- Yes, it snows in Australia!! In the High Country many of the mountains have snow during the winter. There are several ski resorts in NSW and Victoria: Mount Hotham, Mount Buller, Falls Creek, Thredbo and Perisher. It's a long cold winter here in Albury, a two hour drive can get me to some of the snow fields, here I visit Mount Buffalo, where tobogganing, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are catered for .........and it's all free!
