Never count to three with Reacher
To be fair this is one of the only times he actually gets to three

"He flat a tire with a fork."

He gets to eat, but can't remember if he EVER got a piece of that pie.
@@driftwolf yea he did in the end, the pie tasted "awful" according to Alan.
@@fil4058 🤣 that must have been so disappointing. (although I would have thought he'd have had some during a break or something.)
"I've had better"
Reacher's mother always said that he had the strength of 3 men.
Great Cinematography! Great camera angles & clarity, especially with the fork in the tire!
the fork wouldn't have fallen out so quick though
For God’s sake, Reacher.
It’s a Bentley! Show sine respect!
That's what passes for a Bentley these days?! How far those cars have fallen!
For God's sake, oldrogue4247.
It's English! Show *some respect!
I love how they’ve made him strong enough to pierce a freaking tire with a fork! You need a really really sharp object and a LOT of force to do that in reality, especially if it’s pumped up 😂
@@CreakyCricket you may have a point, I’m not that knowledgeable about tires but if what you say is true then I can believe it. How could you tell they were low profiles?
harder if its pumped up??? Really..??? if it were flat, all the side wall would do is cave in when you hit it..
@@johntruesdale1612 yes but you’d usually be able to break the rubber easier when it stretches concave, I’ve had more trouble with filled tires resisting a sharp object than a flat one.
@@nicothekingswolfe1303 inflated will always be easier to pierce, same with a balloon, try pierce an uninflated balloon and it'll just just form around it, I can't see how a tire would be any different other than obviously much thicker rubber. Obviously the point still stands its going to be VERY difficult to shove it through I'd imagine, but inflated is probably the easiest way to do it.
Do we care? No we enjoy the film. It’s not a dissertation it’s a movie!
His first book and I loved it....Read it three times, they did good in the series.
Reacher - "You can't kill me!"
Me - "But I know what can... Gurl Phart."
He’s great and if you don’t think so don’t watch.
if you don't think too hard it is fun to watch
You'd have better luck sticking a fork through the eye of a needle than a tire.
Another’s contributor said his 6’2” friend did it.
Really, but itty bitty bits of copper seem to puncture tyres no problem!
Sidewalls are thin and soft.
I manage a chain of European auto repair shops, you have absolutely no clue wtf you're talking about. Curb rash could jack up a set of tires. A literal piece of wire could ruin a tire.
factor in "greasy spoon" and it's a safe presumption that the fork is made of stainless steel and designed to be more durable than the ones in an average home (that is, thicker by a few gauges)
I’m thinking Lee child never actually tried to stuff a fork through the sidewall of a tire…..
man oh man. I was just thinking of posting a similar notion.
same. no fcking way fork doesnt just bend @@TonyLovell
Tire?
A bunch of us tried this years ago. (Different book, same idea.) It needs an extremely strong shoulder and hand along with hitting the fork perfectly into the sidewall. Needless to say, I wasn't able to do it. Only the 6' 10" dude in the group made it work. The rest of us felt so puny! It helps if the tire is overinflated.
My wife read this and pointed out that someone had to buy lots of flowers and new cutlery for their wife after that one. Not me in this case, I simply had to explain the dislocated wrist....
For the people complaining about the fork in the tire, the sidewalls are not designed to take piercing impacts like the treads are. The sidewalls are not what contact the ground so they're not designed that way.
ehh, those are low profile Z rated tires, theyre designed to run flat for about 50 miles before the sidewall gives out. he would have had to stick that fork in a pretty thick place to get a flat tire.
Sidewalls are weak...
You do realise that Reacher is fictional?
Let me save you save you the trouble
You can’t
It was in the script for goodness sake! What other thing would have made the scene better?
First season was so good.
The slide would have put a nasty scratch in the paint.
So would the dent in the door where he hit a drug dealer with it. I dont think he cares about the cars resale value lol
Not really. I have done it, and I'm nowhere near as big as Reacher.
Beware jack reacher
I'm still working through the fact that Jack Reacher isn't a dwarf with a big nose.
He flat a tire like it was butter lol its actually really hard
Would've shown low tire pressure almost immediately
It certainly is possible. Though not probable. And would likely take several tries. But this is fiction, so it doesn't really matter. I hate when people analyze every second of a movie and have to tell everyone watching it how unrealistic it is. WE. DON'T. CARE. I've read every Reacher novel in the series. Loved them all. So far, I'm loving the series. And Alan Richson was cast perfectly in this role. Unlike Cruise in the 2 movies based on the series.
So true. If we discounted every movie with unlikely scenes, we'd be left with very little entertainment. Fiction and fantasy are a large part of why we watch. Speaking for myself anyway.
So right, it’s pathetic to apply analysis to movies, it all makebelieve.
People are really fixated on realism even when it's detrimental to a show's creativity. It's even worse with video games, people care more that it looks realistic and less about whether it's fun or not.
Dear Trudy, thank you ! 😊 for sharing the fact that there are those of us that get lost in the “what if “ of it all. Reading is a wonderful pass time but movies of this caliber can be so much better. After I finish a book, I think about the different ways some parts could be better played out. With this series, the books were stellar, the scripts were , oh yeah, stellar, the characters and the actors who played them, yes stellar. I just hope they keep going. I am afraid that Allen will get bored 🥱 with the same part. He is so damn cute. His wife is a very Blessed Woman.
Oh please only a fool would fall for that.
Oh, and almost impossible to stick a fork in a tire
Especially as there's no such thing as a tire.😊
I done it before
Hell , I did it twice today alone....
Wait... "Tire" is a euphemism, right ?
No way can you stick a fork in a tire
Reacher found a way...
Frontal in a tire no,but the sides are very weak
too bad prime is so screwed up now. oh well.
Hard to tell what happened it’s so dark
Pretty sure that tire is made of fondant
Sidewalls are v.weak, the least armoured part of any tyre .

Michelin tires. A little expensive. But worth the extra expense.
I just want to know, where does the restaurant get those forks? Damn.
Go ahead, try and drive a fork into the sidewall of a low pro tire only in the movies. 😅

He was supposed to be watching over an involved accountants wife and kid, while everybody got the bad guys.
But he was already working for the bad guys, so the wife and kid were at risk if he didn’t take the douche out.
Wonder why this dude's new movie TANKED at the box office?
I like how he Mag😢ivers shit
He also took crowbar shots to the forearms. Silly.
Tom Cruise would not have needed a gun.
Was pretty dissapointed with Ritchson's comments about and to the police faternity.
I tried to use a fork on a tire the other day, bent the fork, I call BS
In the defense of those saying that some things aren't realistic, I have to admit that I do this myself sometimes, though I DON'T tell everyone else watching.
Have you ever seen the 2013 movie "The Call", staring Halle Berry? She's a dispatcher in the movie. EVERYTHING she does, is unrealistic. I know. I was a 911 tele-communicator (dispatcher) for 11 years. As a result, the movie sucked. For me anyway. For those unaware how 911 dispatch works, I'm sure it was fine.
Same goes for action movies with those long, drawn out, fight scenes. If you've ever seen a real fight, you know that the human body can't take the kind of injuries people in the movies portray, for that amount of time, and remain conscious.
But if it's fiction, it doesn't matter. Right? Maybe not. I once got a call from a young lady who went with some others to a party. She became uncomfortable there, and called 911, asking for police to come and take her home. But she had not idea where she was. She got mad when I told her I needed an address, or at least the nearest cross streets. and said, "Bitch, just triangulate it".
I had to inform her that this is real life, not "Law and Order", and in real life, dispatch centers didn't have that ability. Since she was using a cell phone, we could find out what cell tower her called pinged, but that would leave a lot of ground for police to cover in order to find her. And could be completely wrong, given that we were on a river, and the call might have pinged off of a tower on the other side. This happens all the time.
She finally walked down to the nearest intersection, and gave me the cross streets. And she waited there for police. But you see the problem, right? People see things on television, and in movies, and they think it is all real. So calling out the ridiculousness in movies and tv shows isn't necessarily a bad thing. But I wouldn't do it during the show. 🤷🏼♀
In fact human bodies can soak up a ton of damage. There are cases of people taking mutliple gunshot or knife stabs and not even notiticing it who keep on fighting without pause or dying hours later from wounds
All depends on the placement of the injury and how quickly organs will shut down. With adrenaline the person will keep going till the organs shut down, which can take a LONG time.
@@Reflectionmaterial I never said they would die. But most people are going to pass out. The average person's psyche isn't equipped to handle that much pain. Unless they're on meth. Then, their brain isn't functioning normally. And yeah, they might actually continue fighting after being shot multiple times.
@@trudyisaacs840 the pain will slow you down in a normal situation (like sports, or if you break ankle falling down stairs etc). If you are inside a burning house and you break your ankle, you will not even feel it and run on that broken ankle out of the house.
Same with life and death combat. Your body willl ignore the pain as it's a warning system, but at that moment it does not matter as you are going to die anyway.
No brain no pain. There are a bunch of books about this.
Check out: gate control theory.
Either way: folks who keep fighting despite horrible injuries is actually more real than a henchman collapsing because of a single knife stab or a kick to his nuts.
No Tuom
That tyre was not exactly the best quality..
Is this real?
im not gonna kill or hurt anyone :/ just was tired of bein roasted
hahahahaha 😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
What was it? Super Steel fork? You cant pierce tyre with fork. BS.
just a movie,for entertainment,don't take it seriously
good first season, crummy second season
I was curious why they did book #11 for the second season. Turns out, it’s because it gives back story to the circumstances as to why and how reacher left the military when he was so good at what he did.
I’ll be curious to see if they get a 3rd season up.
Still beats Tom cruises work imho, but I hated him in the role from day 1 cause he flat doesn’t fit the description.
I liked the 2nd season, but different from the 1st.
I didn’t even finish the second one, didn’t have any interest to. Very disappointing
Really crummy with all those broads.
Still better than the Tom Cruise movie.
And a million times better than the crap second movie outing.

I used to watch this show but since I saw Alan express his left wing Hollywood political views, I refuse to watch any of his performances.
Season 2 was a lost one..,
Absolutely no connection to season 1….
Goes from solo to ( of course) a nice diversity team???
They’re based off a book per season you moron
The story line is based on the books which are also not connected, or only very loosely by way of occasional references.
Not a fan of Alan Ritchson. His leftist views stand in the way of believing the characters he's portraying.
Literally the most boring show ever because of course the main character is a Mary Sue. Next episode they will probably have him standing next to an atom bomb and it will only give him an even tan. If your hero can never be hurt or lose then there is no conflict, there not stakes to the drama. I'm not talking about him being arrested. I'm talking about him losing a fight now and then. Him being arrested is no threat because we already know that the writers will just hand wave it all away.
You and I have VERY different ideas of what constitutes a 'Mary Sue' character. Rey from the Disney Star Wars movies comes to mind.
Jack's good in a fight but I have no difficulty believing there are things he struggles with. Rey was made perfect at everything and only worked the bare minimum to improve when the plot demanded she needed to 'struggle'.
You can’t just call every character that you don’t like a Mary sue…. Mary Sue’s have no personality. Reacher definitely has one. The fact that his plot armor is nuke proof is the problem, also while the dialog is decent the overall narrative is bad and the villains in particular are meh and without nuance. The author clearly tried to make them overly aggressive but they come across as laughably so, and to the detriment of their interests.

Yeeeaahhh.......they spent too much money finding oversized equipment for reacher......they got a little tight on the money.
Its cinematic not realistic.
Sidewall puncture, not tread.
No one wants run on flat tyres on higher speeds
Run flats are too heavy for a car that can do 200. They also are not speed rated for it.
It's a Bentley probably has run flat tires ....
I loved Reacher the way he doesn't muck around the 2 guys he shot trying to put them in the trunk of their car cracked me up

The writing on this show is so on-the-nose it's making me nauseous. I am seriously trying to find a scene from this show that was actually written well and I'm still searching.
