Did anyone else notice that Leshy never actually charges at you directly like the others do, he just sorta wonders the battle sometimes in your general direction and sometimes away from you completely. Because he can't see you
If I had a nickel for every time the Leshy appeared in a Devolver Digital game, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.
What I really like about this is how it's Amdusias' theme but with a choir to make it seem more "holy" showing that you are indeed fighting a higher being
Leshy was the youngest of the Bishops of Old Faith. Although he didn't possess any kind of supernatural power, like his brethren, he was filled with zeal and desire to prove himself. He was so obsessed with this, that he didn't notice the betrayal of Narinder, until it was too late, and for that he payed with his eyes. But that didn't abate his fervour. And after the banishment of Narinder, he began to seek another ways to please his brethren. And the chance didn't made him wait. One of the revelations of Shamura said, that the end of the Old Faith will be brought by the lamb. And after Heket gave an order to slaughter them all, Leshy grabbed that opportunity and sent forth his cultists, who were as zealous as him. It was only a matter of time before the last of it's kind was brought before them for a show execution.
I really didn't realize the full gravity of the situation until reading this. The entire lamb population was murked, our lamb is the alleged last of their kind.
That makes 2 kinda horror games with a card mechanic and a form of cult that have their first real boss named Leshy. ...Inscryption is full of surprises.
Leshy is a spirit from Slavic mythology that protects forests, and sometimes drags travelers into its depths. If the first location is a green forest, like many in games, then Leshy makes sense as a firs boss.
"The brother of the bishops, as they call. Leshy. He roams this place as if to look for those who may defy him. He's connected to darkwood in some way. One step closer to finding out how to escape this wretched place."
The choir in this one adds a much sadder, sorrowful vibe to it. It sells the idea that you've reached the point of no return. Up until now you'd mostly fought wild beasts and cultists but this is really it... you're about to butcher a Bishop of the Old Faith in cold blood. Once you have that kind of blood on your hands, there's no going back. Are you even doing the right thing..?
@@your_fathers sorry man I accidently deleted your comment where you said "it's called Cult of the Lamb, it aint that deep nerds". Have you ever read "Animal Farm" lollll
Despite the game trying to make you second guess whether you're the bad guy or good guy, I felt it was deserving to absolutely obliterate all the bishops since they did try to kill you.
The game's premise is primarily about dismantling evil cults and tearing down false idols, including a Satan allegory. While your own cult is dedicated to you as a deity instead of to the Abrahamic Lord (who, we can assume, is not a thing in the game's setting), and certainly you are empowered by dark magics and strange profane rituals, once the tutorial concludes you and your leadership are only as horrible as you choose to be. If it's more to your liking, you can be a just and kind leader, taking in the desperate, elderly and sick, comfortably housing your followers, instructing them on providing for themselves as a community, feeding them healthier and healthier meals, and doing things like funeral rituals and straight up "ascendancy" rituals wherein your subjects are sent above to the next world, teaching your people to neither worship nor fear death, and to look to the future and the afterlife with hope and love. Only in the tutorial does the game require you to do anything explicitly monstrous, and that's just to teach you mechanics of the game. After that, how you proceed is your own intent. By default, your main method of recruiting new followers is to rescue them from being murdered by evil cults, devoured by a deranged spider creature, and from the burning ruins of their villages who suffered at the wrathful hands of the rival cults. I can only assume that as the developers bring out more and more content, there will come even _more_ wholesome aspects to the gameplay for players to enjoy, even alongside the darker indulgences.
we need to remenber that they are just games, it works just like a movie, we arent commiting a sin for playing it since nothing of the game is real. the real issue is if the game influences you into commiting sins, but besides that i think you can play the game fine as it is.
Leshy is the greatest banger in an ost literally full of them. So damn nice with the choir and the harp which are somehow made threatening, I didn't even think it was possible.
This might be a minor thing but i noticed in the game while their followers refer to the other bishops by name, they refer to leshy as "the worm." This could show that leshy could be more dangerous/monsterous than the other bishops, or that he simply is feared more than the other bishops.
Seeing as how the songs represent the bishops, this one reminds me of a protagonist in a horror movie, hiding behind something, and the antagonist/creep-o is in the vicinity, and looking for you, and wanting to kill you. It’s always reminded me of an extreme hide and go seek situation.
Blessed be the Great Lamb, protect him in his quest to slay the four Bishops, guide him in his quest to serve The One Who Waits, and may his followers prosper. O Great Lamb, please be succesful.
What confuses me with Leshy is that, unlike the other three bishops who somewhat regained what they had lost (by use of crown), he seemingly remains completely blind even when wearing the green crown
