Hey Davi.. been a while. I would definitely check the fuel pressure. You can rent a tool for that. Also have you checked the plugs and wires? Last.. If you have a big cooler, use that to stand on when you do work.. that's what I do for my truck. I did find me a '99 2 door sport.. Going to be doing a lot of brake work this weekend. Replace the brake Booster, replace and upgrade the brake reservoir, brake flush and then new rotors and pads. (Get rid of squishy brakes) Hope you find the cause for your trouble.
That sounds like an ignition misfire, immediately followed by back from the misfired cylinders charge being pumped into the caught, and fired by the next live cylinder. If u haven’t had your ignition system apart, take a look at cap, wires, rotor, plugs. Test the coil, and ignition control module. It behave to me like a worn out cap and rotor or a bad ICM
@@davi.tattoos Yeah, but they look awesome, handle great, and are very COMFORTABLE to drive. Short wheel base, V8, 4x4 with no blind spots (if you get the non-barn door version) I love mine.
Get that checked out and let me know on the video if that's what's the problem cuz I believe that's the problem with mine too it sputters and backfires just like that let me know if that's it
Yo buddy check fuel rail pressure if not fuel pump it probably catalytic converter I got a 99 tahoe do u gave any codes mine sounded like that years back ended up being the fuel pump wasnt putting out enough pressure no check engine light came on

Distributor. My 97 Sierra did the same. Took it to dealer, new part all is well.

This is what scares Me about buying one of these trucks I heard they have alot of fuel issues
I wasn’t fuel it was a simple vacuum leak from the valve cover, but yes they are 27+years old and will have issues. Unless you LS swap the engine

I have a 97 Tahoe 4wd and it does that and I did everything and it ends up being my fuel pressure regulator
