Well... I don't know what to answer you...
If you haven't played the game, don't watch it. The story is extremely rushed and it's difficult to understand the story without the context of the game.
If you have played the game... The anime it's not bad (in my opinion) but it's not as good as it can be.
The anime covers 2 days per episode, so the story is squished into fitting into those 20 min that some things are poorly adapted (like Shiki's secret) or not adapted at all (like Makoto's arc), but the main events have been adapted. Not everything has been bad adapted but you should be aware of that some things are not (or not as well as they could be).
Even though the animation and watching my favourite characters animated was something I really enjoyed, I think the anime could have been much better if only it had had some episodes more.
But this is just an opinion of a random person on the internet, maybe you should give it a try (after you play the game, if you haven't) so you have an opinion for yourself.
I hope I was able to answer you, I just don't really know what to say.
