some charity shops. I’ll bring an empty suitcase. 😂👍
Hi Monica, if you come to Toronto in the colder months, the vintage/upcycle market at the St. Lawrence market has a booth selling just cashmere. Every second Sunday.
Thank you Monica! You are a natural professional stylist, you just have an eye for fashion and style and originality and classic & funky looks. Another fun vlog and you looked really nice.
One of my favorite second hand pieces is a fur lining from a couture Bill Blass coat. Actually had the label sewn on it but it was in the vest rack for $4.99. Wear it almost every day in winter. I have so much second hand cashmere that I started wearing it to lounge around the house in winter.
Hello Monica, another very good video. Particularly like the Blazers and it's nice to see you in the outfits too. Good advice re buying second hand jewellery! The earrings your Husband bought you are beautiful. Am really enjoying your videos and down to earth style.... but with a little twist of glam.
I found you to be delightfully down to earth, and today, you have clarified the mystery; you are half Canadian!😂. It makes total sense. I enjoy your intelligent content, always.
Hahaha! That’s hysterical, well I’m so glad you think so - I am flattered! i shall pass the kind remarks on to my Canadian family (my mum and her side) ♥️✨ thanks for the kind comment xx
hi Monica. I love stripes in clothing and the dress you are wearing is just a delight as well as the shirt. I love the watch too and seriously want to purchase. You are right it looks way more expensive!!. Happy Sunday Monica, Take care and i look forward to seeing you in the next. Xx
This is the neat thing about trends being on repeat. That leather jacket would have been considered hideous ten years ago, but then the 80s and 90s started coming around again.
Hay I’ve just found you & im bing watching your videos! Loving them . My grandson just came in & said he would like to go see a few second hand shops - so we are off doing that tomorrow! ( school holidays here in Australia 🇦🇺) but I’ve never known anyone to name a pair of earrings before- but I have a pair I call. My ‘George Micheal s ‘ !! There my age showing 😅- subscribed !! 😊
Wow Monica, you have soo many great ideas…and you give confidence and conviction as well…..I’ve been thinking about wearing a beautiful Harris green tweed jacket I thrifted (£14 ) for my husband …he has never worn it….it does have 2 vents tho….thats what puts me off…. All your info on the jewellery was terrific…..thank you ❤️it’s great to see you styling things up….❤
I have some of my mother’s earrings from the forties and fifties. She was fond of copper and pewter. My favorite pair she told me she bought at Woolworths. I always get compliments on them when I wear them..they are screw on and painful as heck.
HI MONICA LOVE THE VIDEO THE BLAZERS ARE LOVELY THAT DRESS LOOKS LOVELY I LIKE JACKETS AND BLAZERS RECENTLY GOT A BEAUTIFUL M&S COAT FOR WINTER ONLY £6
👏🏼 Lovely video! Great advice! I always look for coats/jackets, brand new good quality shoes (Ecco, Gabor etc) and leather handbags. They’re all items that cost a lot of money new! But my favourite things to find are beautiful table lamps and silk pleated lampshades (Laura Ashley etc). If I find those I’ve had a very good day 😂💚🧡
Love your videos. How interesting that you have family in Toronto! Like you, I live in Ipswich but I grew up in Toronto. Looking forward to your next video.
Thankyou Monica 💖 You have amazing hints and tips on your channel. Some i would never even thought off. Hope you do not mind, but, i came across your Channel Thanks to your Friend Leonora. You are both amazing together , full of laughter and smiles all round. Cannot wait to check the links out. Love Toronto, Monica, visited there few years ago, when staying in Grand Island New York. Have been shopping in Treasure shops , 😊 Charity shops for a few years now, and you are so right, i always find brand new items , next, marks and spencer, wallis, gorgeous brands like you show , sometimes, it just makes sense to save -up for a special piece of clothing , ect, and save on the rest. Sending Lots of Love 💖🩵💖🩵
Such good finds! You really have an eye for great pieces. You’ve also inspired me to come back & be more consistent on TH-cam! Amazing video girlie, have a lovely evening 🤍
Thank you so so so much Monica for motivating me and your videos are really really unmissable you are my truly truly inspiration😭🥹♥️♥️ and I will support you so so much
Hello Monica I absolutely love the blazers and the jewelry 😊 Thanks so much for sharing! I love using your secondhand tips on Depop especially! I just recently purchased a pair of JC mulder boots that I’ve had my eye on for a while now. Would you be able to show us how to style them on a future video? That would be amazing if you could! Cheers ❤️
Hi Monica, I came across a vintage Wool pencil skirt recently by Dolce and Gabbana recently £7.50. Very fortunate for me. The only thing about jackets and other certain pieces is that they have to be dry cleaned. Usually more expensive than the garment itself😞
Fantastic! You look amazing! Do you spend money on dry cleaning the blazers? If so, how much is that approx? Also, are you wearing the largest Monica watch in this video? It looks great. Sorry about all the questions!
Thank you, haha no problem at all ♥️! It depends 🥰..so I do if they’re require a proper deep clean, but sometimes I just steam them myself at home to kill off the bacteria. Yes! I’m wearing the ‘monica large’ - I have linked the exact one below in the caption 🥰 Monica xx
@@themonicaway. Thank you so much! Ah...hadn't thought of steaming them at home. Great way to clean them. They looked like they'd cost hundreds. Stunning.❤️
New subscriber! Just found your videos and really enjoying them - great content and presentation. As someone with a new TH-cam channel, it's nice to follow someone who is further down the path - goals! I have definitely learned a few things I'll be applying, thanks! 😃
Hi Sweetie... another lovely and informative video. I have a question.... I would like to purchase an oversized blazer... ladies blazers don't look right on me.... if I were to purchase a man's blazer should i get one the same as my chest size or go one size bigger? xxx
Hello! Thanks so much for your kind words. In an ideal world, it would be best if you could close up the blazer buttons BUT if you feel it’s more flattering in your true to size (without the buttons able to be done up) and you don’t mind it being always worn open, take that route! There’s no right or wrong answer - I would say it’s whoever you feel happiest and most confident in! A larger size would enable you to layer with it in winter though! Hope that helps xxx
I have NEVER found Cashmere that doesn't "pill"!! What is the trick? I've purchased expensive, well made cashmere and it doesn't seem to matter!! I'm not hard on clothing (I have a T-Shirt that is 55 yrs old-still fits, it's a "Hang Ten") that I wore the H*ll out of. It's in great shape & now I'll wear it very rarely. So: what is the secret to cashmere? I take excellent care of my clothes, etc. Cashmere drives me nuts!!
Hello! Yes, its one of the downsides to cashmere but I do find buying a decent pilling machine (amzn.to/3VECjiE), washing in COLD water & air drying are all ways to reduce pilling! Hope that helps xxxx
Hi there! I haven’t, I usually just roll them up a little on the sleeves. If you prefer to wear them full sleeved you could very easily have them altered and turned in - it shouldn’t cost too much xxxx
Hello Monica, I have been watching seversl of your videos lately. I enjoy them but just wanted to ask you if you could please try and speak a little slower? I understand what you are saying but you have a tendency to speak on the fast side a lot of the time. Thank you.
Thanks so much! I can certainly try but I naturally do speak quite quickly and enthusiastically! You can also watch the video slowed down in the settings and with subtitles if you’re ever struggling to catch what I’m saying ♥️ I hope this helps. Monica xx

Notice the plaids matching on that jacket. That’s quite a bit with a plaid that big…no fast fashion brand would “waste” fabric doing that.

Why buy stuff that is cheap anyway second hand much better to concentrate on more high end stuff to save money.
Exactly 🥰 I like to have majority preloved and then very occasionally buy first hand 😊
