- Recently I watched the second episode of the USA Inbetweeners and it was genuinely worse than the first one.

Neils hair for a start. in the UK one, his hair is short and gelled up. Trendy to the time it was in because Neil was cool. In the US one, he has stupid long hair that makes him stick out so badly. Neil is an idiot, but he is a social genius. he knows what people like, that's how he is always the one to get off with the girls.

Even though Simon's brother disgraces the original, this kid can act, unlike the other cast members.
It's a shame that the best actor out of it is one of the youngest, presumably the most inexperienced cast member does the best job

3:58 “ya mum loves it!” Always loved this little line from Jay almost hidden in the rest of the noise
Jay and Neil’s lines in that bit are both edited in which I thought was always funny
I've watched it all. The episode they go to a houseparty with children (I think it supposed to be the kids disco rip off) is grotesque. Jay is pretty much trying to get into a 13 year old. Possibly only 12. Young enough that she panics as she has her first period. Its proper weird.

admittedly i laughed at the "the fat ginger line" not because it was funny but because they were making fun of American Jay
Worth noting that the American version of the characters are around 15, so it isn't quite as awful as it first seems.

Biggest thing I notice, aside from the golden hour shots, is that everyone in the US version looks straight out of makeup, where as the UK version everyone is very pale and the weather is always bleak. Makes the show seem much more genuine and relatable
thats just cause they were just filming in Britain no amount of editing could make it look bright or make them looking darker.
No, it’s like that to give it a more realistic feel. In the U.K. the days are usually gloomy, and so it gives it more of a realistic tone and feel and makes it feel less like a show and more of a real life action. In the US, it’s dramatised ALL the time, and even in the US it is not bright 24/7

Hey I've not seen Simon's Brother of the US version and actually his cruel joke about American Jay is the funniest one liner I've seen from the American Inbetweeners.

It's pretty crazy how they were able to take jokes & whole scenes from one of the funniest shows ever & somehow present them in a way that they're completely void of humor.

The thing about the US office is that it kind of became it's own show, separate from the British one instead of trying to cling onto the same jokes which I respect it for
The difference is that both the UK and US office are actually good
Good suggestion, two counterparts of a show, both being decently good as opposed to one being iconic and the other being a train wreck
To be frank with you, I didn't even have to watch a single episode to know the US version would be sh**. It is obvious the US version would be absolutely crap. The US do not have a good track record of making good comedies and an even worse track record of trying to make copies of British comedies/series.

Yeah , I think Ricky's vision of David brent was to portray a man who sees the blue in a cloudy sky. I think the US version turned that OTT . Normally when they do that it sucks, but I think they pulled it off.

honestly i think the films were great and a perfect way to wrap up the series. most movies of tv shows always come out bad but the writers actually smashed it with the movies, especially the first one.

US Shameless ran for 10 years and is generally considered a great adaptation but of course not all people will like it
