My loved one was diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer in 2018. Had a Whipple procedure followed by six months of two adjuvant chemos, then radiation along with a single chemo. He remained NED for one year, then tumors appeared in his lungs. Then six more months of chemo, which did shrink all of the tumors and delivered stable disease. He was taken off chemo for four months to allow his body to recover. Now new mets to both lungs. Currently having SBRT on three lung tumors. Oncologists are cautiously optimistic . In fact, they are amazed he is still alive and doing well despite these new tumors. He is still beating the odds against this savage disease.
@@guruprasad7184 His cancer is adenocarcinoma. Immunotherapy has not been given. He is now on Gemzar infusions as treatment continues. His oncologist has mentioned Folfirinox or Gemzar/Abraxane as next treatment option.
@@guruprasad7184 I have searched for encouraging stats on immunotherapy for pancreatic cancer. I have not found any stats that indicate immunotherapy has been proven as a breakthrough in treating pancreatic cancer.
I had 3 months chemo & Whipples surgery in may, then a further 3 months chemo, my tumour markers started to rise rapidly after the 1st month back on the chemo, cancer has returned snd is inoperable & incurable, i will be doing radiation for a week starting early November to hopefully give me more time. I’m looking for any clinical trials here in Australia. Update: I decided to do Genomic testing to see if I have a gene mutation, it’s self funded here and quite expensive but worth it if it is genetic as there could be a treatment for my gene type.. we are not all the same, my sample is being sent to the USA to be tested and I should have a result by January.
Hi Beverley. We're sorry to hear that. We have a clinical trial finder that focuses on the United States although some trials are international. www.cancerresearch.org/en-us/patients/clinical-trials Here's the Australian government clinical trials finder: www.australianclinicaltrials.gov.au/anzctr_feed/form You may be able to contact a clinical trial navigator at a major research hospital. We wish you the best of luck!
Update: the radiation did not work, it initially showed that I was clear in the pet scan but my ca19.9 was up to 5000, the next ct scan a month later showed that the cancer had returned, a month later it has grown and there is also a small mark in my liver, tumour markers up to 7000 and I will be starting chemo again in 3 days.. immunotherapy will cost $6000 every 3 weeks here in Australia and is recommended for 2 years there are no immunotherapy trials here and $220,000 is out of reach.my genome test showed that I don’t have a gene mutation.
Pancreatic cancer, the silent killer. A rare but deadly killer. Knew someone that I was very close to died from this. She was the most wonderful person I ever knew. She never had a chance. She never complained, she had a name, Her name was Wendy Koop, age 54, who died on 16 October 2006.
Thank you for this. Three days ago my best friend was diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer that has spread to the liver. She will receive immunotherapy as first line, and I’ve been researching Ovinyde for second line, even though we’re in Canada where it’s not available. We’ll travel anywhere! Do you have any thoughts on Ovinyde? She is beautiful, vibrant, and only 48. Again, thank you so much for this video 💕

I don’t have cancer but hope the cancer victims survive!
I’m going for a CT scan to identify if I have a possibility of cancer this morning. This is scary stuff. Best of luck with your research
Thank you and we wish you the best!

GPL Who much is the cost of the CT?
