That scene towards the end, when Klaus I crying and talking about how there were moments when all Mikael had to do was be Klaus' father and still despised him regardless and Klaus asking why with Mikael's reply being, "I don't know," just obliterates my heart. After all he put Klaus through, he can't even say for sure why. There was no reason, no valiant purpose. Just outright hatred. Klaus can't even get that kind of validation from him. I can only imagine how Klaus must feel.
He hated him because klaus reminded him of betrayal. And his children side with klaus...men for the most part have not really shown love to the sons. We are machines. It happens now in this era and time, but its a new thing. But back then... especially a viking...what did he tell devina..mothers. love there kids, fathers make them strong.
Bipolar Spock but Mikael hated him even before he found out Esther cheated and before they were turned into vampires. I think Klaus reminds Mikael of himself and that brought out his insecurities and took it out of Klaus. Which he shouldn’t have done. Mikael was verbally and physically abusive to mostly only Klaus.
When he said: I want to know why. That face of his broke my heart. All that anger , sadness , and confusion is something I will never be able to understand, cuz I am lucky enough to be born into a loving family where my parents have always loved me unconditionally. Klaus is damaged because of Michael. Like how Rebecca said : Our father ruined us.
Klaus was the most broken character in this series for thousand years he was lonely misunderstood painted as a monster he later believed he was all klaus ever wanted was to be loved
When he says I don't think I can survive my own love for my daughter now having watched the final season of the Originals that has come true and I a so so so so sad

Joseph Morgan is a great actor, so i guess people have a tendency to like the complex evil people because good people can be annoying in shows tbh. Davina and Cami can be soooo annoying sometimes.

Klaus is the most misunderstood character in the originals or in TVD . Sometimes he cares ,sometimes he does not .He loves and hates at the same time . He is hurt and can not control his demons instead they control him .There are moments that the darkness in him almost defeats the light but his light is stronger than the darkness . I am so happy that Hope came to his life and made it so much better . She is the only thing that matters to him more than his life ! And not to forgget This video was awessome ! Than that would make Kluas no better than Michael. But Klaus would always want to be better than Michael when raising his child rather it a daughter or son. What he did for Hope rather it be the right thing or not. It was always because he thought it the best thing for Hope. Where Michael had no love for him. Kluas would always love his children no matter if their boys or girls and would never abuse them as Michael did him.
He would have the best of him for his kids no matter what sex they are or sexuality for example he loved Marcel as his own with his hard that's why he never killed when he had the chance

I don't know why People question Kluas's love for his child. The love Kluas has for Marcel and Hope should've proven that he loves both son and daughter. Kaus is nothing like Michael. He always wants to be a better father. Michael has favoritism and had little love for Kluas if any at all. He admitted to not loving Kluas. Yeah Kluas is nothing like that. Some fans underestimate the love Kluas as a parent would have for his child.
522nibbles Incase you've forgotten. Kluas was protective of Rabecca because she was his baby sister. But he was closer to Elijah whom was not a woman. Him and Elijah was almost inseparable. Kluas was only nice to woman outside of blood because he had fallen inlove with them and that includes Caroline. Kluas may not be the nicest man in his family. But he has shown to still love everyone of his siblings. When it comes to simbling relationships and a relationship Kluas would have with his own child. It's different when it comes to his own child. Don't compare Kluas treatment of siblings or friends to the relation Kluas would have to his child. It's not the same. Also Kluas in his own way had shown to care for Stefen Salvatore. When Kluas first learn of Fraya he mistreated her until she earned his trust and love and she was not only a woman. But his long lost older sister.
I feel so bad for the mikelson family there damaged because of Michael thank god I don't feel all these hurt feeling confusion,anger,sadness,and no happiness because I have a family that loves me unconditionally and I feel so bad for the kids or grown ups who go home everyday thinking that there family's don't love them and have cruel family's.

Klaus and Damon are my comfort characters, but Klaus is much more relatable in a deeper level... I can feel it, having both of your parents toxic, and scheming against you, making you the wretched and loneliest being and at the same time blaming you for the same thing... hate to say this but sometimes we end up hating our lives and will have this intense urge to die or kill people but a part of us stops us from doing so cos deep down we have this little ray of hope which we find hard to believe. I might get a lot of hate for this but as Klaus said "This family makes me want to murder people" I feel it.
Makes me agitated everytime they pin something bad happening as Klaus' fault and shame him on everything when all the other siblings have killed and done messed up things. Yes Klaus was cruel, but he never tried to truly kill Rebekah or any of his siblings. Yet she did try to kill him in New Orleans by leading Mikael straight to him. She knew Mikael only hunted them for Klaus and wanted to kill him.
