“I know where the hospital is” might that guys best decision of his life
Him, Jimmy and Francis from John Wick are all members of the same non-dumb ass union.
smartest thing he'll ever say in his life.
I would've said "I'll drive" before the fight started.
This show has devolved into some bad mentalist copycat. OOF.
@@skinnie2838 you should check your facts - Reacher books were being written BEFORE the Mentalist TV show. idiot
Say what you will about Tom Cruise's interpretation of Reacher, but his not so impressive stature made situations like this one more believable.
With Cruise-Reacher, I can believe that a group of drunken, schlubby thugs would think "yeah, we can take him!"
But with B.J. Blazcowicz Reacher, I'm like, I know you guys are drunk, but are you blind? This is not a man, this is an angry fridge that walks like a man.
ROFL ay BLazcowicz Reacher -- most accurate description ever. Besides if they did make a Wolfenstein game (only based on the first remake and not that awful sequel) Ritchson would be perfect for the role.
That's right. It's very believable that these doofuses would attack a guy who's built like the Incredible Hulk and who's showing no fear at all.
@@Billy-bc8pk I liked "The New Colossus"
It definitely had a more pulpy, goofy grindhouse tone than "New Order" but I thought it contrasted well with the otherwise dour mood of the setting.
And speaking of setting, that submarine was a badass base of operation!
@@hongquiaoIt was way too woke and stupid for my tastes, especially with how mopey and sappy they made Blazcowicz but it did have a strong grindhouse feel to it.
@@Billy-bc8pk By "woke" I suppose you're talking about Grace (the leader of the American resistance).
Doesn't it make sense though? In a world that's been taken over by nazis (y'know, WHITE supremacists) that a BLACK woman would have something to say about it?
As for BJ, he was already mopey in New Order. He IS more sappy in Colossus, although again, it makes sense when you consider he's got kids on the way.
When there's four of you and a massive human has no issue turning his full back to you, you aren't a concern.
So true !!
Yeah, its the four of them who should be concerned, for their lives.
Or the dude is overconfident in his size. Never underestimate numbers. Even an unfit and untrained person can get a lucky hit in. Then again, this is reacher we are talking about.
"I know where the hospital is" was probably the smartest thing that guy ever said in his backstory of a life, lol.
Whoever choreographs these fights in reacher is my hero
i honestly wish they were a bit more like in the books. reacher takes too much damage in the fights in the show :P
@@lukewithann7256 Because it has to be realistic, this ain't a book man. I mean even now it looks so unreal but if u go by the books it would be really over the top
@@exelrode Why does it have to be realistic though? Real life is realistic enough. I watch the show to see cool, maybe unrealistic stuff same reason why i read the books.
@@lukewithann7256 Eh it depends. I think the fights in the show are good enough. If you look at actual real life fights with guys who have TKD or boxing training the fights are over in seconds with well placed one-hit KO strikes or kicks to the liver that folds guys in half. I think the show does a good enough job capturing those kind of encounters without the absolutely frightening after-effects of people being knocked out while standing and falling down and cracking their head on the concrete. In most 1 vs multiple guy fights in real life (where the 1 guy is trained), most of the people who attack do so one at a time and usually get dropped with one punch. No fancy blocking or dodging or slipping. It usually doesn't look cool like in the movies but definitely devastating. I think the show strikes that fine balance between the Hollywood effect and the real-life flash-hit-KO effect.
@@lukewithann7256 it wouldn't be as appealing to audiences if it were like the book
Whoever paid these drunk kids to pick a fight with a guy twice their size apparently doesn't understand that there's a reason boxers don't fight outside their weight classes.
The only people in his weight class are mythical giants of old.
They have never read the books. If they had, they'd never get involved.
Twice is an understatement

I think I finally found the perfect guy to play Doc Savage, if ever they decided to make a serious movie about the legendary hero of the 30's.
he would make one hell of a batman
Bro I was just about to say this in the comments. He'd make a perfect Bruce Wayne and Batman.
Put him in a black wig and he'd make one hell of a Conan too. I'd like to see a series of that, faithful to the original Robert E. Howard stories.
He would be brilliant as Homer Simpson the movie too.
Also an excellent choice for Captain America. Any peak human really.
Steriod man to the rescue
This guy's acting transformation from blue state character to this is mind blowing
If you're up to no good, I recommend that when Reacher shows up and meets you and your friends, have the map to the hospital loaded on your phone and show it to him before he starts his business.
Read most of Lee child's books. I loved reading kill shot
Excellent.
Reacher and Tulsa King are my two fav. shows this year! All because of what Units the protagonists are xD
Warm nights and no bugs, I wanna live there
Given this is a southern town - yeah. Hard to control bugs in a studio lot though.
Just love her comment.
I love the books, and this actor is a perfect fit, unlike others I could mention.
You mean the guy so vain he has clauses in his contract that his characters have to be at least 6 feet tall when he's 5 foot 4
Or the guy who insists on his characters being referred to as "young" when he's over 60
I could go on but we all know which guy we're talking about
Yawn
The funny thing is that Alan Ritchson is big, but in the books Reacher is a MOUNTAIN. 6'6", etc. They use lots of clever camera shots to make Ritchson look even bigger. In that one respect, the series does something the Cruise movies did too.
He is a perfect fit, but a smaller actor better portrays someone who others think can be dealt with easily. If there are two people, one 6'6" and the other 5'4", who do you think is more likely to win in a fight (assuming they both look similar in build)?
@toddkes5890 except Reacher was never meant to be "someone others think can be dealt with easily" in fact its the exact opposite
Reacher said he's going to "find a motel". I could understand how Roscoe might have shown up at the motel Reacher was going to pick since there probably wouldn't be that many options around there and she knew the direction he was walking. But how could those kids have guessed where he'd end up, enough to park themselves there for an hour or so waiting for him?
Small town, maybe only one motel.
@@MrGruffteddybear Except didn't he stay in at least one other motel in the town at another point? But I dunno, you could be right.
Because the director told them idiot.😂
@@HobokenSquatCobbler Maybe he paid a 2nd group of idiots to stake out the other motel just in case. 🤣
The writing wasn't great in this show. I gave up on it after like eight episodes. But the fights scenes were pretty damn good.
0:36 One complaint I have with this scene is "gun had a silencer which makes even close range work inaccurate". Suppressors have very minor effects upon the projectile, and the claim that they "make close range work inaccurate" is just false. Small detail, but it kinda removes the suspended disbelief when Reacher says something this obviously false.
Spot On, they need to hire a professional marksman to help the writers.. Given he did say this guy was a professional and knew what he was doing, pretty sure he dialed in the change to his barrel harmonics to account for the suppressor. You do that, and your accuracy can actually improve, not to mention depending on the model of gun, and suppressor, an additional 10-20 fps.
@@digikiwam Might have been a line directly from the book. The books are a few decades old and there have long been many "myths" about silencers and their use and effectiveness.
that myth probably stems from the idea that pairing a suppressor with subsonic ammunition lowers the muzzle velocity/effective range, but at a distance that short you're 100% right that it wouldn't affect accuracy at all regardless
On most pistols the can is in the line of sights and makes point shooting very important.
@@boscobeans This, and the imbalance produced.

"Some takes your life, it's always personal"
I like both of them. If you read the books and I have as a fan for years of Reacher I think Alan's Reacher is like the book, when you imagine him. However I like Tom Cruise and although smaller he is still a sort of Reacher. I like both of them portraying the character but Tom is greedy he has so many other characters he is known for. His Mission Impossible is owned by him. He is Ethan and I loved his more crazy characters like Knight and Day. I'm really enjoying Reacher season 2. WE NEED A HERO THESE DAYS. Not just an Iron Man but a flesh and blood human.
Oh well ... this is a fictional work with fictional characters.
4:23 Dude ate that punch like a tiny snack.
I think all YT Clips of Reacher doing stuff should be labeled "Reacher headbutts and slaps/breaks/destroys/whatever some people". The headbutts are a constant through all of his videos i've seen so far... ^^

Reach is a patient man actually.. 😅
I'd dig him as Tracy Lawless.
One very ticked off individual 😅😂
Did he just....4:23...Yup, he headbutted that guys fist.
Power move
Forehead is the thickest bone in the human body. It is why experienced street/bareknuckle fighters never try face punches. All it takes is a slight downturn by your opponent, and instead of them getting a busted face, you end up with a busted hand.
In the books, the headbutt is a powerful move in Reacher's arsenal. From _The Affair_ : “No one expects a head butt. Humans don’t hit things with their heads. Some inbuilt atavistic instinct says so. A head butt changes the game. It adds a kind of unhinged savagery to the mix. An unprovoked head butt is like bringing a sawed-off shotgun to a knife fight.”
holy shit!
@@EnemaBagJones24601 The books and movies/show always talk about the headbutt like its arguably the best thing to do in a fight. Then there's people like joe rogan(who is pretty knowledgeable here) who say "No one wins in a headbutt." The man's a modern life Geralt of Rivia
Most unrealistic part of this is that kids would talk to a man arrested for murder. that's like the most serious crime.
If your a cocky drunk idiot, your going to want to talk smack to the guy your sent to beat up. If theyre accused of murder, that just means theyre a bigger target - you kick their ass, your good enough to kick the ass of someone accused of murder.
Drunk kids are not known for their brains.

04:37
What just rolled into Margrave? A space marine.
The love interest in Season 2 is nicer. Can't wait to see who they pick for Season 3.
Two quibbles.
-it is referred to as a "silencer" and someone with his training would likely say suppressor because that is what they are called. It's a simple misnomer.
-suppressors make firearms very slightly more accurate in almost all cases. You're adding extra barrel length which, particularly with short barrelled rifles, allows for the round to get up to full potential speed when leaving the barrel. At least, this is true for most calibers outside of specialized rounds like .300 Blackout that are designed to work from a shorter barrel. Incidentally, that round is designed to perform admirably as a subsonic with a suppressor.
@4:23 don't mess with a guy who face tanks a punch
I've read the books and watched both of the series and I love them, but I always have to suspend a little disbelief when scrawny punks look at a 6.5 foot monster guy like Reacher and think they can take him.
Occasionally, you do have to wonder about the intelligence of these guys.
One of these episodes, I'd expect to see Col. Troutman walk in.
Troutman: see fellas I’m not trying to save him, I’m trying to save you from HIM

I love how thad just became the smartest and baddest mf in the world
Why would these puny Pomeranians attack a giant Pitbull? Well, humans, like many pack animals, get sucked into the delusion of numerical strength. And sometimes it actually works in their favour. Sometimes.
"Silencer" (actually suppressors) do not make close-range work inaccurate.
This guy broke a guys wrist with a light slap lmao
This is why the Tom Cruise version is slightly more believable. I can see a couple of dudes being willing to start trouble with a guy Tom Cruise's for a hundred bucks with no questions asked, but to expect them to go up against Officer Arthur Bailey for that price? Even with four people my response would have been not unless they're paying my hospital bill too.

Suppressors don't make guns inaccurate. In fact in most cases they increase accuracy.
Its not that, its that supressors often obscure the standard sights and require raised sights to be installed or a raised dot, a skilled shooter is more likely to know that.
@@kristianjesser2158 yes but a person using a suppressor is likely to know that raised sights are necessary. Conversely, shooting at very close range raised sights wouldn't matter for a skilled shooter.
I definitely believe that it's hollywood jargon to sound experienced. The same thing happens earlier when he claims that 9mm is small caliber and that a lightweight bullet necessitates a suppressor. 9 is considered medium caliber, which doesn't matter one way or another, and just the opposite is true for suppressed ammo. You want a heavier round to offset the decrease in velocity of subsonic ammo.
None of it really matters. It's a tv show meant to entertain, which it does. Accurate gun knowledge isn't important.
Very situational depends on the gun and condition, and whether it was specifically made for supression or to have a removeable one, what type of ammo is used, how its gassed and so forth.
@@s0nnyburnett Not situational.
Standard pistols aren't gassed, with very few exceptions. Unless you're using something like the Laugo Alien or the B&T single shot which is a type of bolt action. Both of which can be suppressed and both would use heavy subsonic ammo.
Subsonic rounds, regardless of platform, are ALWAYS heavier than supersonic loads to compensate for loss in velocity. Always.
You can suppress any firearm with a closed bolt or chamber, and some without.
I didn’t realize that. I think I’d always thought any time one attached an extension to a rifled barrel it would have to be at least imprecise on a micro level and would change the trajectory at least slightly. Even just the change from a rifled barrel to a different exit means would have to throw off a bullet at least a little right?
I have still not really understood if it was a TOTAL coincidence that Reacher was in Margrave at the same time as his brother was killed there, or if there was somehow a connection. In the beginning of the movie Reacher states that he was merely going to Margrave to learn more about that famous musician that allegedly died there. But I still don´t get if it was a total coincidence that they were in the same city at the same time
It was stated that Joe was the one that told Reacher about blind Blake
@@argentshrike516 Okay, thanks a lot for the info. I guess that still means that it was a coincidence though that they were in Margrave, basically at the same time?
Reacher vs. Bourne vs. McCall. Who would win?
Damn thats a good match up...Bourne wins overall but takes some punishment. McCall vs Reacher out of 5 would go 3 wins McCall/2 wins Reacher. Jack has his moments mauling Bourne and McCall ( throwing each through walls and windows, slamming them into the floor, lands a punch or kick that they have never felt such power before..) But in this combat its the guy who is most lethal FAST ! Bourne would quickly size Reacher up as a beast ! Throat strikes and crotch kicks with everything. But hey I could be wrong - maybe Jack overpowers each guy and snaps their necks ? NO WEAPONS = Reacher wins NEARBY OBJECTS USED AS WEAPONS = McCall wins KNIVES/TOOLS/PENS/BOOKS.... = Bourne wins
Each guy would immediately recognize one another as a serious threat. I don't want to underestimate McCall since he can wipe out a room of criminals and time it to his wrist watch. Then again Jack can thrash a prison gang with his bare hands. Bourne can probably think just a second or two faster which is an advantage.

Silencers do not make a weapon inaccurate at all
Depends on your sights.
One problem: he talks about how it would have been darker and then says it would have been easier to just shoot from a distance, so it was personal. If it was darker, why would a distance shot be easier?
He says a rifle at range would have done the job so why use a pistol at close range.
Its an un-necessary risk so it had to be personal or the person enjoyed the violence and being that close.

"Silencer makes even close range shots inaccurate" ?????
Depends on the gun and the suppressor.
Many pistols with threaded barrels are not equipped with raised sights to use a suppressor.
If your Can is bigger than your Sights, you are effectively point shooting. So yes, shooting a suppressed handgun Can be inaccurate.
That's a fair point, but it's not really said accurately. If you and I were saying it, I would say 'It's harder to line up an accurate shot' rather than 'it makes the gun inaccurate'. It makes YOU inaccurate.@@Beuwen_The_Dragon

the foundation of Lee Child's Reacher was not Small vs Big but Big vs Big. Cruise is not big. Ritchson is big - almost too big. And too pretty. Child's Reacher had wounds and battle scars. Ritchson looks like his career was at a gym not in the military. If I was the director I would change two things- give Reacher a jarhead buzz cut and saggy ill-fitting clothes. That would give him the appearance of an oversized oddball vs protein powder hunk
Who's writing this bullshit? This has been done before. And in todays episode Reacher plays Charlie Chan, until the fight scene where he plays #1 Son. We always enjoy hand to hand combat when a "hero" makes the world better by destroying evil doers on screen. But these kinds of skills take hundreds of hours to learn, and often while learning, students get broken bones and serious injuries during practice.
Experts at hand-to-hand combat avoid combat at all costs. Because in most states if they accidentally kill an opponent, they can end up with a very long prison sentence. Most experts in hand combat will literally RUN AWAY, if there is a choice. From their point of view, that is way better than a 30-year prison sentence.
It is extremely easy for a professional hand combat person to kill their opponent. And it can occur accidentally.
