I tried one of these and it was overpriced junk! Thin, veneer fingerboard and stupid truss rod design.

Imho La Bellas fits on a fretless bass. They are too muddy for precision. I'm awaiting the Thomastiks to try them !! Hope they have better clarity

For me, definitely the older sound better, that's not to say the new sound bad though. Both sound great but I prefer the older.

Beautifull ! But flatwounds sucks...high string tension is not suitable for neck...beware !

My favorite: Tone Up: Fender Tone off: TI, with Fender a close 2nd Pick: Fender In the US Fender flatwounds cost about the same or even less than a lot of rounds. I bought several packs when they went on sale at Guitar Center for $5. My only gripe about the Fenders is they don't sell a standard 105-85-65-45 set.

Almost as good as round wounds.

There's an difference, so it depends on what you need, if you want to make it a little bit brighter then definitely flats can be changes to a newer ones. I'm using old ones because on my P I'm mostly playing with my fingers. What's most important, in my opinion, is to have appropriate amp, preferably a one with classic tubes to bring that heat into the sound. A classic solution.

In the hands of someone who knows how to play any string it sounds very old or new, very good!!😅

Fender and LaBella

Il Nate Mendel ha una botta pazzesca e un comfort impareggiabile. Il manico è una riproduzione fedele del manico tipo “C” dei primissimi anni ‘70, so quello che dico perché ho un Precision del 1970 completamente originale.

Pino for me. ❤ 65 is nice, but too ballsy for my tastes. Pino sounds so smooth and rich.

La batteria si sente bene ...

I would love to hear the 65 with some Dunlop Flats!

REAL Vintage never disappoint..the sound is more open than the Pino's , why spend almost the same money for a FAKE vinatge that do not sound as good ?

Thomastik JF344 best flats as always without doubt .. need to try Optima RB however

Pino’s the better sounding bass IMO. But the price is too high

The 65 is a lot more aggressive. Both sound good, but the 65 is the clear winner.

Pino Signature P Bass all the way. By far the best Fender Precision Bass in production for a very long time.

I love the sound of both. String types can make a huge difference in the sound. Sounds like the Pinot may have flats and the other rounds. Both find their place in the mix beautify.

I have both, same strings on both, and I love my 65 but...the neck on the PP is deeper and IMO better. The best fender cs neck/bass ever made, for me anyways.
