The new entry level iPad doubles the storage, comes with the A13 Bionic Chip, supports the first gen Apple Pencil and best of all it still costs $329 which is a solid price point. The downside it still has the chunkiest bezels (especially the forehead). It's also the only iPad that still charges via Lightning.
What do you guys think?
I think that it is really good for the price. You will not get a tablet other than this with this amount of performance at this price and to be honest if you are happy to give up some stuff like the latest chop and the more futuristic design then it is the best iPad for the value. Also if your workflow is not too demanding then you could also work on this.

Why do tech reviewers always insist in saying that pluging the Apple Pencil in the iPad is the way of charging it? Yes it’s one way, but there’s an adapter included with the pencil so you are able to charge it with your lightning cable, so it’s not as ridiculous and dangerous.
I don't think they understand that that way is for students or someone taking notes and if the pencil charge dies someone can charge via the ipad if they are away from the mains but who would understand
also that it has super fast charging, something like 15 seconds gets you a good 30-40 minutes of writing, so a quick 2 minute charge on a desk in a lecture where its safe from being damaged is enough for a full days use

When I used the original Apple Pencil years ago I never charged it by putting it into the iPad! It comes with an attachment that allows you to charge it via cable in the wall. I never see anyone showing this on videos. I will say the second gen Apple Pencil charging on my 2021 iPad Pro is so much nicer though. Much more convenient

I just got this iPad at Walmart for $309. It’s a lot bigger than what I remember my iPad 2nd gen being when I was younger. It’s very nice and I definitely recommend it for those who don’t want to spend extra on the iPad Air.
I don’t think ipad os will ever become more like mac os, because apple wants to keep them separate enough so that you buy both lol
We’re seeing a trend of apple making them more and more similar. I.e. the last mac update changed all the icons to be the same as ipad/iphone for a more cohesive economy

@@goodsoap7102 Unlikely for them to read lol. If they did read, bad idea for business because it is more profitable to slowly make iphone similar to mac so there is an actual difference to care about although old iPhones and ipads are good enough for everyday use

This Gen 9 iPad 10.2 is a great replacement for my 2017 iPad Pro since I could reuse my apple pencil version 1, the bluetooth apple key board as well as the leather soft case. Great savings for another few years till the next upgrade. The specs are a great improvement, the A13 Bionic, the 12 MP front camera with centre stage thrown in and the higher 256GB storage is such a welcome. I am happy with this purchase.
Same man, my 2017 pro is on its last days. Screen falling off and touch sensor dying.
I used to own a 2017 pro and i decided to sell it because of the white spot issue. At that time i didn't know that the 10.5 inch is the sweet spot for me for uni. I bought a mini 6 which is a little too small and now i have a 11inch pro which is a little too big. I'm seriously considering buying an ipad 9. The only thing keeping me back is the apple pencil 1, i much prefer the 2.
A13 is way faster than the A10X fusion in your 2017 Pro . You’ll surely feel some difference .

For entry level iPad, this is better choice than the mini. It packs with same 12mp center stage for meeting and facetime, non laminated might be an issue for viewing but makes it cheaper to repair the glass, the A13 still run faster and smoother than android tablet too... And also the base storage start with 64gb is same like the Air and Mini too...

Bruh I see people making a big deal out of the non laminated display but when I bought it I literally didn’t notice anything different
If you're planning on getting the Apple Smart folio Keyboard with this iPad 9th gen, just get the Logitech Combo Touch. The Apple Smart Folio is small and lightweight, but not worth $159 New from the AppleStore. The Logitech Combo Touch is a better deal including a thick protective case and back-lit keyboard with Trackpad for $150 New. I've used both on the ipad 7th gen 10.2in and prefer the Logitech Combo Touch.
it's basically the same price tbh. for that i'd get the official one because apple = quality
is the trackpad on the logitech keyboard a big deal? or can you make do without it
@@fuhu2770 It’s a big deal if you are used to using a Laptop’s Trackpad and are comfortable using multi-finger swipe gestures. If you’re going to buy the Apple Pencil 1st Gen too, the Apple Smart Folio keyboard is a good pair as its pretty sturdy using the pencil against the Apple Smart Folio Keyboard’s triangle-like kickstand,though it won’t have somewhere to hold the Apple Pencil so you’ll have to keep the Apple Pencil saved somewhere separate. The Logitech Combo Touch case has a small loop to hold the Apple Pencil for you, with the smooth trackpad as a bonus. Both are pretty great, but the Logitech gives you more protection,features,and is cheaper at Store Price.
As a longtime Android user, this is the first Apple product I've ever purchased and I am using this just to explore what's it like to be an Apple user before switching to iPhone 14 Pro next year.

I’m still using the 9.7” 6th gen iPad from 2018 with the A10 and 32 GB with cellular, and yes, 32 is just barely enough for me to keep it around because it is a great little device, but definitely will probably upgrade to this or a mini once the stock becomes better

There is a term called symmetry if you haven't heard already. Shrinking the top bezel and keeping the bottom bezel of the same size would suck.

This is why I can’t go back to android! They never have symmetrical bezels! I don’t get it! Googles new pixel that’s about to come out has a huge chin! Samsung who manufactures most companies displays can’t even do symmetrical bezels I don’t get it! 🤦🏼♂️ I know iPhones have a notch which I hate with a passion but all of their products have symmetrical bezels which the human eye prefers
I just ordered one. I've had several iPhone's, but never an iPad. I have a 2019 budget samsung tablet I've been using for a while, but it's just too slow now, and that iPad is at such a great price. I'd never buy the more expensive iPad's though. This one is more than fast enough for me, and has touch ID which I love, plus a decent screen.

That’s why I’m considering whether I should trade the iPad Air 3 with laminated screen for the iPad 9. I get a better camera and slightly better chip set but that’s it

This iPad is awesome, there’s a headphone jack, it’s cheap and easy to sell to upgrade and the graphics is good enough for some gaming, reading and video editing.
A13 in phones is about on par as say snapdragon888 so yeah, latest games should be no problem. Considering this is an iPad with bigger heat dissipation, should be more stable as well. In terms of video editing and export, should be no problem either. A13 is still current flagship speed.
it can play any game. i play cod mobile daily on my ipad 8 (A12) high graphics and refresh rate and it’s amazing

The most positive and important thing about the iPad 9 large bezels is the fact is made for holding your iPad comfortably in landscape while watching movies playing games without obstructing the screen

I have the 8th gen, it's the first iPad that I have owned, and now with the upgrades I'm really looking to trade it for this one, for what I used it works amazing, I got the Logitech combo touch and it's great to take around to finish doing homework and keynotes

Hey, I have an iPad Air 2, too. But the display has some color issues, so I'd like to change it for this 9th gen iPad. My question is: did you buy it? Did you really feel any difference between the laminated display of the air 2 vs the non-laminated display 9th gen?
@@augustochocobar780 there is a difference if you are writing notes and using the apple pencil but if you are just streaming videos, it is not noticeable
I've been looking at getting one of these for undertaking client consultation and measure ups, very interested in the budget option as if I do take it to a site and drop it I can afford for it to be a little banged up and then eventually get a new one no dramas.
I still have an iPad mini 2 that's been working since 2015 which does occasionally glitch and is noticeably slow but does the job

Is the lack of the laminated screen is an issue ? Really I had the first iPad Air but the screen was not laminated and it was really bad to use.

Thinking of a getting a newer big screen iPad. Should I get the iPad 9th generation or iPad Air 3. Both around the same price. I use the tablet to watch videos, play games, listen to music, check email, browse the web, and other basic stuff. Budget iPad late 2018 earLy 2019 model I have and use daily.

Doubt that it will happen since you are describing the iPad Air. It will probably continue with that design since it’s the cheaper iPad. Doubt they will discontinue it since they want it to be an option for people that just want a cheaper tablet for really basic things.

Great video answered most of my questions. I have been considering going from my Macbook Air as my daily driver to an Ipad with keyboard. Checking out the iPads I was surprised to see this one at just 399 US. Regardless of this iPad or the newer models I think I'm going to stick with the laptop for now until I can afford a new Macbook. I really like the idea of having the iPad with the Folio keyboard for "on the go" but in reality I'm not on the go nearly as often as I am at home in my office.

It has a bigger form factor but the display is still the same size. I wish i could afford these products that I watch from this channel. Awesome video.
I mean the iPad mini has Touch ID built into the power button and a new design so if I had to choose, I would go with that.

Nice video. I still use an iPad 2019 model for making and editing music videos in my channel. Though I noticed a slight decline in performance with iPad OS 15.4 (because my iPad still uses a CPU from an iPhone 7) its truly amazing how it can still get the job done. With this new model, it will go a long long way.

If I particularly talk about this ipad, I can easily get it for rupees 18k ( 230$ ) after applying all offers. I saw it as a jaw breaker deal.

this just looks like a rebranding of an old product to fill in the gaps and give more time for ideas/development or for funding. Same thing happens with clothes. New brands are made out to be an outdated style so that the newer (rebranded) style is bought

I came across a problem which occur on 2 iPad 9th Generation:
The volume in phone calls (FaceTime or VoIP app) has to be on 100% in order to hear something.
When watching videos, if the sound is good if volume is less than 50%.
does it come with the pencil??

Dude they already have what you suggested about the bezels and it’s called the iPad Air. They need to re use the old chasis hence even if they can reduce the bezels they won’t. No one would buy the iPad Air.
