Love, love, LOVE this song. Saw Sara perform this in concert with Jackson Browne 2 months ago, and bought the CD on the spot. Written by Dan Wilson of Semisonic fame - remember "Closing Time"? - not to mention a few other hits such as "Someone Like You" (Adele) and songs by The Dixis Chicks, Dierks Bentley, et al. The song has this frenetic energy about it reminiscent of Fleetwood Mac circa Tusk. There was a time when I had to listen to this at least once a day, but I'm now on the mend...
Nostalgia of Nickel Creek. My father died a fan of them when I was five. Couple years later, they broke up. Had nothing to hold on to. Life continues. Been a rollercoaster ride to heaven, damn sure. Love you, Dad!
This is absolutely gorgeous! Love the miniature effect, the metaphors you can get from a relationship and a Circus, like the balance to keep love alive and the running in circles in the ring. It's also amazing that Sara's violin is not shown even once, just an air version cause the star is the drum which is symbolic to Sara's growth as an artist that is open to new ways to make her music even better.
Just saw you perform in LA at the Nokia Theater... what an absolute treat! You are so very talented. I look forward to seeing much more of you! Great Song!
Love it Sarah. Going look to download. Hearing you sing Sabra Girl at the Strand in Shreveport may years ago is still one of my most cherished memories.
Fleetwood Mac dreams they sounded this good. Video should win awards too! To bad the radio stations missed this one its as good if not better than Lorde's Royal's. Back when I was on the FM air I would have put this in the highest rotation possible.
The only problem with these studio versions is that the mix somehow has taken the edge off of the voice that she has live. Studio recordings will never quite capture the singers that have a gift like she does, where the vocals can really cut through everything and seemingly arrive right at your ears..
David W I absolutley agree. I'm a a massive Foy Vance fan (you should check him out) I've got all his studio stuff, but much prefer the live versions, somehow they are much more organic and alive.
I met Sara many years ago after she opened for Jackson Browne at The Murat...Wonderful human & performer. I love this gem of a song.
There’s nothing to dislike and an enormous amount to admire about Sarah in all her musical guises. This is another lovely song and performance.
I love this song and it reminds me of a heart ache I once had. Good times! She’s so underrated it’s a shame!

The Decemberists brought me here, thx Guys, she's wonderful!
Love this girl. Saw her with Jackson Browne in St.Louis. Her violin and beautiful voice made the show that much better. Sean was great too.
Very nice! Love the ruff edge alt-country feel to it!

Love it Sara, cool video and great song :)
Sara has a great voice. If you don't think so, listen to her sing "Swing Low" on the UNICEF commercial.
I love these lyrics :'(

+David W Nail on the head! I saw her the other night live, had never heard of her before, and her voice live is a force of nature!
I completely agree. She's a great singer, but even the "rockers" on this album are way too polished -- there's no edge left.

Saw her with Jackson Browne WOW!!
She's got it...
Nice.
Blogged it 4 ya Sara! Link on my page cannot share them in comments anymore.
So different the Dan Wilson's original version on his album Love Without Fear. You should all take a listen to it. It has a nice feel as well.
Estoy enamorado!
Very nice! Maybe it's not such a terrible thing to have no more Nickel Creek if the kids are all putting out stuff this good.
Yep. Still got a huge crush on her.
not difficult to do Niklaus. Some one that lovely, that talented, and that genuine.
You'll always be our secret voice.
¡Pero que bombon...! y la canción... ni que decir.
