What if the great sin is icarus dying by the hands of towerborns who protested against jahad and the FH's for closing the door and not climbing further? Maybe they wanted to forget because icarus was the most tight towerborn with the FH's and with ameuz dying (another good towerborn friend) was the last draw towards them seeing the tower inhabitans as bugs/vermin.

This would warrant "THE SIN" that FL's would definitely try to forget in order to rule the tower + i think this is where V & arlene seperated because icarus was the most closest to them. This is to me seem more logical as icarus wanted to see "THOSE STARS"
