Nope. Just spent $335 for the Audeze Penrose. Think that’ll do me good for a while. Lol!
Picked them up for $160 so I am happy with them. I work from home and game. I am buying wireless for the wireless aspect, not plug them in while using them. Working 10-12 hours a day most headsets are dead when I am ready to game.

I'm using my HyperX Cloud Alpha headset plugged into an external DAC (Sound Blaster X G6) with individual connections for the headphone and microphone jacks, and the mic sounds really clear with no compression. It does lack bass slightly, but at least it doesn't sound like trash like the Cloud Alpha Wireless at 6:39 .

L've owned many gaming headsets, but your sound test to me had the corsair 70 sounding the most clear and natural. Nice overall review.

I dont like the mic and the first 8 hours out the box the audio shut off I shut it off turned it back on and still no audio I have to unplug the dongle and plug it back in
I recently got these and I agree that for $200, probably not worth it, for $150 which I see it usually is, it can be viable, but I got "Renewed" set on Amazon for $100 and I love this headset for that price point, I would not of been able to tell they weren't brand new, the sound quality holds up, I thought the microphone quality was actually better than I was thinking, I was able to tell where enemies were coming from in game which is great, the comfort was great, but that battery life is incredible, I've used them for for nearly 4 hours a day for 2 weeks and I'm still at 86% on the charge. Try a renewed pair for $100, for that price point, their great. Also your video helped me find that Ngenuity App which helped with the drivers, so thank you! Cheers from Metro Detroit
i think it's amazing. the sound quality is good, and i like the mic after i tweak it with equalizerAPO and voicemeter. it's very comfortable and the battery life is just insane

Hey do you know if you can use a third party software to tune the eq of this headset? And then can you save these settings to ps5 console? I heard you can’t save the eq to console but I don’t know if it’s just when using the hyperx software?

I am a fan of RGB but for headphones? What's the point? You'll never see it unless you look in the mirror.
It has a wireless usb because it has a lot less delay in the sound received than what you would get with Bluetooth connection.
already have a stand-alone mic but switching from a wired to wireless headset. thought this cloud alpha was a good choice but the comments say otherwise. any recommendations?

I have only a question: what about hissing? I tried a lot of wireless headset (Razer Nari Ultimate, Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless (what a s**t), Corsair Virtuoso XT, HyperX Cloud II Wireless) and, except the Nari, I can hear the sound of power supply or something similar constantly. Unfortunately, there are a lot of reasons why I don't like the Nari Ultimate and I wanna go for something better (the mic on them is horrible) and simpler in design (the Nari are extremely big), but I literally hate that constant sound/hiss/rustle/buzz (or call it as you prefer). What about this headset? I'm so tired to try all headset just to send them back =| I know that maybe JBL Quantum 800 could be better, but I dislike the completly plastic design, no replacement and small battery, a 300 hours of battery life is a fantastic feature for me, but I don't want to hear that hateful sound

Great review. I really liked how you expressed both pros and cons of the headset, and what kind of consumer should get the headset. The microphone test and comparison was phenomenal. I bought the Alpha Wireless in March, and agree with your conclusion.
I personally don't need bluetooth, wired, swivel, rgb, or a good mic. I have my ps5 audio and phone audio relayed through my PC, so I don't require extra audio functionality. I changed the earpads for custom ones for more comfort. And I have a separate microphone. For me, I was using wired Cloud Alphas, and the wireless version was the perfect choice for me.

Same here I have a few sets of Wicked Ear cushions on hand so will just swap them out same as I do for my other headsets and No RGB is a bonus.

Bought Arctis 7+ last week, the fit and finish of that headset is great and battery life was impressive at 30 hours. Unfortunately they don't fit my narrow head and slide forward constantly so I exchanged for HS80 which fit like a glove and has a superior microphone and volume levels. Not to mention a few bucks cheaper. Battery life is questionable with RGB on, they do not last all day with the RGB going which is unfortunate but not a deal breaker for me. I would love the HS80 with Cloud Alpha battery life.
Please don’t recommend hs80. The sound sucks and not ideal for fps gaming. I really wish I could return it.
@@medium-ware_sirloin What don't you like about it? I feel like you can use the EQ if you want more mids/highs. I feel the mids are very forward in 7+ which are considered the ideal gaming sound signature. You could do a similar thing with HS 80 if you want..
I like the hs 80 and the mic is amazing but I'd rather spend $10 more and get the jbl qauntum 800😅.....even though battery life isn't the best it's a monster in the sound department especially when playing competitive

Ive used mine for over 40 hours and the headset still states 100% charge level after a 5 weeks. Amazing headset.

Broo nice vid... I kinda found out about the HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless just recently and wish I had known like when it came out? Lol. I Currently have a Hyperx Cloud alpha wired and it's been great for the longest time... But I was wondering, do you think the upgrade to the Wireless version of the same headset is worth it? I kinda love my Cloud alphas but the cable kinda gets annoying specially with VR (I play on PC so it connect to the PC not the VR), What do you recomend? Anything other than the JBL ones because of the plastic design and kinda huge for me. Thanks
For me yes because I hate wires…..but also check out the new SteelSeries nova and 7+
@@DetroitFury Ngl I bought the arctis 1s like a year ago and I hated them because of the ear cups... They Hurt my ears so badly I just used the cloud Alphas... I've heard about the nova and the 7 but They're really expensive for me idk

Question, I’m deciding between these and the steel series nova 7p. My main wants and needs are simply sound quality for foot steps in call of duty and a somewhat noise canceling mic. Just don’t want my party chat to hear noises around me like the tv next to me and the wife talking lol. Thanks

I agree with most of your points, but why do you want rgb on a headset? it sucks out battery life (which on this headset is less of an issue) and you cant even see it?

Wondering if my headset is messed up, whenever I turn my ps5 off and start it back up my hyper X cloud alphas sound volume resets and is back to real quiet. Have to reset my sound every time.

i have the penrose and the right side of the headband broke amazing sound but dogshit quality
Penrose has best audio quality bar none atm. It still has some hissing but the microphone improved after some firmware update. Battery life is a bit meager though

Yeaaaah i lose my Cloud 2's dongle and i'm screwed. They don't sell it separately. I love my cloud 2 tho, first time with wireless and i don't want to go back wired. Been using cloud 2 for 20 months, and no problem on the machine. 😭

these are currently 130 euros in Greece,i think its a yes for wireless headset.The next ones i think are currently worth it are the blackshark v2 pro 2023 which are at 200+ and i dont think they are worth it

I got the hyper x alpha wireless. 2 things um experiencing.
1) Latency, I do notice some latency in FPS games.
2) Sound, even with the EQ software, it sounds little muddy.

@@medium-ware_sirloin After some trying, it seems that the hyper X software NGenuity causes some latency when using their EQ Settings.
Especially in CSGO it was noticeable.
I tried the headset with a different software for my EQ Settings, in this case Sonic Studio3, since it came with my motherboard. There was no latency. Also the muddiness was under control. They sounded as I was hoping they would. Compared them to the Cloud 2 Wireless at the same time and I found the Alpha wireless to sound better in the end.
It appears Hyper X own software might cause some sound issues, like increased latency.
Therefore I would recommend using a different software to tune the headset, like Dolby Atoms or similar.

i'm not agree with you, i'm using HyperX since long time starting with cloud ii 7.1 then flight then alpha wireless and i can say, they are very good for not low price.... they give you good sound good mic, almost good design with materials... offcourse if you want more you should pay more, for audio sennheiser... mic maybe sennheiser... btw i love JBL (having a lot products from them) but for gaming and something more this headsets are pretty good for price!
I've tested them vs. Blacksharks V2 Pro and chose Blacksharks. Better frequency range which you can really hear, deeper bass and crisper highs. Plus Razer is much louder on consoles ( PS5 specifically ). Blacksharks are only 32 ohms vs. Alphas 62 ohms, requires less power.

The hyperx are alot better on pc since u have softwares for it. So does the blackshark but not as good so on pc I recommend the hyperx and just tweak the quality settings to ur liking

I just bought a wave 3 and now I'm like I'm looking for comfort and good sound quality because gaming headsets won't have the best sounding mics in the world.
Just don't lose the dongle... Wont sell replacements and it bricks the headset - wasted loads of cash on this - really disappointed
