I get that, however, if someone is visually impared I am not sure how relevant that would be and can just reinforce negative stereotypes. I applaud the advances with accessibility features with modern technology as it makes it accessible to everyone. What I dont understand is why it is describing the race/ethnicity of a person, it doesnt make sense to me and can lead to mistakes down the line.

it doesn't. that's part of the scripted voice over audio description of the video. audio description is like closed caption for the visually impaired.
as a daily magnifier user i would imagine the enhancements shown here are the ability for the magnifier to access the camera as well as highlight text, like google lens, and make it searchable (given the carrot cake example), but the current magnifier doesn't speak and i'm sure the new one doesn't either.
