The stories that comes with bikes are usually as cool as the bikes. This is going to be a really cool project and it ended up at the right place for a second life.
Love the paint scheme and even the bikini fairing. Cant wait to to hear it running, and to see what paint scheme you dicide on, but i would run with what it's got just in memory of its previous owner. And it looks soooo cool
Thanks! Unfortunately the fairing has exploded into a million pieces... The bike tipped over and the fairing took the imact; sacrificing itself for the bike.
So sorry to hear of Rick passing away:( , love the bike as I had a 1974 H2 Green and mean:) God I miss my Widow Maker and she almost killed me in 1981 ugh
Briefly knew this big burly lady motor cycle enthusiast back in the later 80s that had one of thses, but I think an earlier model, it was her daily rider, and she loved it, but I thought the triple exhausts made the bike look unnecessarily..... Ugly.. Will be watching your channel for updates as I'm genuinely excited for you
That's awesome! The 3 pipes are a bit of an acquired taste since they don't look symmetrical. Thanks for watching the video and I look forward to sharing more with on on this and many other bikes.
They are 34mm Mikuni flat slides put on by Paul Gast. I'm a little torn with what to do in regards to restoring the bike since it is a cool example of how they were modified. I will probably end up doing a mix between original and performance stuff in the end.
@ my 71H1 has Denco chambers on it and someone put dual disc on the front. I think I will leave it like that but just restore everything into excellent shape.
Thanks!! I'm still debating what to do... It's got so many good performance parts I'd hate to convert it all to stock so perhaps do a partial restoration
I don't like to disclose that type of information publicly. All I'll say is that the family did their research and were happy with how everything ended.
I grew up with these and I still love them
That's awesome! The really provoke some real emotion

100% agree! That's why I decided to start doing more videos in this format. The people and stories are the backbone of the hobby.
Very entertaining and I’m not even a bike guy. Looking forward to the series!

I totally agree! It's a little dated, but so is the bike with all the mods.
The bike has gone to a good home! Looking forward to seeing, and hearing this one running. Thanks for the video.
Thanks Randy! I should have a video of it running soon. I'm bringing in an expert to help me go over the bike.. he did build it after all 😉
Nice find, I like the fairing it fits the bike. Leave it as a 80's custom.

Bad ass bike!!
100%!!
NICE find!!!! Is the motor lokced up?
Nope! Free as a bird! The owner made sure to keep rotating the crank over the years
Congrats! That's a great find! Original colour brown or green?

They definitely have a reputation for biting, if you're not careful

What brand chambers?
@ most chambers back in the day where DENCO.
Good video Pete. Full restoration on this bike?
Thanks!!

I'd be up all night cleaning the carbs out and sorting a spark!
Great minds think alike
It'd be interesting to know what you paid for the bike 🤔
I don't like to disclose that type of information publicly. All I'll say is that the family did their research and were happy with how everything ended.
@@PetesClassicCycleYeah, I didn't think you'd want to disclose that. But would've been interesting 😊

Those pipes look like denco to me?
Similar but these are hydro formed where Denco were welded cone sections
