Last week's loss to the Lions was a devastating result for all of us tigers fans. However throughout the whole season I would rate our year B-. I feel that we have somewhat bought back the brand that we have produced from 2017-2020 with our pressure and surging the ball forward. However for some reason we have had a habit of falling just short in a number of games this season. Given that Shane Edwards, Kane Lambert, most likely Dusty(better not) and Maybe Riewoldt might be retiring either this year or next year. We do have some good young players to look forward for next year such as Cumberland, Gibcus etc as well as picking up Tim Taranto from the Giants. It will be a long off season for us but hopefully we can learn from this and build on this for next year. GO TIGERS!!! 💛🖤💛🖤💛🖤💛🖤
Thanks guys, this loss is going to be tough to swallow for all of us given that we have had a more improved season than last year as well as reflecting on what could have been if we were able to maintain our composure and bravery for 100% of each and every game but we can battle through this.
i got through the loss pretty faster than i expected. but instead of thinking about the negatives, think about the positives. like u said, we most likely have got taranto coming to tigerland and i reckon him in the midfield with prestia, graham and cotchin would be pretty deadly and should be good to watch. noah cumberland is another player u mentioned and he should have an outstanding year next year. hes such and exciting young forward and once riewoldt retires, i reckon he will be amazing for him. hopefully next year will be our year go the tigers
@@JacobAVL Now I can see why you have got the mentality that only Geelong and their supporters think that The Cattery is a suitable venue to hold finals at. You are a Richmond supporter. Most Richmond supporters that I have come across on TH-cam have got this mentality. I realise that my comment is not related to this video, but I couldn't help but recognise your name.
Going up. This year was far better than 2021, and a-lot of losses to top 8 teams were within 10 points, midfield is growing, and now with Taranto, its looking better, all we need is someone to replace prestia because hes so injury prone and we cant win without him,
5 of 23 last Thursday night were in their first real full season - MR, Sonsie, Miller, Gibcus and Cumberland - none disgraced themselves in a final. Pretty good core to build around with existing more senior players.
We're fine. Given the rotation of first and second year players making a name for them selves (Ralph-Sminth, Gibcus, Sonsie, Maurice Jr, Ross being more consistent, Cumberland being the Riewoldt heir apparent) Get a (hopefully) friction free and productive pre season back into our main stays including Martin, I see no reason why we wouldn't be contending again next season.
Agree Mives that Tiges have quite a few young guys who look like they may be good. Judson Clark showed a bit early too. I'm still hoping that Collier-Dawkins and Dow will end up making it of course. I havn't been following the VFL closely lately and it's been a few weeks since I've gone to the Tiger's website to check up on them.
Firstly Dion needs to be managed as if he's not playing and if he does is a bonus. I think there's a lot to be excited about with a preseason into Cumberland, Riolix2, Sonsi, Miller, Baker, Ross. But there's also players who need to show that there worth keeping like Collier-Dawkins, Tarrant, and a few that I can't think of off the top of my head. Castagna needs to go along with a couple of others. Altogether I think we have some good times still ahead but a little tinkering needs to happen first.
They need to reinvent themselves. The old guard came good on the back of years of frustration. The new breed have come from a background of success so it's a totally different mindset. Given top level sport is played just as much "between the ears" as on the field, a lot will come down to their approach. Definitely got the talent.
It's all good. I still clearly remember a time when we could not hit a target at 15m and handpasses went straight to opposition. We will be fine but don't expect the dominance of '17 - '20....the rest of the comp has improved out of sight since then.
As much as the loss hurts, think Dimma is right that the future is bright - we had 6 kids playing their first final and will be better for the experience. Still have a very healthy core and a lot of promising youngsters who showed flashes and glimpes of their talent. Getting that consistently is the next challenge. Definitely need a lock down midfielder option who can run and nullify the opponent's dangerous player - Graham would have been very handy in this game. Also, probably need to think succession planning for Riewoldt given his age. Not sure if we have anyone pressing for selection from the VFL side? Tarranto would be a great addition. If Dusty leaves, maybe we can also have a crack at Hopper?
How are you coping with the loss, champ? Or are you still too busy thinking about that spud Silvagni? There's quite a few of them at Richmond too who cannot handle pressure cooker situations. Wasn't that one of the main reasons why you have been very critical of Silvagni? Time to trade a few spuds out of the Tigers during the off-season too.
@@darrenmiles-morland8038 didn't see Silvagni running around this finals campaign. Oh wait. He filled his shorts and cost you finals. How's delisting Stocker too? Another Silvagni special but from the old man. Family seems to enjoy sabotaging the supposed club they love 💩
Glad to see that someone has recognised this. What's the point in being one of the best attacking teams in the competition if you cannot defend? Richmond always struggles to defend whenever they become involved in a shootout. Defence wins premierships, shootouts do nothing other than thrill spectators.
I’m concerned where we are heading. Gibcus miller Ross need to step up. Tarrant is so slow it’s just embarrassing. If Cotchin stays and dusty we maybe ok
I won't quite go that far Marsupial regarding there having been a biased umpire in the arc, but, from what I understand, once the goal umpire has made their call, the evidence must be strongly against the call for the arc to overturn it,and,as far as I'm concerned, the evidence was inconclusive....I heard a Brisbane fan call up SEN on Friday and state that anyone that thinks that Lynch's kick was a goal needs to go to SpecSavers and get their eyes checked! What a ridiculous thing to say. Anyway,It could be Brisbane next who gets a bad decision paid against them. This issue is bigger than what team someone follows and what teams they don't like and I wish that fans like that Brisbane fan would see that. I am wishing in vain though of course.
Having said what I said though Marsupial, you could be right about a bias being present. I certainly can't say that you are wrong. What I do know is that the umpiring this year in general is just leaving a bitter taste in many fans mouths and I blame the afl/umpire's bosses.
@@Michaelfourfour that's correct. The issue is bigger than the team you support. The man in the arc called that review so quickly that is the reason I'm calling him a biased cheat. I've watched it many times on slowmo and it is impossible to tell although it is more likely in my opinion it was a goal. What happens if a grand final is decided like that. Richmond also misses out on a lot of money because of this. It's big business decided on cameras 100 metres away not even on the correct angle and not following the rule of it must be no dought that the goal umpires decision was 100 percent incorrect. And yes, I am angry.
@@c.a.marsupial.1282 Every right to be angry too. I think that it was either a goal or would scrape the inside of the goalpost but none of us,nor the camera people can know for sure,as we aren't in the best position. But,one guy was in a very good position and he called it a goal. Also,Tom has a right to not feel like he has to pretend to celebrate just to try and make sure that the goal won't be overturned! ....oh well.....whats new when it comes yo the AFL and the way they handle things. Remember when they got security to warn people not to barrack for their team too loudly?...Anyway,some good ypungsters coming up. Sonsie sounds like he could be a bit special. And Cumberland, and Junior. And Ross is starting to do better again. Gibcus. Miller looks like he has potential. Judson Clark did a bit early in the season. Basically I'm just repeating what some of the commenters have already said. Things looking ok. Cmon Tigers! :)
Richmond are awesome to watch!!! They're going up for sure !!💯

Premiers 2023, Cumberland with the Brownlow. Book it.
Pigs might fly to the moon upside-down and backwards too.
Yes Tigers to win the Flag! In 2023 Cumberland to win the Brownlow🥇🏆👏👍
