It's has been 20 years since we lost her in 2001 and she will be remembered by us fans who remember her on power rangers in the 90's
It's great to know that before Thuy passed away, she was considered a very close sister to Austin St. John (Jason) and Walter Jones (Zack); so much so that Austin would be there for many of Thuy's interviews, which I believe was to help her be less anxious.
She is my favorite from the original group... When I heard that Thuy Trang passed away I cried
Me too. I loved how mild mannered and fierce she was. It made for a great character development point.

I didn't know she died until almost 3 years later. She died a day before 911 and we know that got alot of focus so it could be the main reason it took me so long to find out.

Funny thing is all the girls that had a crush on her, or preferred to be her while playing at school/kindergarden, turned out to be later queer when they grow up XD I suppose it was sweet version of the "not like the other girls" and a bit of the "girly girl vs tomboy". Trini was the Xena for children
Trini didn't lose her power but after Aisha got her powers she lost hers to Master Vile along with the other power rangers. But Trini along with Jason and Zackary never lost their powers.
Exactly, the sword of light was simply used to copy the coins, given to Adam, Rock and Aisha independent duplicates of the coins of Jaison, Trini and Zakc.
@THE COOL GUY just returned the Gold power to Trey. Jason was only holding on to them until Trey got himself back together as one. He never lost his Red Ranger Powers.
@Will N they never came out and said he got him red ranger power. But in the lost dimensions episode he had them. Justin never lost his because at the end of turbo. T.J and the other four rangers went into outer space. It was never confirmed Billy created the turbo powers. Go back and watch the movie. They never said what happened to the zeo powers either.....

Trini is forever my favorite 💛 Ranger. Thuy Trang was such a tragic loss. I remember the announcement on the news of her untimely passing. Forever missed and loved girl. May the power protect you.
Trini Kwan was a great yellow Power Ranger and this video does provide a tribute to Thuy Trang. Being a kind hearted person, having a scientific mind and skilled fighter made the character of Trini a true joy and seeing how Boom! Studios is continuing on with great stories for the Mighty Morphin' and Power Rangers comics we can honestly see the character live on.
Thuy Trang will always be my favorite yellow ranger. May she rest in peace and in the hearts of us Ranger fans.

I do have a theory for Trini’s Unconfirmed Super Megaforce appearance! It is shown that Jason sent a signal for the legendary battle which Zack, Billy, Kimberly, and a yellow ranger answered. The Power Rangers wiki said that a yellow ranger answered her old teammate’s call. Now, Aisha didn’t have Jason as a teammate, instead, she had Rocky. This could only mean that Trini was the yellow ranger who responded. So Trini was in fact a part of the legendary battle. Now for the Zack and Trini Beastmorphers theory, Again, Jason sent a signal and an unknown yellow ranger answered the call, again Aisha didn’t have Jason as a teammate so, it was Trini again who answered the call while taking care of her daughter Minh. An unknown black ranger also answered the call too. Adam bearly had Jason as a teammate, only for a short while but never used the communicator that the original 5 rangers used. Zack on the other hand always had it, so the black ranger is most likely Zack. I may be wrong but hey, this is my theory.
Also Aisha was a little girl in Africa the last time we saw her so it makes sense Trini be the Mighty Morphin yellow ranger in the legendary battle if Jason, Tommy, Billy and Kimberly were there so makes sense for Trini and Zack to join their old teammates.
Thank you Thuy aka Trini for representing Asians for kids to look up to as someone who can fight and was intelligent. RIP.

Heartbreaking. I read somewhere that her funeral was held one day before 9/11. Ricardo Medina is another strange one, he was only recently released from prison. Make me wonder what else has happened to the actors and actresses from Power Rangers?

Trini being the first Asian actress as a power ranger is how much I will remember her as a fan. I felt bad the fact she died so young

4:44 the only reason why that really is so, is because they had to cover up the fact that Thuy (and Austin and Walter) was already fired long before they even wrapped Trini, Jason and Zack’s story arc. Like about 2-3 episodes prior.
Trinie Kwan was & still is my all-time favorite PR...As much as I like Tommy as the White Ranger, things just weren't the same after Thuy, Walter Jones & Austin St.John left & got screwed over the way they did by the higher-ups...& the sad part for me was that I didn't even realize Thuy passed away until I got back into PR about almost 20 years later in 2014

As a kid, I originally liked the red ranger. As time went on, I was later drawn towards Trini because she was Asian like me, and my favorite color was now yellow. I wish there was another Asian yellow ranger but that’s not likely to happen (even though there was another black guy as a black ranger…)

I think once the actual power coin was passed she lost her powers. Can't be two power coins. Don't forget that when tommy gave jason his dragon coin we saw him slowly depower too until he was back to normal.
Since she is an omega ranger now she has no need for the original sabertooth powers now.

It’s Trini Quan under that helmet because Ayesha’s copy was destroyed in season 3. Now as we have seen Ayesha can activate her ninja powers as they still exist and by stance we know that Rocky used his in dimensions in danger. Rest In Peace Thuy Trang, you are loved and missed. @Will N I didn’t say it did. Besides if he did fix Ayisha’s Morpher then it most like was done by Alpha 6 who as of the end of “Once a Ranger”, was going to be helping at Adam’s dojo. Even with that the Yellow MMPR Ranger seen in the Legendary Battle was most likely Trini as she still had the original coin and Morpher perfectly intact.
@Will N It’s a nice theory but not cannon in any way. It’s also highly unlikely Trini would have done that as she really didn’t know Aisha, nor were Jason and Zach around to know where she went. If this theory happened then Jason most likely gave it to Billy or Tommy during his time as The Gold Ranger and one of them, probably Billy, would have given it to her. Although that is completely unnecessary as Aisha’s Ninja Powers would have still worked as Rocky was using his in “Dimensions in Danger.

Another legendary ranger, Trini was both intelligent like Billy, & like Jason she was a martial artist. However, she knew more styles of arts than Jason, also both his & later Tommy's advisor whenever they were prepping for competitions or other events. She was also the only one who could translate Billy's one time hyper technical talk into plan English. I would consider her the Robin of the Power Rangers where Billy was the Batman. Highly intelligent as well the expert martial artist. Along w/her co actors ASJ. & WEJ, the late Thuy Trang walk off the set when they didn't wanna pay her. RIP Thuy Trang

There has been a conversation about the power "transfer" previously on the channel and I actually agree with the 'copy/paste' theory. If for no other reason Jason had access to the power shield and dragon dagger after the green candle, as he was holding the power coin for Tommy. Rocky never utilized either of these and Tommy and Billy would have been aware of the accessible items, so it would make sense to me for them to have explained that to rocky.

As a kid I didn't learn the names, or at least I don't remember. I think i didn't watch episodes serially. I knew names of colors. It was dabbed to Hebrew, and it seems now that each character is many people: stunt performers in the suits, the original actor in the zyuranger series, the actors of pilot episode, the first season and go on, the actors of 2017 movie, the voice actors, differnt actors and doubles of same character, different characters as same color in same team, the parallel teams...

Like many boys who were obviously gay but didn’t know about it much later, I can vouch that most of us were automatically drawn to Kimberly, the Pink Ranger because she’s society’s ideal female prototype: White, Pretty and Acrobatic. But as an adult now, I wished I would’ve stanned the Yellow Ranger as much as the pink. We were so busy wanting to be the pink ranger that we overlooked the Yellow Ranger’s awesome qualities ! I was born in the early 90s, and the mainstream media representation of an Asian figure that I could recall was Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan up until that point. Thuy was my first mainstream media representation of an Asian female in my memory. Though I’m glad it was a positive one, still would’ve loved to see her in the official movie but sadly her life was cut short. 🥺
