This year, I used only Hobo Cousin so far - except for the summer, when I was less busy and played with bujo. I have full year Cousin for 2024 and bought an Avec for 2025 :)

Nice! I used to use a bujo but since getting my cousin, I haven’t wanted to go back. I tend to use a planner less if I visually don’t like how the spread looks and I realized when I had to create all my spreads in a bujo I never really liked how they looked. Did you decide to get an Avec instead of the cousin because of the bulk?

I've been using hobo weeks for a planner for a few years, still love it. I'm retired so don't have a really busy life any more but it suffices for what I have going on. Especially useful for future planning, tasks, lists, and tracking, it has been a great help in my day to day. I also have a hobo A6 for daily highlights and creative journalling. I just keep it simple and that works for me.

Nice! I love when you get a planning routine down! I am really thinking this next year the A5 Avec will be everything I need…but that could 100% change once the 2025 lineup comes out! Thanks for watching and commenting 😊

I have had a Cousin for 2 years now and I can honestly say it is my planner peace. I have used many different planners over the years and I will not go back to another planner. I love the Hobonichi Cousin.

Me too! I think another planner needs to be amazing to bump Hobonichi down from the top spot! Thanks for watching and commenting.

I bought a passport that did not last, I got a weeks size and it is thriving. A6 full year got too chunky and got replaced with a 1/2 year A5. All are from Sterling Ink. I love that there are no colors on the pages and no foreign language taking up part of the page. I think I will continue with the A5 two parter but time will tell.

I wish Hobonichi Avec had an English version like the full year. Maybe it’ll come out in that version soon…

I have a Kinbor A5 that i journal in daily. I tip in a ton of stuff, some very thick. In June, the bump was so hard to write on. I found a trick, though. Both the hobonichi and my kinbor can take bending the spine back and flipping pages (a month or so) back to move the "middle" of the book to current pages. This allows me to write without a bump on the side of the page.

I have seen people do that and in 2023 when I was in the full year Cousin I was thinking about doing that but I was just too nervous. I know people do it without issue but I just couldn’t make myself do it. Good trick for people who do have thick planners. Thanks for sharing!!!

Heidi I am very interested in how you manage your work planner along side your personal planners. I will be starting a part time job that also will require traveling. So will need portable work planner. However, while I am traveling will be needing to make a lot of personal appointments. I play tennis and pickleball and require making appointments constantly. I am interested in how you would manage something like this. What planners would you choose?

I work a full time job and in my Cousin I block off that time as work but if I have personal appts within my worktime, I do block off those hours within my work section so I know I am out of the office during that time frame. My work planner is a basic planner that I show my meetings and any to-do items I have for each day but it doesn't link to my Cousin.
If you are looking for something on the go to use that is portable, you could use a Hobonichi Weeks. However if I was in your place, I would use a Cousin (or whatever planner would work for you) and just block of your work hours and then add in your personal appts before or after your work and travel. That way you can see what gaps you have for new appts outside of work, travel, and your existing appts.
